@@EllaKelly-nq3qp rail, air…walking… The point he was making was that he won’t be in Queensland and therefor his taxpayer money that funds Queensland roads is a waste of his money in the same way abc funding is a waste for those who don’t watch it. Just because YOU don’t use something, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be publicly funded. That was his point. Not that he is happy to walk everywhere from his Queensland home lol
@@goldboy150 I know the point he was making, I thought it was a funny comment and responded in the same manner :) And besides, technically speaking, even if he was walking to the train station, he would still have to use the road. 😃
I used to trust and support the ABC absolutely. I stepped out of the bubble on one issue and am now appalled by the bias and misinformation on many issues.
Interested to know what that issue was. I also was a huge supporter of the abc but now find myself disappointed in their biased coverage on many issues.
@@kristinverge9889 I don’t usually go for conspiracy theories but the media, most big business, education and Iranian backed causes are definitely working with the left…they have been bought whether they realise it or not
That video report is terrible - it shows you how ignorant some people are, most Lebanese citizens understand what a blight on their country Hezbollah has been.
Your comment is woefully lacking in important details. 'Remove government funding, THEN make the ABC a subscription service.' Without the first part, people will seriously believe it should be both subscription based, AND tax payer funded.
Yet somehow you all know its biased without watching it... interesting how you think that works. A lot of people say the same things about sky news but never watch it, how do you think that works?
I wonder how such a well respected ABC could sink so low in such a short time? It seems that they must be reporting from the sewers with their twisted and wrong attitude.
The British Land Survey of 1945 showed that the Palestinian farmers only owned 3.3% of the land. The wealthy absentee Arab land holders (living in Damascus, Cairo, Aleppo or other cities) owned 16.5% of the land. The Jews owned 8.6% of the land. And, 70% of the land was State land, transferred from the Ottomans, to the British, and then to Israel. Over 80% of Palestinians at that time were impoverished and did not own land. Read the last few chapters of Mark Twain’s book “Innocence Abroad” (it’s free online) it was written during the Ottoman Empire and he describes the poverty Palestinians lived in at the time.
One correction is that the 80% were Arabs and not called Palestinians at that time, they only became Palestinians in 1964 before 1948 only Jews were called Palestinians. In the 1920’s over 500 000 Arabs came to Palestine to counter Jewish immigration.
ABC in Australia stands for. Australian Broadcasting Commission. Government funded left wing channel. Had to edit to corporation, as it changed in 1983 my bad.
I spent time in the Middle East many years ago and there was peace and harmony between Israel and Palestine, but there is more to this story than people think 🤔
The BBC over here is the same. Their Middle East correspondent, Orla Guerin (who is, as it happens an Irish republican), is an absolute disgrace of an apologist
Well they have the Science Guy, and no reflection on him, but imagine how many others they have to do even a better job. I do not know why the ABC is so determined to this kind of reporting. For me and my wife, who used to be significant ABC consumers, I note that apart from the weather and a few snippets in the morning we barley watch for 15 min. What a shame to see Australia's Flagship sink so low, but then have a look at what has happened with Quanta's and have a look what is happening in federal politics. People with personal agendas trying to bull on our pants with pliers, rather than good arguments and reasoning and understanding right from wrong.
Today, the most important study in colleges should not be physics, chemistry, arts or history, it should be journalism. The population has no idea what they teach there, things like "include a negative word in the title to raise clicks by 2%". That's what journalism is about today, selling negativity. Another lesson: "If it bleeds, it leads". You will never get facts, only reasons to click, click, click.
