The craziest thing is Ellie never learned the truth about why Abby killed Joel. She thought it was because of loss of the cure and death of the Fireflies, but she never learned about Abby being that surgeon's daughter
@@mauriciosaldivar8642 i don't think so. Even after making Nora talk and killing her, Ellie tells Abby "He did what he did to save me, there is no cure because of me, i am the one you want". She didn't tell something like "İ know why you killed him, i didn't know that he killed your father and you was avenging him"
@@faridagasiyev7042Yeah but that’s a fairly small detail and would probably not change anything. Even if her dad was the main reason she lost way more peopel she knew and the group gave up and split up afterwards
Love the confused look Abby has after Ellie says “I’m the one that you want” - she doesn’t really understand why Ellie is saying that. Ellie said that because she doesn’t know Joel killed Abby’s father, so she thinks Abby killed Joel because he stopped a cure from being made. It’s the details!!!
I took it as she was confused because of how Ellie says she is the one Abby wants, but Abby is thinking about how she let her live in Jackson when she could have killed her and Tommy. But both make alot of sense
Abby made Ellie FEEL alone So Ellie made Abby even more alone (Ellie has Tommy and Maria.) (Abby has Lev) Edit: you thought I would thank you for likes
@@ox_trueprotagonistchrisred9085 You are right They should have neutralised Nail Druckman for making this shit instead of threatening the voice actor of the worst gaming character of all time.
@@irish_deconstruction No she is not Look at her pathetic design a girl's head with a man's body. I could probably write s better story for Part 2 than that and design a better villian than this hideous creature. Its a shame that the same company that made the Uncharted Triology , Uncharted 4 , and The Last Of Us ended up with this lame ass character.
@@idunoh1902 yea that’s why I’m so conflicted because they host lost father figures and did dumb shit because of it, had Ellie killed, either lev or Abby the other would have continued the cycle of violence and revenge so I agree they are both justified Ellie lost her world do she took everything from Abby losing Dina because she couldn’t let go so 100% agree sorry I’m rambling
Abby is such a well written character, she could have killed Ellie back then but she refused too, her act of mercy bite her in the end, but Lev was there to ensure she doesn't go back, that she moves forward. As Abby slowly becomes human looking through the eyes of her enemy the Scars Ellie becomes more like a monster in her quest for revenge.
The way Abby's humanity is restored because of Lev mirror's Joel's in the first game through Ellie. It's a big reason why I think the second game has great storytelling.
It shows how ellie is also a well written character she made the ultimate sacrifice of letting go of her revenge and she ended up alone really shows how despite that she's a very good character that went through change
@@Nateisnotfunny No. It was literally proven in the theatre that Abby is physically stronger and a better fighter than Ellie. Abby had nothing but her fists and almost killed Ellie who had a pistol, shotgun, bombs and a bow and arrows. Realistically Ellie should of wiped the floor with Abby but because Abby has experienced harder circumstances plus better training. She's a better fighter.
Abby should have died in that theatre. Her plot armor was too massive. If WE were playing as Ellie there, and Abby was still just as vulnerable, she would have been dead within the first 3 minutes, if not less. Ellie just had more utility.
lol would you want to fight someone that determined to kill you? Ellie lost practically everything because of her. She was a girl with nothing to lose. That’s a dangerous person.
@@erickeegan5999If we was playing as abby in the first game instead of joel? It would happen the same thing. Joel kills her father then abby kills joel and ellie kills her friends. It would happen the same thing for the story but instead of ellie they would be sad for abby.
@@erickeegan5999 ABBY lost almost everything because of her. She lost her father, all of her closest friends, all of them being hunted down one by one. And she almost lost Lev too. Ellie only lost Dina because she left to kill abby. And joel died because abby wanted to avenge her father. Ellie gave up everything just to do something she didn’t even do because it was pointless.
No no you don’t understand forgiving your father’s murderer for literally stupidest reason imaginable is the right thing to do after murdering countless of people 🤓🤓🤓🤓
@@fiatpanda2003lemme guess, “revenge is bad” if that’s true, why made Abby to kill joel out of revenge if they Gonna teach the players that revenge is the wrong?🫤
I’ll never forget the sick feeling in my stomach as the more I played with Abby the more I sympathized her pain. Damn it… this game is honestly like no other experience I’ve had in any form or entertainment.
Abby lets Ellie live Ellie lets abby live And then there is the G.O.A.T "Plz i am begging you, let me live" *" No, you would just come after us"* Thats why he's the goat and the best
It only makes sense that Abby and Ellie would become more hardened and unforgiving than Joel because they never knew a world before the Apocalypse they were born into struggle and death
I like Abby, she killed Joel, ok, but he killed her father. She is not really a nice person, but neither is Ellie, they are just humans who lost someone and wanted revenge. And for real, the best character in The Last of Us part.2 is Abby, with her character development, backstory and purpose.
