0:55; Should note that when they raced in '22, Gabby was rushing back from a torn hamstring to try & make the Home Eugene WC Team and was clearly not in shape. Unlike certain others, I love that both Gabby & Abby who want to run on both 4x1 & 4x4 Teams in Paris have already jumped into both open 400m & 4x4 races this season to make their case! Hope we get to see them race each other at least once in each of the 100/200/400m this season 🤞
@@jhadebredenkamp97how is a torn hamstring an “excuse”? Let’s be for real now gabby is in a class of her own and someone like Steiner would’ve never beaten her otherwise
I'm with you 1000% on that thought and as I've said in Comments already I believe the dynamic duo of Gabby & Abby need to compete with and feed off of each other this summer in preparation for Paris. They need to stay healthy and Abby needs as many competitions this summer as her trainer can get her in with top tier runners.
@@NaNcs777 its a literal excuse and your comment would've made sense if you said Shericka is in a league of her own but Gabby struggles to run under 21.7 consistently so we can't really clap for her when there are people doing way more. She lost against abbey, accept it. Don't make excuses. Torn hamstrings are part of the game but she signed up to be an athlete so don't make excuses.
@@jhadebredenkamp97 So no doubt you've been in the comments section of the dozens of videos about Abby's bone spur last yr saying the exact same thing about 'no excuses'?!
The US needs them both and more. The Dutch, Kenya, excetra want every point they can get. With national prestige on the line I want to see a world lead and a photo finish. If those two do not put the fear of God into dem 'Makens dem 'Makens will put the fear of God into them. Time to send a message!
I love in these videos when they say “just an hour later” or “only an hour later.” Like that’s a whole eternity for a 400 based runner 😂. That 4x1 was a warmup! Her legs felt great going into the relay not tired. “Sprint before you sprint.”
Nostradamus Is correct. Anyone in thé first race will go beyond their lactic acid limite. I wonder how someone can recuperate in such a short time span. Personally, once I hit my lactate threshold I am shoved into recovery mode for 72 hours on average. That shows the high level of condition athletic participants are in.
I'd put my money on Gabby at this stage.... The funny thing is each of their 3 races... one or the other wasn't at their injury-free best. So would be cool to see both fresh and without injury go head to head. I believe Gabby is the fav but I also think it could be a close FAST race when the Finals come about.🔥🔥
@@alexarihani2902 Yeah that's why I figured it would take the time until now to Paris to have both at top level, although I kinda disagree about Abby not looking good. She's only ran couple races and won them all... lol. Hardly looking bad for a start of a season, especially considering her off season operation. Still have Gabby as favorite tho, even if both were 100%, but it would be close.
Where do you see the schedules? When I was a kid in the 70s, we could always catch track and field on ABC Wide World of Sports. Now, I only see highlights days or weeks later on social media.
@@Lolsweetamazone123. Can you show evidence of that claim? Please provide irrefutable evidence. I saw the same accusation on RU-vid. I had to set it aside. There has been no governing body that is responsible for testing that has said she has failed any type of drug test.
Gabby by a mile, Abby will make it to the rostrum too. Time depends on the wind. I see it slightly under 22s with a mild headwind (-0.1 to -0.3 m/s). Good preps for both en route to Olympics 💪
Gabby should win. Abby is still getting back into fitness. I suspect Gabby will run sub 21 high and Abby will run 22.2 or somewhere close. When the trials roll around Abby should be in the proper shape to go 21 high and make the Olympic team.
It's funny how he brings up the 3 times the two of them have raced against each other. He never mentions how many times Abby and Sha'carri have raced each other at 100m and 200m. The reason why is because Sha'carri has beaten her each and every time they have raced. That includes while in college and as a professional. Just in case you Abby fan boys didn't know Sha'carri is also younger than Abby.
