Sad Man's Tongue! For sure! :D Even Michael Poulsen said, that this is propably the best "introduction" song for people, who want to start listening this band.
Played this song at my dad's funeral, my dad loved this band and we went to see them together only a couple months before he passed away thanks for the kind words after the reaction. Much love
@Joseph Blumenberg, it does indeed! Should we reveal the story of Lola Montez or let people find out on their own? In the words of my elitist son, 'Google It!" Peace.
Whitechapel ! Bring Me Home, you gotta bro ! You've been sleeping on Whitechapel for too damn long . The story behind the song and the lyrics kinda hit ya in the feels . One of their softer songs , but still with some of the heaviness they're known for
I can't get into Volbeat his voice just annoys the hell out of me, don't know if it's the autotune or what but I hate the vocals, if they did the same songs but replaced the Vocalist I'm sure I'd like them .
onelove101unity didn’t say they were bad cause they weren’t metal just would say they are more of a hard rock band. Our loved ones is my favourite and it is furthest from metal. This is just the abcs of metal so you’d kinda expect a metal song at least
@@Irontyde77 You're right, they're definitely more of a hard rock band and this song is certainly not metal, just saying that the two songs you guys mentioned aren't the only metal songs they've done. Their first album is heavier than most material they've put out to date!
Volbeat! Yes! Black Rose is one of my favorite songs! There's just so many though! Still Counting, Hangman's Body Count. Have a DOPE ASS day bro! Much love! 🤘🤘💚💚
About time man, Volbeat is a great band very underrated I think. Fallen is one of the first songs I heard and loved it right away. For Evigt is probably my favorite song, so good. I think you would really enjoy that song.
Rebel Monster... Evelyn... 7 Shots... Pool of Booze, Booze, Booza... The Human Instrument... Still counting... Caroline Leaving (Caroline part Two)... A Moments Forever... Devil or the Blue Cat's Song... 16 Dollars...
Okay so this is my first ever RU-vid comment, so here goes! I’ve always loved this song, but I had no idea of the meaning behind it. My old man (dad) would have been 70 this week and I’ve been struggling, but seeing this did feel like it was kind of fcking meant to be and has made me just think of the all the good times with him instead of dwelling on the fact he’s not here. Thank you Alex, your positivity and good vibes are super cool dude! Appreciate the well needed pick me up. Keep up the awesome work dude🤘🏻
Yes he definitely needs to do wage war songs like youngblood , gravity , don't let me fade away , Johnny Cash but with that song to be honest I prefer the stripped-down version I think it's a lot better and he should react to the stripped-down version rather than the original one even their new song Low kicks major ass
@@MaddDogg316 you must not know what Metalcore is I assume? Yes, it does have elements of punk in it, specifically hardcore punk. It's also crossover thrash and extreme metal, which is a subgenre of heavy metal, thus making it metal nonetheless. So in the end, Wage War and other metalcore bands, such as Trivium, All That Remains, Killswitch Engage, Demon Hunter, Cane Hill, and so on are still metal.
@@johnscalf2379, the difference between wage war and the others is every time I hear a wage war song, it sounds like I'm listening more to a Hatebreed song than any other of those bands and it's not even close. Many of these bands get thrown labels on them that are incorrect. They are far more post hardcore than metalcore. If anything, they are a fringe band that will sway to and fro between genres at times but their music heavily leans toward punk.
Oh man, this song brings back memories. This was the first CD I bought myself when it first came out and I listened to it day and night. Volbeat is such an iconic Danish band. If you really want a feel for what Volbeat is. I would suggest listening to the live version of "For Evigt". The lead singer sings the verse in English and the band brings another Danish legend on stage for the chorus where he sings in Danish. Volbeat was the first Danish artist to sell out "Parken" which is the Danish national stadium. I was there and it was truely an unforgettable experience. Love the words you gave at the end. Stay awesome :D Edit - If you don't want to do the "half Danish version" the English version of the song is called The Bliss :P
You are awesome I didn't even know that there was a different version of For Evigt gotta listen to that right now Edit- while The Bliss is a nice song For Evigt just sounds so good songs sound so much better in their original language than translations
“Cape of Our Heroes” is my favorite Volbeat song, but I think you should’ve reacted to either “Hangman’s Body Count,” “Black Rose,” or “Warrior’s Call.”
This is basically their "Nothing else matters", very popular, radio capable but by far not their best song, imho. if you want something heavier try "mirror and the reaper" or anything older by them, great band
River Queen, Doc Holliday, The sinner is you, Our loved ones, Boa [JDM], Pool of Booze, Booze, Booze! You could literally pick any Volbeat song and enjoy it! ANY SONG! So many to choose from, those are some highlights, but they’re all good. So good!
