What a bizarre reaction, never seen anyone react who thought the video was funny. Think you must have some warped thinking. Btw her name isn't Agatha ...............
Completely agreed. Most people think this song is so sad. It's really not very questionable what it means. It's very clearly a breakup song. Why is this funny?
I have met Björn and Benny many times, but never the two girls. I was in the same TV-show as Björn already in 1969, when I was 15 years old. And in 2007 I, together with Björn and Benny were at the same poster, as the main speakers at a conference in the Royal Library in Stockholm about the author Vilhelm Moberg (I talked about his dramas and they talked about how they wrote the musical "Kristina from Duvemåla"). Björn is a bit reserved when you talk with him, but very polite. Benny is very easy to talk with. He is just like any ordinary guy you happen to meet in the street, Benny is the real genius of the group. He is still pouring out a stream of hit songs for various artists, and he has his own band of Swedish folk musicians.
@mathsjesperson8432 : Although not sure how far Benny's wonderful melodies would resonate with so many people's emotions without the depth of Bjorn's lyrics which give the songs meaning and relateability. I think it is pairing of the two of them that led to success. As Bjorn also said, it also took the girls voices, looks and personalities to add the magic. As solo careers none of them flew that high, so it was the combination of the 4 that made ABBA so polished and unique. But undoubtedly it is the fabulous melodies that everything else is built on. 🤍
So glad to see you again discover more ABBA songs ABBA in the begining was two swedish couples, meet in 1969: A- Agnetha (blonde singer) & B- Björn (guitarist songwriter productor) B- Benny (pianist songwriter productor) & A- Anni Frid 'Frida' (brunette singer) Agnetha & Björn married in 1971, with two Young childrens Benny and Frida married in 1978, withouth own childrens both couples separated before the breakup of ABBA in 1982: Agnetha & Björn at end of 1978 Benny & Frida at begin 1981 "The winner takes it all" (1980) is one of the Best Songs by ABBA and the Most sad and emotional too The best lyrics by the guitarist Björn and the greatest performing with the amazing Interpretation of the blonde singer Agnetha Fältskog and her soprano voice The lyrics is a fiction about a divorce, it is not about Their real life, although it is obviously influenced by Their own experiences and the realization of the legal divorce between Agnetha & Björn in the middle of 1980, even though They were no longer a couple or lived together more than a year and half ago, at the end of 1978 In fact, the song was more nearly in time to the split of Benny & Frida as a couple, only a few months later "The winner takes it all" return ABBA to the Top of the charts, gives ABBA their eighth #1 in UK after almost 2 1/2 years Also was the fourth and last Top10 to ABBA in U.S (pick at #8 in 1981) , and #1 in US Adult Contemporary too "The winner takes it all" was voted the Best ABBA song by the British fans, and is the favourite ABBA song to the blonde singer Agnetha and now in the new Voyage concerts at London that begins exactly one year and half before, the encore song is... "The winner takes it all" That's are my next suggestions: official video of "Super Trouper" or live perfomance of "Waterloo" at Eurovision 1974 in UK I wish to You a nice week my best regards from Buenos Aires , Argentina 🇦🇷 South America
They completely missed the emotional weight of the song. This poor woman, crushed by lost love, is pouring out her broken soul, and all they can do is giggle.
Most of Abba's video's was directed by a young Lasse Hallström. Later he went to Hollywood and made, among others, Gilbert Grape, The shipping news, Chocolat and Ciderhouse rules.
This song hits so hard, you wish you wouldn't hear it again because the more you hear it the harder it hits, but it's too beautiful and you take the risk!
This song, along with Dancing Queen, are my favorites from ABBA. And those 2 songs have nothing in common with each other. And, leave it to John to think of a 3some. It’s just about a breakup, lol.
Really ? This is the most beautiful heartbreaking song ever written, and must have been really hard for Agnetha to sing, written by bjorn her ex, not long after their divorce, Agnetha pours her heart and sole into it and you can feel her pain, how does this make you laugh ? I could cry everytime i hear it. This is a masterpiece and ABBA'S best
Hi guys🙂 I'm Swedish😇Just a little information about ABBA😉They have written all there songs, and they have never been singing someone else's song's 😌 Like you're style by the way😘and Lulu is a 😍cutie and that goes for the both of you of course 😇😁 See ya🖐
I remember this song being played during the postgame coverage of Super Bowl XV back in 1981. The Eagles had just lost to the Raiders, and this song was played during postgame coverage of the Eagles' locker room, where the disappointment and deflation contrasted with the celebration going on in the Raiders' locker room. I was rooting for the Raiders, but kind of felt sorry for the Eagles.
When this song came everyone assumed it was about the break-up/divorce between Agnetha and Björn. Well themselves especially Björn denied it for years. Eventually he did admitted it was partly inspired by their situation. Björn wrote the song at their summer house in the archipelago outside Stockholm with the company of a bottle of Scotch. Agnetha broke down in tears first time she read the lyrics and says it's her favorite song with ABBA. If you took the time to actually listen to the lyrics you'll understand why she's walking alone why she's in focus 🤦♂ . I wonder who the clueless one really is🤦♂
this song breaks my heart each time. This song is about Agnetha divorce/separation. Let me guide you on how to listen to this song: you don't move, you don't sing along, you listen to the lyrics (which are the most important thing on this song) and you watch Agnetha's expressions during the video, which breaks my heart how sad she looks on multiple moments. There is also no doubt that the performance was extraordinary. Laughing during the song was kind of disrespectful for the people that loves this song.
I was pretty close to follow your channel before you came up with your weird interpretation... You shouldn't do any more ABBA-reactions, they just soil the beautiful art they've left for the world to enjoy... Go on reacting to music you really like, but do me the favor and stay away from ABBA. Neither your heart nor your brain are able to understand their magic.
Did you even listen to the lyrics of this sad, beautiful song? There is nothing funny about it and as for menage a trois, ridiculous, it is about divorce and how painful it can be. I won't be watching any more of your garbage.
What a disgraceful reaction to a sublime song. Truly bad. What on earth were you both laughing at, especially that bloke. Despicable and disrespectful. You obviously weren't truly listening to this beautiful song. Don't ever react to ABBA again. You have no respect for art.
