I explain the many details of senko fishing like the right rod, reel and line, the sizes and best colors, the cast to the target, how to hold your rod and set the hook, to name a few!
Elvis is the king of Rock and Roll, George Strait is the king of Country, and Roland Martin is the king of bass fishing!!!!! Keep up the great videos King!
Roland Martin is by far the BEST how to instructor when is comes to bass fishing. I always learn something when I watch his videos. Thank you Mr. Martin.
Mr Martin, today I went fishing with the set up similar to yours.... 7ft Medium Heavy rod, bait caster, braided line with fluorocarbon leader double UNI KNOT....Texas Rig with a Bobber Stop, 1/8 oz slide weight and the world famous (297) Senko. Simple set up. And it produced. Was on an Outback Kayak. Folks... Mr Martin knows the deal. Nothing funner than feelin’ that line twitch droppin’ it down and then snatchin’ that rod up to see and feel it bendin’ down with a fish on the end of it. Just pure wholesome good times. Than you Mr. Martin!
I know man I have a outback too.i just got into this kayak catching bass thing and its brought so much joy to my life. Its great simple fun. 12 hours feels like 3 hours when I'm out there fishing
Are you jealous because you don't know how to FISH like Roland Martin that's what it sounds like to me Roland Martin has been around the block he is 80 years old
I appreciate the ole schooler workin RU-vid and helping a lot of us regular folks catch more fish. I really appreciate that its not all edited....it shows a pro losing worms...casting into the bushes etc.........your a good man RM.....keep the vids coming
I love the more informal format of these, I grew up watching Roland and this is even better than the old TV show, I feel like we are just hanging out talking about bassin.
I believe I just hit the jackpot on bass fishing info. I’m a beginner and I’ve learned more by watching just two videos of Mr Roland Martin’s. I can’t wait to apply what I’ve learned .
All ive heard for over a year is fish a senko ( mainly from rolands utube).Only caught one bass all year trying everthing and then today threw on the 5 inch senko green and caught a huge 5 pounder. Personal best. All thanks to roland!! U the man roland
Thank you for your video. I’m picking up fishing to teach my son how to fish and your videos seems the most informative and instructional. Thank you so much! SUBSCRIBED!
I learn so many techniques and gain so much information from you. I just want to thank you personally for doing what you do. I have watched your shows all my life and by far you are my favorite pro .. 👍👍👍
Thank you for an awesome lesson . I can not wait till to fish tomorrow morning. Thank for sharing your expertise on RU-vid. I watched your show when I was a kid but your channel is even better.
You are a great American Mr Martin, I feel lucky to have grown up watching you and now your son Scott. The love you both have for the sport is great to watch.
Mr Martin, Your RU-vid channel is really coming along great. Thank you for taking the time to make and share them with us. I have been meaning to write THIS comment on several other previous videos...the only thing I would recommend is can you please use one of those clip-on microphones (the separate ones that attach onto your shirt)? Because unless you are directly close to the camera microphone it becomes difficult to hear you. The one on your shirt would allow you to move around and still be loud and clear for us. Thank you. Keep up the great work. Blessings continue for you, your family, and friends. +++
My buddy from work turned me on to the senko in pumpkin red shimmy shammy. I have never seen a plastic lure. One cast, one catch! He just slayed them on this lure all after noon. I tried jigs, spinner baits, frogs and watermelon salamander. Yes, I caught fish but nothing like he did. He finally gave one. I caught a 6 pounder! I am sold on the senko! Now. Please try this lure. Texas rigged. Shawn
i went out last evening to a local private lake that gets fished quite a bit..i was there for the last hour of daylight and caught 3 bass. Roland's method is as good as gold. Thanks buddy
Mr Martin, I need to tell ya. I'm 50 years old and have loved to fish all my life. I have never been very good at it and have never had anyone that could teach me. My wife and I stumbled upon your you tube channel and have been hooked ever since. You have an excitement about you that is infectious. and you are a fabulous teacher. Long story short, and the reason why I wrote this. The other day i took the things you teach on your videos. from tying the knot to how to attach a worm to how to fish it and went fishing specifically for Bass. and would you know I actually caught two. The first time in my life I fished for bass specifically and caught anyI want to thank you for spending your time on this and you have a viewer for life.
