These commercial breaks came from an old beta tape recording of YOUR SHOW OF SHOWS back when it was re-run on ABC very late at night / early morning. This recording was made on October 5, 1976. The person who originally recorded this tape appears to have gone to sleep after pressing "record", allowing the machine to record the sign-off edition of the news and station sign-off. Unfortunately, the original owner later recorded over the tape, so what you see here is what survived. What I find to be interesting is what pokes through the static after the sign-off. The tape was recorded from the Los Angeles ABC affiliate, but it's the KFMB CBS Channel 8 San Diego slate that hovers behind the static.
