I saw them live in Boston in 1979. Their flight was delayed and the concert started late. As they went on stage, they apologized even though it wasn’t their fault. They said “we’re going to make it up to you!” And boy did they ever! Best concert I ever saw!!

The slight imperfections, the naivety in the English lyrics + the accents just add to the genuine melancholy. This is a pop masterpiece - perfect arrangement, perfect performance. Stunning.

These guys have so many top tier songs. Can you all believe I didn't really know much at all about Abba until a couple weeks ago? I get a taxi every morning to town and it's about a 15-20 minute ride each way. It's always the same driver and he's got a playlist he always has playing and it's got some abba songs on it. I kept noticing that I'd always get one of their songs stuck in my head so I decided to look them up here and found a bunch more of their songs. I'm starting to get hooked and I'm beginning to bond with their music. They just make some top notch music that transcends genre bias. For instance, I'm big into rock and even heavy metal, but Abba is just so good at song writing that it doesn't matter to me that they're a pop band which isn't my normal genre. It's just that good. I'm glad my driver had a few Abba songs on the radio or else I never would have discovered alot of this stuff.

ABBA is absolutely one of the very greatest pop bands of all time.

The memories this brings back is timeless in itself. My momma had all of the “albums” in the mid ‘70’s and played them religiously. She passed away September 16, 2022 and now it means so much more to me. I can’t help but cry when ever I hear ABBA, but smile at the same time. ABBA-THANK YOU for the music that is timeless. It’ll always have a place in my heart.

Apart from the Beatles ABBA are the the biggest selling group of all time. From 1974-82 they were absolutely huge and 40+ years later the songs still sound good!

Gotta say, though they had so many greats, this is my favorite ABBA song. That opening keyboard riff, the chord structure, the harmonies, Agnetha’s lead vocals, how the song kicks into higher gear during that epic chorus…all of it is brilliant.

I have always said I am not a "fan person", not fan girling anyone, just loving music and appreciating creative geniuses. But 2021 is the year I have become an ABBA-fan and fangirling Agnetha ;D I love you guys!

It's simply unbelievable how many "best Popsongs of all time" they made. Pure geniuses.

I think it's the best song of ABBA. Most of all I like the dramatic arrangement, mix of slow melody and fast refrain. Agnetha and Frida are excellent singers and did their best for this brilliant composition. It's an evergreen, unforgettable for all times and a milestone in the music history.

When I was a kid I'd change the stations all day and night to catch this song on the radio. Now I can listen to it anytime I want. Thank you RU-vid. 💕

I have a story about this song: I heard this song in the radio on a trip to a camp a month ago. I already knew about ABBA and I absolutely loved the Dancing Queen ( I still do, it’s my favorite song ). I couldn’t listen to any songs when I was there, so I sung them. SOS I sung the most. And I was saying to myself: it would be so great if that was ABBA. Turns out, it is! Definitely my favorite band.

"Dancing Queen" musically is an Epic Composition. I like the way the octaves change in the chorus is amazing. "The Winner takes It All" and "SOS" were other brilliant songs

This is a key song in ABBAs history. After Waterloo won Eurovision in 1974, and topped the charts in number of countries, ABBA were thought by many too be a one hit wonder. They had too wait about 18 months until SOS in 1976 too have another big hit. Although SOS was not a number 1, it was still a big enough hit for them too carry on(as in the words of this song) After SOS, the hits came thick and fast! If not for SOS, they would most likely have been no Mamma Mia, no Fernando, and no Dancing Queen, and all the rest! Thanks too SOS they were pop history!

The message in this song is so clear. It’s just a great song, and it doesn’t try to hide the desperation which happens when your true love is away from you. They capture that feeling of urgency here.
