BxMxC👉 Bring Moa Chicken 🦊🤘🍗 Welcome back to the Foxhole, AbiMetal. Another song from Metal Galaxy 2019 album just like Brand New Day which is a song you can find an official live version at FOX_FEST 2024, it got Polyphia guitarists playing. This is an unusual BM song and you barely gonna find a song alike to another. Also don't worry about the lyrics in this, you'll find some songs with lyrics just to have fun and not so much deep meaning and then others with more meaningful lyrics. BxMxC (or just BMC, x is just a cool space bar) probably means BabyMetal Cypher but fans like to have fun saying stand for Bring Moa Chicken, because Moa loves fried chicken 🍗 SuMetal is taking a real challenge with this new trap/rap metal song, she needed to find her flow, she can spit some bars and killing it on this one with the swag. She actually rap since their very first song Doki Doki Morning but of course this one is on another level. But the hip hop and rap elements are more clear on songs like "Iine!" or "Onedari Daisakusen" way before this BxMxC song and more recently with RATATATA. This song was the last one added to Metal Galaxy 3rd album and is an exclusive track (along with "↑↓←→BBAB") for the Japanese edition. It's clear that they took a challenge on this in such a short time, and no wonder why they push this song during live shows outside of Japan and fans love to rocking out during the recent World Tour 2023/2024. The MV and album track got an auto-tune effect for artistic reasons but just like you saw live is when SuMetal voice really shines as well the girls with the badass dance choreo. This is a promotional clip from the DVD/BD of Legend MM MomoMetal's 21 Birthday live at Yokohama Arena, they released a couple of more songs, but the real highlights were MomoBanger (which is Headbanger!! with MoaMetal singing the second part), and Momo Taro (actually Meta Taro and again with MomoMetal singing), don't miss out those songs if you don't know, but go for the original version first to get the differences. Talking about exclusive songs they got two songs from Metal Resistance album, one is "From Dusk Till Dawn" released internationally (you can find the only proshot clip live at Budokan 2021), and the other one is Syncopation, released locally and recently they upload a live version at Legend MM, Thanks for sharing this and see you next time.🦊🤘❤️
Thanks for the info Jake, I've seen from dusk to dawn requested a few times now. Must add to the list! I also think I need to hear Su spit bars... more RAP haha I would be shocked. 🤘🦊🤘
@@Abigirl_Reacts "From Dusk Till Dawn" is an outstanding thing... IMHO, it´s a genre of its own. And Su-Metal in this is outworldly amazing. It is the only song so far (AFAIK), which got an own caricature to depict a still ongoing discussion between fans, if she sings "in the end" or "in the air" 🤣 You´ll hear it yourself (and be blown away, literally), if you do a reaction to it. It´s worth it!
The only way to introduce yourself to Headbanger is the Legend 1997 performance. There are other great performances of this song, but THIS IS THE ONE to make your biorhythms right with the Fox God! You will see the definition of kawaii metal, and understand how Babymetal became legendary to begin with!
BMC stands for "Baby Metal Cypher" Cypher is message written in secret code, a Cypher battle is when rappers get together and try to challenge each other for supremacy. Su is basically telling rappers to put on their big boy pants because she is coming after them. BMC music video is one that is a must watch to understand the whole concept of the song, it has a Mortal Combat Game vibe and some really cool visuals but as with all their music the live versions always sound better and hit harder.
Great reaction - and yes Su-metal was rapping .... I have 'borrowed' this information (again) - "They talked about 'BxMxC' in an interview. SU-METAL: That was my first rap experience. For most of my recordings up until now, I would sing “la la laa” to create a sort of vocal line, and then lyric writing began based on that. But it was different for this track, they had a backing track and lyrics, and then told me to try rapping. So at first I was still trying to figure it out. In hiphop they call it…it was like…ah, I forget! MOAMETAL: Wasn’t it…f-…fall? SU-METAL: Uh…what was it… KOBAMETAL (who happened to be there): Flow? SU-METAL: Flow! (laughs) To get a feel for the flow, I made a lot of different attempts to figure out what would be good. Like how to descend and ascend in pitch, and which timing would be the best to try the pitch changes. Even for the same phrase I’d try going a little ahead of the beat or a little bit behind it, while keeping the whole track’s balance in mind." BxMxC (the x's are punctuation) probably means BABYMETAL Cypher (or BABYMETAL Metal Cypher) - cypher being some sort of rap battle apparently. However, in another interview - the first question: Q: How are you feeling right now? MOAMETAL: Hungry. I need to eat fried chickens. So many of us still prefer to think BxMxC = Bring Moa Chicken.🍗 This was a Japan exclusive track on the Metal Galaxy album released in 2019 along with another track (and the only one they have never played live) 'up down left right BBAB' (I can't do the arrows). Neither song was on the international release. The studio recording for 'BxMxC' was not liked by some fans - too much processing, effects and autotune on Su's vocals. Some even thought they could and would not be able to play it live without all the effects ... happily they were proved very wrong - as you just saw for yourself. Before watching the Moa and Momoko versions of 'Headbanger' (Moabanger and MomoBanger) you should watch the original - you need to know that and to understand the context of why they each took over lead vocals for their birthday special performances. 'Headbanger' live at Legend 1997 (Su-metal's 16th birthday concert in December 2013) is the one to watch. You can find a high quality video safe to use posted by abr metal.
@@Abigirl_Reacts Haha, I may have fat fingers, this time I didn't make a typo. I would post the link, but my comment would disappear. It should be easy to find.
@@Grington300 There is nothing significant about the performance of Headbanger from Legend 1997 concert though than any other concert. You could say maybe she should watch a regular performance of Headbanger, and maybe Legend S version on Su's 20th birthday.