People think in only black and white. The last of us doesn’t have good guys or bad guys just people who do what they need to do survive/ live with what they’ve done. Only those who endure survive. People have this narrative that Abby’s a monster for killing Joel like Joel is some beloved soft character. Joel miller is not a beloved character. Mickey Mouse is a beloved character, Peter Pan is a beloved character. Joel miller is a dangerous, bad ass survivor who lives in a kill or be killed world
Abby: I let you live. Ellie: yea after you made me watch you beat my father figure to death with a gold club after he told he saved me from your faction trying to kill me
Joel killed her father for doing his job💀 their reasons weren’t much different from eachother, except that abby actually was more sane than Ellie. Ellie was in a fit of rage, blinded by revenge but realised in the end that there was no point cause it wouldn’t bring back Joel.
@@L0k37 bruh no there's a deference between them Joel wanted to save a child Abby father was going to kill a child and he doesn't have experience for his job😮
Damn, so fucking true man. I literally hate her only for that torturing Joel and slowly killing him in front of Ellie and her man holding her , man that rage seeing someone that close getting killed by someone and you can't do anything If I was Ellie and I would have killed her in the end.
Joel basically deserved what he got. Even though he did to save Ellie, he basically erased the only chance of humanity being able to reform properly and the fact he massacred quite alot of people, self defense or not, it's proven in the first few parts of the game that Joel dosen't care about anyone unless their his family, friends, or lover. Then again, would you let your child die so the world could reform? If the Cordecyep Epidemic happened right now, I think I'd do what Joel did. World's gone to shit before the Epidemic.
With fairness, Ellie never wanted to kill Abbys friends, she just wanted to know Abbys location, but they kept trying to kill her, so she had no choice but to kill them
Honestly speaking it kinda depends we all hate it but know hand to hand combat Ellie is dead the main reason Ellie is so bad ass is because she uses her immunity to her advantage more than anybody thought she could and just like nobody else can so not so more deadly off of skill but because of luck but I do agree people just hate on Abby because they take the main characters life
Unpopular ish opinion they both have my heart because they are both the same type of badass out to make who took away their father figure that they loved to death feel the pain they did. Like, I get we love ellie.. always will but I don't hate Abby, she was doing the exact same thing ellie would do and did.
Joel slaughters the Fireflies and ruins any chance for a cure, despite the fact Ellie would've wanted it. He was selfish and evil in that moment, but very human. Abby literally only hunts down and kills Joel because he murdered her father, and spares Ellie because she doesn't blame anyone else. Meanwhile Ellie proceeds to then hunt down and murder all of Abby's friends and even kills a pregnant woman, then has the nerve to play victim and cry about how her GF is pregnant when Abby was about to kill her. Then Ellie STILL tries to hunt down and kill Abby, because Ellie is incapable of learning any sort of moral lessons on her own until the very end when she has lost absolutely everything she could've had. Which ironically makes her just like Joel, incapable of letting people go, and willing to kill anyone/everyone just to make herself feel better. That is the moral of TLOU: 2, that despite Joel doing a terrible thing, he did it purely out of love for Ellie. Abby did a terrible thing, purely out of love for her father. Finally, Ellie did terrible things purely out of love for Joel but could've broken the cycle if she had chosen her love for Dina over revenge.
If a father protecting his daughter from people who want to kill said daughter out of (hope) for a cure is “evil” then you must not know the reality vs situations like these in video games
This story was written so well. You start off absolutely despising Abby, but as time progresses you realize she’s just a girl trying to do right by her dad. Which is exactly what Ellie is doing.
Tbh I'm more on her side, whatever she did for her father, she didn't deserve to lose all of her friends. But anyway, you never disappoint. I love your edits❤
Likely because we are playing as Abby(we can't just loose to an NPC right), but if we play Ellie like we used to. Abby would be destroyed(references on how I play Ellie). I think Santa Barbara Ellie could defeat bulk Abby, she was way more consistent and viscious there.
Actually, it's easier to sympathize with Joel since he just wanted a second chance with what little family he had. He lost his daughter and saw Ellie as his second chance and he took it. Abby took that away because of her father who had only shown up in the first game for all of thirty seconds. Abby is a mediocre character with a mediocre redemption arc in a mediocre revenge story.
@@jesseoliver6457 It's easier for you to sympathize with Joel because you played the entire TLOU as him first and have a biasedness. I have invited over a dozen of friends who have never heard of TLOU and got them to play starting from TLOU2 to TLOU1. All of them agreed that Abby wasn't in the wrong and is the least bad person.
@@dragonl4d216 playing the second one first doesn't give you an insight into why Joel did what he did. So Abby was in the wrong. The Fireflies had been trying to get a cure from a bunch of other kids and they failed every time. Every kid died and Ellie was going to end up the same way if Joel hadn't killed them all, including Abby's father. Abby was avenging someone who was responsible for so many other kids' deaths. Joel was right to kill them all. In the end of it, you still can't come to the understanding that Abby is a terrible person.
