16:25 i was in my 20s when this show originally aired, but i've now reached the point in my life where "Not dead yet" has more meaning to me, and is a thing I say regularly for no reason at all.
Ha! Same! And I was only in my teens when it aired. But I still say it pretty much whenever something turns out slightly less badly than it might have.
Two of the most beautiful , coolest and funniest women on earth complimented by the best female comedy cast ever ! Just saying for people that say women ain't funny Ricky ..
Summer of '96, My friend subjected me to one of the most difficult endurance tests ever ... He was recovering from surgery and I was taking care of him. He insisted that we sit and binge-watch Seinfeld (HIS favorite show, NOT mine!) but I did... And I found out that I could come to hate a show even more after watching it! So to make up for Making me watch that dreck... A few months later for my birthday, He bought me the entire series of Absolutely Fabulous on DVD! We spent the whole weekend watching the entire series.!
"What's your Star-Sign Darling?" "Aqua-Libra" *reads horrorscope* "Uranus is in a good spot this month" "I'll be the judge of that darling!" AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA I ACTUALLY CRACKED UP.
I don't know why but I just love bloopers so I probably watch too many of them. But what I found interesting about this one was that, typically, I've noticed that in blooper reels where there are men and women both acting, when men make a blunder, they're like, "oh, he he, oops, I made a bad, so silly" but when the women (and even very highly paid and respected actresses) make a mistake they are super apologetic and even seem a little afraid when they make a blunder. But this reel is great because it's a cast of all women and when they mess up, everyone is cracking up and having a great time and no one feels like they have to apologize for anything. It's refreshing.
@@rhiannon0717 Maybe I am not watching enough of these blooper videos, but to me it seems as though the British actors (men and women) are quite reserved when they make a mistake compared to any American actors.
Ha, same, I always felt really sorry for Saffy, and obviously I know it's all just acting, but it's still good to know that Julia was never truly traumatised :P
@@DodderingOldMan I always thought they were unusually cruel to Saffy in Season 4. It's like they were literally out to ruin her life at every turn. It made me kinda uncomfortable.
When I see this, it reminds me of my ex, who passed away Oct 2011. He first told me about this show and tried to get me into it. I wasn’t really into it, only got into it not long before he went. During this same season too! I'll always remember him when I watch and think about Ab Fab.
I know you wrote this like 4 years ago, but my condolences and I think it's great you have something to remember him by. He had good taste about comedy I'll tell you :)
Isn't it amazing how a song, a smell or even an amazing show like AbFab can bring back memories. Having lost many people in my young life thus far, it is difficult not to get sad when these reminders come. As the previous person who commented said, I am so sorry for your loss. Death just ain't fair. Especially when its unexpected. I am not a fan of the cliche "s/he is in a better place now", " at least the suffering is over", or my worst, "oh you poor thing"!!! But I can assure you your partner had brilliant taste in Eddie and Patsy. Not everyone's cup of tea. How are things now 4 years later? There are some other great British comedies. I suggest "Little Britain", "The Katherine Tate Show", and a reality show called " Travels With My Father" - starring Jack Whitehall and his father. I am from South Africa. I'm not sure where you're from. But isn't it amazing how we can all relate to the experience of losing a loved one. Very brave of you to be so vulnerable. If you ever need to talk, I am a therapist. Message me your email address if you want to talk. Keep well!
@@patrickr5359 Dude.. his comment was written 4 years ago and his ex passed away 7 years, so most likely he's done his "talking" already. I'm not really sure if you are joking or serious. And death isn't supposed to be "fair", it isn't supposed to be anything, it just is what it is, like life.
@@YtCondonesAnimalAbuse hey there. No I'm not joking. The grief cycle has not time limit. Some people take decades to grieve. Your remarks are insensitive and I'm not sure who made you this persons keeper. I found the persons remarks touching which is rare today. Who am I not to offer a minute of my time to relate or offer an objective shoulder. Why do people like you piss on the good intent of others. Your remarks to me shadow your condolences to him. Now you seem like a schmuck. I was emboldened by your message of condolence. I thought your message was sweet. And I'm sure we could explore some controversial banter, but keep it as a dual dialogue and not an international statement. Its not cool calling me out like that on such a platform. I don't know if maybe you were having a bad day. I hope you understand my position more clearly.
@@patrickr5359 You took my comment a bit too seriously but I'm not surprised. I don't really care what you think of me but maybe you should get of your high horse, you are not the savior of RU-vid users. Goodbye.
mike travis She SOOO deserved that ovation from the audience, and I'm surprised they didnt keep that shot in the show. They could have easily cut to Eddy and Saffie's reaction and it woulda been a riot.
I was only 9 years old when this first came on and I remember me and my friends at school used to watch it. I remember it being followed by Ben Elton doing a stand-up show and we used to watch that as well lol
The Donna Karen/klein mistake would have been better left in as it adds to her confusion of being so busy she has no idea what’s going on. Just an outside observation
That line totally floored me! 😂 What a brilliant show, writing, acting and talented people before and behind the cameras! I just moved to London back then when it aired every Tuesday (?) night, I believe. Everybody was glued to the telly for that half hour. What a great time that was to be alive! 😁
This show rocked!! I was over due for a good belly laugh and knew I couldn't go wrong with watching some episodes! Thanks for sharing! I am over due for an AdFab binge!! Party starts now!! Let the tears of laughter begin!!
At 2:12 Jen is doing lines from the episode SEX and at 2:46 she doing lines from THE END... all in the same outfit (yet it was never seen in any episode)... so weird... doesn't make much sense. Made extra confusing since Patsy is wearing the same outfit here but different earrings. Saffy has the same outfit on as in SEX also but it is a scene for THE END cause Bubble is there with the cleaning outfit on. Saffy never does the lines about moving out of halls of residence in the actual episode 15:45 so I guess they reshot the entire thing (different setting too... from kitchen to sittingroom) so they could add on the future scene where Pats and Eds are old.
TI have been to paradise butI’ve never been to me is one of my favorite episodes called fear superb acting and you can see the deep relationship between Eddy and Patsy in that episode very sad when the friendship ends they were actually planning on ending the show after season 3 episode 6 but came back due to high demand
She appeared at least 2 times in the series Are You Being Served the 70s...I think it was, looking quite gorgeous. If I remember correctly, for one of them she sold perfume in Grace Brothers as a Bliss Girl....very appropriate name for her as a young, cosmetics, salesperson.
I don't think it's controversial at all, I remember Only Fools and Horses fell into the same trap when they had the perfect ending but couldn't resist coming back and every episode after that just tarnished it's legacy. Can't really think of one show that took a long hiatus and came back better?
@@Ang543210 That's okay! I just think they absolutely captured the 90s perfectly but then the newer ones seemed to have lost direction- Patsy being a goth? Saffy in the African clothes with that annoying husband? Some things are best left when they're at their peak. Don't get me wrong, I really do love them but the newer ones where trying too hard (in my opinion.)
What I LOVE about bloopers (in any show) is that the smiles, giggles and laughs are TEN TIMES more real than anything done when the show runs properly!!!