I think that's we like Roland so much he dont brag or exaggerate he just keeps it simple and you can feel his passion your my favorite bass you tuber RM
I watched the video several times, writing notes on how to fish the Senko but, above all, your tackle. I am not yet a sophisticated bass angler. I have just started with braided lines, leaders and so on. Never tried baitcasters. so far. I fish from the bank and can only claim to have a decent command on dragging a watermelon seed Zoom Trick Worm. The sethook I do most of the time horizontally for wider sweeping action. I didn´t know at first you are the great Roland Martin I had heard about here in Spain on numerous occasions. I love the way you explain things (I am a Math teacher too). I am sure your students must have been delighted with you. Thank you very much Mr. Martin.
These videos are so refreshing. Sometimes I don't want to have to fast forward past 10 minutes of video of people hanging out before fishing, or 2x video of people driving to where they're fishing. This is just right to the fishing and it's educational. Been watching you for 20+ years. You're the best Rowland keep these coming!
I can not get enough of your videos.Nobody shows the simple fishing stuff like you do.Just keep doing what you doing.Great fishing teacher like Hickok45 for shooting.God bless you.
Love you from Las Vegas Nevada ! I’m using a 297 Senko and have had great luck catching large mouth bass at lake mead. 6’6 rod on 15 lb braided with Texas rig Senko and size 5 hook. I keep getting better with time and your videos have helped me since I was a kid waking up at 6am to watch your show .
My father and I have been a fan of yours Mr. Martin for many years and enjoyed your fishing show on TV as well. We have learned a lot when fishing even though we don't have a boat. Good luck in your career sir!
Roland I grew up watching you on tv, and we are so lucky to have you on you tube now. This is way better and more personal than tv could ever get us. Great to see you out still getting bit. Keep the instructional vids coming !!! Love the knowlage
I have watched you for years and years and I always learn or remember something by not only watching, but listening...I caught my first fish on a black cream worm on the 6th of June 1970...used a buggy whip fiber glass rod and a Zebco 33 with 10 lb mono (and I thought at the time that 10 lb line was too heavy)...the technique (read about worm fishing in a magazine at the barber shop) was completely different from what you just taught...supposed to watch the line and give the fish slack line when it took off with the worm, then when the line stopped, wait a few seconds and set the hook...and if the hook set did not rock the boat, you probably missed the fish...I knew the technique worked, but it took a 10 minutes...so I tied my full size torpedo back on and caught a bunch more kentuckys for the fish fry...never really worm fished again until I got my first graphite rod...
Thank you, I need all the help I can get and your channel is where I keep coming back to for pointers, especially after a day skunked on the lake.. Keep posting, I'm listening!
Thanks for the great information, 60 and just starting bass fishing, have your book and love it, saltwater fishing my whole life, now live on a lake, time to start freshwater fishing!!
That's crazy, it's always been the other way around for most people. Fresh water fish all their life, and start doing salt water later on. They are two different art forms!
Miyagi exactly. It doesn't matter in which waters you fish. In my case, I live in Puerto Rico but far from the coast, I'm just beginning fishing on local rivers and lakes coming soon
You are a good teacher ,and we are you’re students of bass fishing ,thank you very much for passing on you’re knowledge ,as we all know some fishermen who treat their knowledge like gold, they don’t like to pass it on! Thx very much again
Such a pleasure to stumble upon your channel. Grew up watching you on TV. You and another guy from Tennessee thought me everything I needed to know about largemouths in late 70's/ early 80's. Thank you so much.
Roland, thank you so much for all your info. You're so informative and straight forward. All my fishing knowledge has started with your TV shows and now RU-vid. THANK YOU!
Thank for your years of teaching us how to be a better fisherman. It is always a pleasure to watch a master who enjoys sharing his knowledge of his craft.
Roland thanks , me and my sons are just getting into Bass fishing and we are hooked ! I love learning and now with RU-vid it’s easier than ever . Thanks again.