Roy b, the Femke Bol lover & fanatic, lol----------well, this race is happening on the 18th of May in Los Angeles, California, USA.🤣🤣🤣---My advice to you is, do not watch this race because when you see how fast Sydney will be running, you will lose the little faith you have in Femke Bol, lol
Gabby has a great stride and looks really good through the entire race. Abby's stride is not as big, kinda like Richardson's. If those two would open up their stride, they would really be unbeatable. Think a healthy and smooth Gabby is going to be hard to beat.
@RANDOMZBOSSMAN1 Exactly !!! As long as Gabby and Sherica Jackson are on top of their game she won't get first in the 200. But I don't think either of them will beat Sha'carri in the 100 when when its medal time.
If Gabby loses this race it would be a major disappointment in her career; thus, Gabby will easily win the race. Hyping an athlete with never win a race, only performance wins on a track. NO CONTEST, GABBY!
I noticed that you have Marion Jones as number 5 for fastest 200m of all time. Marion Jones who was stripped of all of her Sydney Olympic medals for being a drug cheat.
Yeah ..but the question was Thomas or steiner ..? Which is kind of a no Brainer .. Thomas is the strongest runner ,fastest and still progressing not sure if we've seen her peek yet .. but in the last couple years it's been Gabby Thomas beating all of the real runners ..that are pros not just collegiate. Including shacarri Richardson , and Abby steiner ..beating them consistently..so this question is obvious Thomas is number one ..❤ not opinion based she already beat them 🤷 and each by a huge margin .
Not even close, stop that nonsense. She has failed to make the cut upon numerous occasions. She's an excellent athlete but in the same category as a Gabby Thomas come on now 😂
Looking Forward to 21-30 June USA Track & Field Trials then onward to July 26 to 11 August 2024 Olympics in Paris. The Elite of the Elite will show up to compete for Individual Medals. Of the 2 only Gabby Thomas has medals on the World Stage: Bronze in the Tokoyo Olympics (200 meters) and a Silver at 2023 World Championships. No one is going to beat S.Jackson in the 200 meters. If she is 100% healthy.
These two women need each other. I am a huge fan of both these women and there is zero doubt in my mind that both will rep the USA in Paris. With what was no doubt a long and sometimes grueling recovery period from the bone spur surgery , Abby has some competitive rust to shake off I'm thinking. In her breakout 2022 season this woman ran sooooo many races but here's the thing, I think Abby needs to be more active in terms of competitions than most other women. At the worlds in 2022 after competing in a very long NCAA season she was truly brilliant... Was she on weary legs ... Yea she was , but not that tired . She simply didn't have the options available to her as a pro because that's the kind of team mate and person this young woman is. My point in all this is even though she was used like an Alaskan sled dog over the 2022 season she just missed peaking at worlds by a fraction. One meet to late as it were. And still was absolute dynamite in the relays but just nothing left in the tank for the 200. She and Gabby and Julian Alfred are the the best 200m runners in America right now. yes that includes Shacarri. But with Julian reping is it Barbados? In the Olympics , that means it's definitely the Gabby/Abby show at the 200m distance. And yes , Gabby is the faster of the two...and Idon't look for that to change anytime prior to Paris. But they absolutely will push one another.... All the way to France.
Abby Steiner needs to concentrate on the 400 meters (with the 200). Forget the 100 meters. At the 400 meter distance she could possibly become the best in the world!
@siervosirviendo Gabby is very fast but to say Abby is not a fast runner is disproven by her many, many victories. When she was at the U. of Kentucky, Abby Steiner won the 2022 Bowerman Award as the most outstanding woman in track and field. Steiner is the first athlete in Kentucky history to win the Bowerman. In 2018, Gabby Thomas was named to The Bowerman Post-Conference Championships Watch List but she was not selected as the winner.
Why are ppl still talking about this white woman... You mean where Gabby was literally hurt and got last place?... She came back the next year and dominated...Abbey hasn't done anything in two years and the hype train still continues for some reason...she cant win events... And trash videos like this that still crop the picture and don't show the actual place Steiner got in that meet which was 4th....Steiner is not a special talent
