I am Yoruba, from Nigeria. It's strange and edifying that I can make sense of the chants and prayers spoken in my tongue, from fellows 10,000 miles across the Atlantic.
@@Funky1-3 They are singing praises (paeans) to the Yoruba river goddess, Osun. There is a call and response of 'Babalawo', as though to invoke the presence of a higher being. The entire orchestral ensemble gets inspiration from Fela's artistry and his Egypt '80 band
