Great video Will. What did yours average at 8 weeks? Mine r around 22kg average at 8 weeks DLWG anywhere from .2 - .425 or so. Happy enough with average but u always want them that bit heavier. Lol.

Are thé lambs eating creep as well.? They look well but disappointing gain. Would like to see them closer to 300 mark for twins

Hi Raymond, yes on creep now too. I’d totally agree. Last year they were hitting that. I definitely think the scald has knocked a few back which is frustrating

Keep a close eye on the sheep for maggots noticed afew lambs wiggling there tales that normally means they have fly strike in around that area

Some are already castrated but we won’t do them now at this age

Will, do the meat companies have strict weight limits/requirements for the lambs they buy in? Does that mean you never aim to fully grow your lambs?

Hi Peter, yes if they’re going to supermarkets they have a cap on weights and any higher you get a reduction in price. Luckily we sell to a local butcher so not as strict

Lambs done well. If you run them through footbath with blue stone it will get rid of scald. It would have been an ideal time when you had them in to do them. Are the lambs eating creep?.

Yeh just started them on creep. Yes you’re right I need to get them through a footbath
