Men and women. Black and white. Young and old. Every nationality was there and having a great time. This was what the Beatles were about. A force for good
Nobody could have predicted fans would recreate an entire side of Abbey Road and play it decently with instruments in the Park because the music means that much to them. Beatles music still resonates with people! Bravo! 👏🏻 Everyone!
There aren't enough thumbs on my two hands to say how much I LOVED this performance! The musicians of course were great, but the energy and passion and joy of the crowd had me rocking. The medley lives, and it lives brilliantly!
I'm Brazilian and I started listening to The Beatles when I was still a teenager, and I still didn't pick up a guitar. When Lennon died, a climate of consternation invaded the whole world and even though I lived in a small town, I didn't escape it all. From then on, I never let go of the instrument. Seeing these guys playing and celebrating life, gives me goosebumps and a crazy desire to be together. Congratulations on the initiative.
@@abisail, Your father had very good taste. My father was also a musician, and it was from him that I inherited my taste for the sound of chords. He liked Brazilian music better, but I consider myself more eclectic.
Don't think about the technical quality.....it's not important. Think about and revel in the special way these people blended and floated on the sounds and the words of what has become true folk music...amazing and memorable. I reckon the Beatles would be humbled and pleased with what has become of their work.
My goodness that was very good, is it really 42 years since John's death goes to show love never dies, thank you all great singing love from the UK.🇬🇧🇺🇸
Feelings... Tears... Memories... wish I was there, wish I live in NYC. BEATLES - the Best Band Ever. ABBEY ROAD - the Best BEATLES Album. My Generation now is OLD, but mysteriously... WE STILL LOOK LIKE YOUNG TEENAGERS, AT 60 & 70...
Superb. Everyone showing John their love. Wouldn't it be nice if he could just emerge from the trees and join in. Well, in a way, he did! RIP John Winston Lennon.
Happy Birthday, Johnny...wherever you are. I suspect that you are there in some form...Thank you for the music. You have made many people happy and changed their lives. Be proud ...
this is great tears in my eyes I can't believe so many people thanks thanks from the bottom of my heart all you lovely people for a fantastic redemption. ofa gret album .again and again many thks love to u all.
John Lennon: "where we going, fellas?" Beatles: "to the top, Johnny!" John Lennon: "where's that, fellas?!" Beatles: "the toppermost of the poppermost, Johnny!" John Lennon: "right!"
I guess people forget that John Lennon was in the beatles. Whether there’s a song we play that McCartney sang Lennon still had a part to do with the composition of the song. If we were doing David Bowie songs or Solo Macca by all means. But don’t rag on a group of people playing songs that John Lennon had a part in making. Peace and Love.
Thank you!! I was involved this day (on bass, blue shirt, in the back) and most of the comments have been so sweet, but I'm surprised at all the "Paul wrote this one" and "George wrote that". First of all, we were playing ALL of "Abbey Road" - which is kinda ambitious for a ragtag orchestra like us - and we were *there*, not sitting at home complaining about us doing "Something" (a song, by the way, John called his favorite on this entire album). What good would it have done to leave it out? Sure, we concentrated on John material most of the time, but - thank God! - there was no self-appointed Beatle expert yelling at us not to play "I Saw Her Standing There" because Paul apparently wrote most of it. 🙄John was the head Beatle, the uber-Beatle - they were his band, he started them, he broke them up - and his DNA is in every song, even the ones he may have been snooty about in certain interviews afterwards. I would like to think that John's spirit was shining on us and was with us on EVERY song that he and his three best forever friends made. It sure felt like it!!!
I also want say how much I enjoyed the Abbey road performance by the fans at Strawberry field. I grew up listening to the album. We didn't have a lot of money so this was the only Beatles album we had. I wish I could have been there at Strawberry field with my guitar participating with the Beatles fans. I live in the UK, but would have gladly come to New York to do this for John. I play my guitar here while watching the performance on RU-vid. Hope to see more performances of the Beatles fans on RU-vid for Johns 83rd birthday.
I’ve been there and donated to a man playing Lennon tunes. Special request of Jealous Guy was wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing. Beatles music transcends all boundaries. Black, white, yellow or red 🖤🤍💛❤️🌈🩵🤎🧡🩷💜💚
This video is great. Whites, blacks, yellows, men, women, other people, young people, middle-aged people, old people, Ukrainian people, Russian people (I don't know if they're here), everyone is having a happy time. Time is great. we feel very happy Thank you to all the performers!
Man, the Beatles music makes me cry. How awesome is it that the greatest band in history just sang about loving each other? Gives me hope for humanity.
Side 2 of Abbey road .. ha ha ha .. still listening to it in a closed dark room full blast (not full blast now as i am older) .. unwinds me however tensed I am in any situation ..A b Quadri.. India
Been listening to this medley going on now what 54 years, and what is even more beautiful and fulfilling is watch 40 some folks singing and playing along, in unison, what love and harmony!! God Bless The Beatles!!!
We can honor John best by actually launching the peace movement that he sung & spoke about. Imagine, Give Peace ☮️ a Chance, Power to the People, All You Need is Love ❤️ … War is Over, if you want it … He’s gone, we are ones who must Come Together and start the Revolution.
Remember back in 60s when I was a teen we would pile into a car headed to Jersey shore getting high and listening to just released Abby Road. Such great memories.
I watched this video at your suggestion, and again so much JOY 😁and wishing I could be there! And kudos to all the musicians, especially the drummer and lead guitarist. Love watching the crowd sing along, too. That was amazing! 🙌🏻💓
It's so wonderful to see these musicians like this drummer who (to me) just playes his beat as he remembered how Ringo did it, and that without seeing John's ass sheaking left to right to know what part of the song they were playing
