The only memory I have of The Wayne Brady Show, one I'll never forget, is when Wayne Brady had on this guy named Jim. It was one of those "Look at this inspirational story, we're gonna do this guy a favor" bits that daytime talk shows often do. The Wayne Brady Show's gift to Jim was an elegant steak dinner. And Wayne Brady wanted, or at least was supposed to, set this up in a sort of folksy, down to earth "Hey I know I'm a super successful celebrity but I wanna just connect with ordinary people" type of way. And so he says to Jim "Ya like steak, Jim?" A line that I'm sure I've heard elsewhere before in similar "Though we come from different backgrounds let us connect as brothers" situations in movies and stuff. See, but Jim does not like steak. So he says "No..." having no idea that The Wayne Brady Show is giving him a steak dinner. I don't use the word "cringe" often. So I will instead say my heart sunk in that moment. I still wonder if Jim had to eat the meal with Wayne Brady.
