Very interesting to hear ABBA's music played by an Orchestra and it shows just how good it was or is~!! ABBA will be with us forever and ever and so glad they will be~!!!
ABBA’s place in the world pop music is an undeniable fact. Now we see how much they contributed to classical music with their compositions. It’s as if Beethoven’s spirit wanders through the compositions.
A symphony orchestra can play anything from Motown to Aerosmith and beyond... They chose to do ABBA because their music is extraordinary and we miss them so much. They were only around for 7 years
@@BroccoliBeefed Nope. I was dissapointed that they use a drumkit and a bass guitar. Totally not parts of this kind of ensemble. Any type of orchestra can produce disco music by incorporating a drumkit and an electric bass. I was hoping that they do ABBA in a symphonic way, with separate percussion pieces and tubas/double basses...
Perfectly demonstrating how Abba's music lends itself to a classical arrangement. Music experts may find their writing style is not too dissimilar to classical composers. This sounded glorious. A real treat for the ears. Huge congratulations to everyone involved in this epic, polished and rousing performance. Bravo 👏 👏 👏
I really love it when a song that I have loved for years, is interpreted in a way that keeps the magic of the original but allows me to enjoy it in a fresh way. This has happened so many times and would not be possible without things like RU-vid. In addition to instrumentals, I really enjoy acoustic covers.
I was waiting for the vocals to kick in, I was worried they'd ruin the performance, but no, wow. Utterly enhanced it. I don't know who they are, but they are amazing. I would pay to see them live!
They're 2 choirs who joined for the occasion. The one is a school choir linked to a high school and the other is Papillon, a great choir for mixed voices (which I'm a part of too). Thanks for the compliment, I'll pass it on ;)
Thankyou for this fantastic, excellently arranged and played and conducted ' music feast'. Superb. I keep going back to it every day and listen and enjoy it. John, (Australia)
This is a wonderful orchestral rendition of ABBA's music,ABBA is one of two bands whose music lends itself to lavish orchestral arrangements, the other band of course being The Beatles.
Phenomenal performance by the European Philharmonica!!! My only grievance is that the camera did not zoom in on the musicians at all after the first minute. Would have been super nice to see the lead musician(s) at different parts of the songs.
Hi Peter Monbailleu, I thank you so much for have shared this audio and video, otherway I had never enjoyed such a beautiful art, no doubt technology and art of our time are marvelous, I love the Orchestra sound. It would be better to hear it live at theatre but video, audio and a few minutes of quiet and concentration allows to enjoy it. Tose moments in time I can bring here now. Greetings to you from México City.
When you are a symphonic orchestra that can play pop/rock compositions without using a pop/rock drum set up and drum rhythm, you are a true epic orchestra.
I am talking exactly of the drums on this one @@sjefhendrickx2257 and how this orchestration was unable to render the music without it. A creative orchestration for me is one which sounds symphonic without depending on the drums.
Waterloo really suits being played be an orchestra. It is such a dramatic song. Waterloo also does not have much subtly to it (that is not a criticism).