@@jesseoliver6457 They still finished both games so they have the insight into why Joel did what he did, just that they started with TLOU2 first which avoided forming a Joel biased early on. Joel did not need to kill Abby's father, a shot to his leg would have been sufficient. The reason Joel killed him is the same reason he killed Marlene - he doesn't want any of them to come back for Ellie. Abby is different, she only wanted revenge on Joel and spared everyone else including Ellie and Tommy.
@@dragonl4d216 and there you have it. Joel had a very good reason for why he killed Abby's father. So that he wouldn't come for Ellie. You said it. That would've taken away Joel's second chance at a father and daughter relationship. The fireflies got what was coming to them.
When the massacre at the hospital happened, they all probably assumed joel did it just so the world would stay the way it was, and it was an act of pure evil. I don't think any of them realized he did it to save Ellie and because he loved her. Just did it because he's that much of a cruel, twisted monster.
I honestly feel in the third game they might team up for a bigger threat. Can you imagine the monstrous team that would be. Even though they still won’t fuck with each other.
the craziest thing (btw spoliers if u haven’t played the game dont read this) is that he survived some how. he got shot in the eye and survived. what a g Tommy.
No we don't want to see her face her being alive is enough 🤦 just we want her to leave us alone And we don't want to play as a les bo like ellie until she becomes straight
I think its so sad that Ellie never found out why Abby killed Joel, i feel like it would be the biggest gut punch ever for her to find out that she did the exact same thing as Abby.
@@ajayfitnessproductsreviews3265 It's true, but still. Abby has every right to have her revenge on Joel. Jerry made a dick move and everyone paid for it :p. Joke aside, Abby is right and Ellie is also right, Joel was right and even Jerry was right x) There is no black and white in that franchise
The problem is not the game being written bad, it's that you people are too immature to understand it. I played TLOU 1 I loved Joel and I cried like a baby when he got killed. But that doesn't make the game less amazing.
It makes me so happy to see an Abby edit. She’s such an overhated character, She doesn’t desserve all that hate. And her actor aswell, it’s just sad tbh
honestly, if Abby and Eli had to go against each other, it wouldn’t be a tie. Abby would win like not an actual fight like who’s better I just think that Ibiza better character better development.
And the fact that abby trained like a literal soldier and she's older. She's obviously stronger with just her arms but Ellie is very strategic and good with her weapons
@@Bella.00gahonestly as a person who loves both characters I felt like Ellie should have won. If she just kept the pressure up… it was night night for Abby
@@MonkeyBuisnessManwhat did u say skills in Ellie ...exactly what kind of skills will let u win against a full packed abby .... Stop smoking weed bro it's getting ur mind
I hate how they never found out what they were to each other. Abby never knew what joel was to ellie and why she did what she did. Never acknowledged it. Never showed remorse for her actions. And ellie never knew what abby lost when joel saved ellie. Neither of their stories had any real closure. They were just left these broken characters that had lost everything. Which i guess can be the point they were trying to make about this world but from a story telling perspective its just so unsatisfying. There is such a huge potential for an absolute wrecker of an emptional scene where these two put out what what was taken from them. And none of the core game had to change! It could have still played out the same. Just add dialog during the fight scene. That way through seeing abbys point of view and remembering joel it makes more sense for her to let her go. Then they can just say something as simple as "i cant forgive you. But were done" thats it. A play on the words she shared with joel. Then there is closure and the rest of the game can be exactly the same way. The way it sits the game just felt so unresolved.
Ellie didn't want revenge. She wanted Joel back. That's why she didn't kill Abby at the end Because she realized that killing her wouldn't bring Joel Back. Just like when she fought with Joel about the vaccine. It was not going to bring the vaccine. She was a selfish jerk and she wanted to remedy it by making a rematch, like Joel would have. But she's not Joel.
@@JustiAEP They wanted to focus more on her for the game so we could empathize with her more, so ofc her development was better especially in the short time we get to know her, we've known Ellie for a game and a half plus a DLC.
She had ridiculous plot armour , without any weapon fighting ellie while she was fully stocked and winning. Tlou2 was great game but failed in making abby our favourite
Abby spared Ellie twice. and people still hate Abby. and also in the end. Ellie is more alone and traumatized for life opposed to Abby who has Lev and found the fireflies. Abby made peace with herself and moved on. Ellie felt like she needed to go after Abby after Abby spared her the last time. so in the end, who was really more damaged out of Abby and Ellie. Ellie lost Joel and Jesse, damn near lost prego Dina and it shattered her. Abby lost all her friends and her dad in their battle. so again think about it. who really did more damage? Abby who lost her dad and friends and was still able to move on. or Ellie who lost 2 people and couldnt rest. people that say Ellie lost more friends than just 2... Abby didnt kill those people. i mean look how much damage Ellie had to do just to have Abby feel something.
