The most messed up thing about this to me is Dariush is getting played so bad. He needs a new manager and a new media gameplan. If this were Islam/Gaethje/anyone else Ali would have been screaming to the media days ago to get him the backup spot. From my perspective, it looks like Ali is defending his client after the situation resolves itself. Honestly I think Volk should be the backup, but I also think Ali has enough leverage that he could have helped his client possibly get a title shot. Ali just knows that this time Islam won't pull out and Volk would be a bigger ppv (aka more money in Alis pockets). Dariush needs to realize having the best manager is useless if he doesn't go to bat for you. He's way too good of a fighter and nice of a person to be getting pushed around like this.

I agree with you Beniel should dumb Ali cause he's getting screwed over by Ali and team Khabib. Where I disagree is I thing Beniel deserved to be backup at 280...the proper thing was Beniel vs Islam to fight it out. Ali would've never allowed that match to happen. Charles already took out Another one of his client Justin, he wasn't going to have his other 2 155ers take eachother out for title contention. Beneil got hurt fight against Islam never happened, but listening to his interviews Beniel was ready to come back in August...he didn't have surgery. I guess he's fully recovered and magically fighting on the same card with Islam...it's politics! That's how Islam and Khabib have padded records they cherry pick their fights with their Manager...I wouldn't be suprised if they paid Beniel to step aside...all these months Beniel never really asked or was very vocal for a title shot almost as if he didn't want one...now he's a little more vocal
