Abha | A retelling of epic ramayana in the Margam format of Bharathanatyam . Concept and choreography : Parshwanath S. Upadhye Music . Rohith Bhatt Uppoor performed by Adithya PV , Shruti Gopal and Parshwanath S. Upadhye.
I had the fortune to see their performance in Pune. They used khadi clothes for attire. The choreography of this piece is very intricate. I saw many adavus and mudra combinations which seldom is seen. There were many stills and combination stunts which was new . What was more stunning were that the technical framework was never disturbed. Anybody could tell it is Bharatanatyam. It's a rare achievement with all these combo. In fact it is revolutionary! Hail u guys!!
I was fortunate enough to watch "Abha" for the fourth time recently at the Punyah Dance Festival 2023, and once again, it left me in awe from beginning to end. The performances by Upadhye and Adithya were nothing short of spectacular, but it was Shruti Gopal who truly stole the show as Abha. Her portrayal was so captivating and authentic that it felt like she was born to play this role. In fact, I found myself believing that she was the actual Sita! The beauty of the music in "Abha" was beyond words, particularly during those segments in the raga Desh. The melodies and rhythms blended seamlessly with the choreography, creating a mesmerizing experience that sent shivers down my spine. The combination of intricate nritta, expressive bhavas & abhinaya, and soul-stirring music transported me to another realm. Overall, "Abha" is a breathtaking production that continues to captivate audiences with its remarkable performances and enchanting music. It's a testament to the talent and dedication of Adithya, Shruti & Parshwanth, leaving a lasting impression that lingers long after the curtains fall. As one of your countless rasikas, I humbly request that you release the full video, allowing us to relish the entire performance to an even greater extent.
There is so much of grace in the lady. The men are amazing too - so vibrant, strong and graceful. The lady seems so lovingly centered, just watching her causes so much of healing within. She truly seems to have channeled Ma Sita here. Thank you!
Agreed. Parshwanath Sir and Aditya Sir were excellent as usual... But I couldn't take my eyes off Shruti Ma'am. Her expressions nailed it every second. Simply looking at her gave me a soothing feeling.
I read the Ramayana when I was about ten years old and I would *so* like to see the whole story presented by these talented people! Thank goodness for RU-vid!
It was shri rama n mata sitas Kripa on me. I witnessed full life of my deity yesterday. This piece of art gave me goosebumps every single second. It made me smile, laugh sometimes and made me cry when bhagwant was suffering when he had to leave maa sita. I could see sakshat bhagwan in them. Definitely vl see this again...
Perfection. That's the only thing I can say!! Just cannot stop watching it! The feeling I experienced, sitting in the audience while watching this performance was serene and heavenly. ✨✨✨

Seetha, a stealer performance. What a great rendition effortlessly!! Seems surreal. Ohh yeah I am now transported there. See all characters around me. Pure joy unto you.
It's about an Indian god called Rama . He is an incarnation of another Indian god , Vishnu . Vishnu has 10 incarnations . Rama is the 7th one . And those are the basics
Story of Rama, his wife sita and brother lakshmana. They were incarnation of Vishnu, goddess Lakshmi and the Anantshesha (the snake on which they both rest😅) they have relation of eternity

It is very important true bharatanatyam artists like Upadhyay have classes or concerts or workshops in North Indian cities lest the people will succumb to the flea bitten style of over rated naamdar bharatanatyam dancers or the abhorrent despicable Bollywood bharatanatyam .