MaddDogg316 are you from New York ? I call people shmucks too... haha. Punk ? Well for punk ya got Dropkick Morphies, Babies With Rabies, Bad Brains, Misfits, and stuff of that nature that a lot of people don’t know about. My dad was a vocalist for a punk band and opened for Bad Brains. I prefer not but bands in categories like “metalcore”. If it sounds good to me then I listen to it. It’s not like I only like “metalcore”. You’re taking it a bit far when you say these are punk bands we are talking about bud. ABR ? Certainly not punk unless you’re fucking deaf. 😂, same goes for Killswitch, Fit For A King, and Wage War. Definitely metal. Not rock. Not punk. It’s metal. Innovation ? Doesn’t need that to sound good. I listen to a lot of shit like Thy Art Is Murder, ABR, I Am, Extortionist, Shadow of Intent, and a shit load you probably don’t know. I can guarantee I know everything you’d throw at me. Unless you’re an old ass elitist like you’re coming off as :)
One of the things I like about Volbeat is how unique their vocalist sounds. Not a lot of foreign bands get popular here in the States, unless they're strictly metal, so it's nice to see these guys do that.
Thanks Alex. You are so right about people having deep feelings in this song. The week this came out I bought it, a weeks later my father died. Then only two days later my best friend passed away. I shed some tears listening to this song. Volbeat can be real heavy or Rock & Roll or a bit Rock-a-Billy. Us Danes are damn proud of them.
Nice reaction! Love Volbrat; try The Bliss and Good-bye Forever. I love their style and vocals as well. (W) for Within temptation: FROZEN. It tackles domestic and child abuse. It's from their 2007 album, The Heart of Everything.
And fyi....i am "that guy". This song means a lot to me. My dad died at 57 yrs old and I was 20 years old. I miss him everyday. After I watched this video, I walked into the family room, kissed my 15 year old sons forehead and told how much i love him and how proud I am of the young man he is and is becoming.
Totally, the band is fucking awesome. By the way, if you guys wanna hear Floor Jensen + Sharon den Adel, just hit After Forever - Beyond Me, I just love this song.
Thank you for being the first one of my favorite Reactors to do Volbeat. Volbeat is an amazing band and really deserves to be heard, and "Fallen" is truly an amazing song, and I always get emotional when it comes on... I really hope you continue to listen to Volbeat, and I hope some of my favorites make it to your channel! That said, you should definitely give these two a shot :) Volbeat - Guitar Gangsters and Cadillac Blood or Seven Shots... for real.
You're right dude. My dad past away almost 10 years ago, and there's no day without memories about him. He is still my hero, and gimme the force to fight everyday with the hope that he's someowhere looking at me and i hope he's proud to see me becoming the men that i've become. This is almost make me cry everytime i hear it. It means a lot to me, and i wanna thank you so much to make this video. You're listening to this song in the way you should. (Sorry if my english isn't that good, i'm french at least 🤙)
i like volbeat i would rather you reacted to Heaven nor Hell or Still Counting or The Hang Man's Body Count Volbeat is nothing flashy but nothing out of place
Hey Alex! Just wanted you to know that what you said really hit deep. I lost my dad when I was 17 (I'm 34 now), and that had a huge impact on how I went about living my life from that point on. I tried to hold up the values he had teached me while he was alive and still do today. He has had an indescribable impact on the person I am today and I feel that he's been with me through all the ups and downs that go along with basically "becoming an adult". So...I guess what I'm trying to say here is: Thank you...for uploading this and keeping me on track on what really matters in life. Take care!
Don't you think this channel has had enough of metalcore already? There are other sub genres out there, you know. Ones that our beloved youtuber hasn't explored yet.
Absolutely not. A band as great as Killswitch Engage basically founded it and it contains great bands like August Burns Red, UnderØath, Fit for a King, Wage War, Wolves at the Gate, and a bunch of others (I don't know if you count Beartooth but I do). I think it's the best sub-genre to be explored.
Can y'all take your punk bands somewhere else. They are far more hardcore than punk. Metalcore is one of the weakest sub genres of metal. No innovation whatsoever. On top of that, a bunch of bands that call themselves metalcore don't even make metalcore music, it's mostly post hardcore, which is punk. Also Killswitch didn't invent metalcore. You don't even know the history of your favorite sub genre. Bunch of uneducated schmucks. Y'all are the reason this list sucks so much.
Wintersun - Time live @ sonic pump re-mastered Wintersun - Loneliness Since you liked Sons of Winter and Stars, you're going to love Time. If you want something calmer and different with a great vocal range, Loneliness is your drug of choice.
There are a lot of people doing "reaction videos" on YT, but you, my good sir, are THE one that I keep returning to. Your reaction videos are so much more authentic. The fact that you don't constantly stop the video to give feedback and "suggestions" is a credit to you. Keep it up!
@@MaddDogg316 can you not be a rude internet troll? Metal is metal. If it's heavy I love it. Doesn't matter what"subgenre" it belongs to but please keep your opinion to yourself. If you have a suggestion you're welcome to it but keep the negativity out of the comments please.
@@societylabeledme, fair enough, i was rude. But im not wrong. This list is a terrible showing of what metal is and its because people who dont know metal keep requesting non metal or fringe metal bands. Case in point, freakin volbeat.
These are just suggestions to listen to, don't worry about reacting to all/any of these of course. Still Counting Dead but Rising Lola Montez (who was also an interesting historical figure, lived from 1821 to 1861) Seal the Deal Heaven Nor Hell Guitar Gangsters and Cadillac Blood Black Rose The Devil's Bleeding Crown
