ABBA - Waterloo Waterloo' at the Grand Final of the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus, Stikkan Anderson Metronome, Stockholm, Sweden Polar Epic Polydor Atlantic Universal Music
In Vietnam, ABBA was the first and most famous Western band we heard on public speakers broadcasting to the whole town. Every child on the street was dancing to the music while playing football. Fast forward 50 years, and I still listen to their music when I am feeling down
This is just ridiculously adorable. Loved Agnetha telling us about Bjorn's costume being so tight he had to stand on the couch. 🤣😂 I so wish I could see Voyage, unfortunately I live in the USA and can't afford to travel. Those who are blessed to be able to go, enjoy it for the rest of us fans! 🥰
So clever of them to keep refreshing and upgrading their appearance as avatars. Voyage in London is clearly not a one-off - they're going to keep developing the concept as long as it's viable. What an amazing group.
I went to see this gig at the abba arena London UK wow wow wow wow 🎉🎉🎉it was epic brilliant awesome amazing is this the new look now if so I'm goin back wow wow wow wow
You got it so right, that , how I remember it, and it was so hard to get the abba magazine in the shops the official ones, but loved the lookin magazine when you could get pictures of them and other stars .
"It's not about self-confidence, it's about having a sense of humor". Perfectly encapsulates their attitude. They took their music very seriously, but one gets the feeling that they always did have, indeed, a sense of humor about themselves and their campy outfits.
🎉 ABBA 50....the world celebrates....l have loved them for 50 years....Only the greatest group ever. I will be going to Stockholm and London in June 2024 for ABBA celebrations. Greetings from coastal Mississippi 😂
As someone who saw them first time round in 1979 at Wembley Arena, I can confirm the show is pretty damn good and near the closest thing to the original
Wow, those ABBAtars are amazing. I've seen some stills where they just don't look quite right (Agnetha and Bjorn mainly). They seem to be absolutely perfect here. That Voyage show must be amazing if this is how they are now!
Their hologram lasted for a short time. They played a video from Eurovision with the group ABBA's winning song Waterloo. After that, all the good atmosphere with the legendary group was spoiled by those three figures. How did they manage.ABBA is the only one and it's realistic that they didn't get into that mockery of debauchery.
Weil Krankheit kostet. Was die Show betrifft,außergewöhnlich.. .
@@inkanietzkowsky36Das macht mich sehr betroffen.
This video looked a bit creepy but for me it brought some short of nostalgia .although I m an 1980s kid still remember listening to Abba in the 80s and had a crash on Agnetha Seeing them so young here even if they were AI you wish it was 1975 Ev looked so simpler back then
TO: @interestingvids-hx2sq: The most interesting time for me as it pertains to ABBA, (me, now being a 62 year old man, here in 2024) was their 1981 concept-album "THE VISITORS"; it was a radical, unexpected change, from the glamorous Pop Scene, to a much more Adult Contemporary sound. When I saw the album cover of "THE VISITORS", I was almost stunned! Their clothing was so 'early 1980s'. Long gone were the silky, shiny disco jumpsuits. Anni-Frida & Agnetha were in self-bought, classic outfits and Benny & Bjorn were in muted-colored, woven sport coats and those very in-style, skinny-type neck ties. The setting was this Massive Mansion Museum with books and artifacts from floor to ceiling. A HUGE & unexpected change was at hand for ABBA...until nearly 40 years later, with "VOYAGE". I had recently started my lifelong career as a radio broadcaster by 1981 & when I put on the turntable the first hit single to be released from that LP: "When All Is Said & Done", I nearly JUMPED OUT OF MY SEAT, when I heard a processing effect...what we call in the recording business... "Gated Reverb", on ABBA's long time drummer Ola Brunkert's snare drum! That sound was INSTANTLY AMAZING & MIND-BLOWING TO ME!!! One of Europe's FIRST "nearly" full digital recordings, by the incredible engineer, Michael Tretow, at POLAR Studios, Sweden. It was a WHOLE BRAND NEW ERA of "ABBA" to me, at that very specific space in time, in my life. Seeing them now, in "A.I." form, ("VOYAGE"), to keep the "ABBA SPIRIT" alive...well...from what I understand, it's a very good, exceptionally well produced, extremely profitable venue...much like The Beatles "LOVE" at The Mirage in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA...this keeps us "old farts" still in tune with their legacies and introduces young people to their huge, massive, vast catalog. BUT...for some reason, I just can't get 1981 out of my mind, heart & spirit...I try; just unable to.
It kind of is. This has been re edited so we get all ABBA, the actual broadcast only had the first verse of Waterloo then had 3 bad singers which for me spoilt it, this is far better. You can see where the video of the crowd repeats on this, up to there is what we saw on the night.
The Eurovision tribute felt underwhelmimg. The abbatars were never meant for tv but for the massive arena in London so they did come across as CGI on tv. The clip they used was also just from the normal main show so again wasnt specifically recorded for Eurovision.
Yes and no. Björn an Benny have recorded greeting messages for the intro and you can see the avatars from a different angle which is interesting. But it doesn't really work on the TV screen.
But, the audio was obviously newly recorded specifically for the 50th anniversary of Waterloo. 😉 Yes, it was kind of underwhelming. Would have been nice if they did a full avatar concert...or I guess, for such a special occasion, broadcast the full ABBA Voyage show in honor of the 50th anniversary of their Eurovision win.
i think it should be indicated with capital letters that these are holograms... cause i suppose it's easy to get confused especially for younger generation who don't really know who Abba is.