@@Hymnodic True, but we know the performance at Legend 1997 was excellent, we know the crowd response was excellent and we know the video is safe to use, so as "regular" performances go it is a good one to recommend, which is why I did just that. Budokan Black Night would be another good one to choose, but on this occasion I didn't. Legend S would not be so representative since it was only Su and Moa, so the third element and the extra voice in the "hedoban hedoban" sections was also missing.
@@Grington300 She's said at least a few times in other comments that she is only interested in BM as they are now, and not their past. She's particularly interested in Headbanger because she wants to hear Moa and Momo sing.
Momo and Moa do sing backup but not necessarily on every song. During the early years of BM Moa and original member Yui had their own songs they sang lead without Su. Those songs were Sis Anger,GJ!,Onedari Daisakusen and 4 No Uta (Song 4). The duo were known as Black Babymetal. You should check out a video called The Not So Extensive Guide to Babymetal to learn the groups history. It's on the A Fox Song channel 🦊🤘
Headbanger from the Legend of 1997 concert is the version you should react to, it's epic. Also Monochrome from the PIA Arena show from last year is must see 🦊🤘
Great reaction! When you do the live version of "Monochrome", PLEASE watch the video titled "Babymetal - Monochrome (PIA Arena 2023 Live) Eng Subs" from the "For The Fox God" youtube channel, it is an amazing performance and has English subtitles already. 🤘🦊🤘
BxMxC is a song from Metal Galaxy, the album was released right after YUI left the group, so it was SU and MOA only. That was a difficult time for both of them, but more so for MOA indeed, she had to focus on dancing a lot, having to share the stage with different dancers, the Muscle Metal, the Avengers etc., so while she kept singing the parts she used to sing with YUI in the old songs, and even manged to perform Black BABYMETAL songs as solo, most of the songs from the MG album have minimal choruses, or have them on backtracks, to help her in a way. The Trilogy is a good example, SU does almost all the singing. Things changed a lot with TOO, and now that they're back as a trio, we can expext more from both MOA and MOMO in the next songs, as shown in Metali! and RATATATA. 🤘🦊⚡️
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。BxMxC (Baby ・Metal ・Cypher) is one of the songs that have been frequently played in BM's recent shows. I witnessed this very performance in Legend-MM Day-1 (March 2). 「おもしろかったですよ~😄」 Su's voice and Kamis' heavy play were amazing. My body was shaken by the undulation caused by them. And the dance moves by Moa and Momo hypnotized me visually. Su-Metal is singing about some established style which used to be revolutionary and literally "stylish" but has turned already obsolete like an "Illusion of Rusted Chain" (last phrase of Su's rapping). Lyrics are suggesting breakthrough in or challenge to some status-quo that includes the status of BM itself. We all know that Team BABYMETAL and our three divas have broken it relentlessly. 😍
@@Abigirl_Reacts Cypher rap refers to a style of collaborative hip-hop performance where a group of rappers take turns freestyling or performing original verses over a shared instrumental beat.
@@Abigirl_Reacts Rickwagner is right. "Cypher rap, often simply referred to as a cypher, is a form of freestyle rap that involves a group of rappers taking turns to perform verses in a collaborative and often competitive manner." You will understand what it means if you see the music video of BxMxC. Su and Moa (at that time BM was a duo) are competing with a group of guys that look like evil metalheads 😄.
This performance of BxMxC is better than any previous versions. The crowd is really into it. Su is changing her voice in it. Another channel with a musician breaks it down on a mixer, and you can hear growls in parts of it now, which he thinks may be Momometal. Su to me appears more aggressive in this performance. My favorite version of this song.
Enjoying watching your journey! Yeah a lot of their stuff is built around crowd interaction of some sort .. lots of catchy easy to sing choruses, crowd chants, choreo the crowd is meant to copy, etc. Reason being, I believe, is to draw you in and make you really feel part of the show which is just so cool and fun! This version of this song is a great example of how incredible Su's singing has become. Yeah she was always great but now she's superstar level! My wife and I saw them in Houston and Dallas last year and Su's voice live is something you feel hit your chest! Also, the stage presence of them is something you can seemingly feel too. In Dallas we were very close to the stage (something that can't happen in their big Japan production shows) and the amount of personal crowd interactions we got was so wild! We got a smile and wave directly from Moa. They do make the crowd feel special! Also the in sync dancing up close in person without constant edits and cuts is absolutely mezmerizing. They are legit star level dancers now also! Edit for a clarification, in case others hadn't said yet. Su's flankers, Momo and Moa, CAN sing extremely well but 98% of the time just do backing harmonies and call and responses either with Su or with crowd chants. Main reason I believe is that they do the insanely relentless constant full dancing the entirety of every single song. Notice Su just does half the choreo usually since she needs to be more stable to utilize her insane voice. Because of this, for ME anyway, it makes the moments where Moa and Momo DO sing that much more exciting haha
Great reaction, thanks! This is waaaaaay better than the studio version. Actually, I was skeptical with the song until I listened to the very first live performance from Legend Metal Galaxy. The song is from the album Metal Galaxy (2019) but it was initially released only on the domestic (Japanese) version. Su-metal totally slayed it here. She was on fire! 🔥🔥🔥 This is a very aggressive rap-metal song with little room for Moa and Momoko's backing vocals, chants or harmonies. Just Su spitting bars as they say. 🤘🦊
🤘🦊🤘 Su is the main singer, Moa and Momo mainly crowd interaction and dancers, sometimes they do harmonics, their positions are "Dance and scream"... so if you expect them to sing every song you will be disappointed, but they CAN sing, for sure.
Got it, I think I understand! I'm just used to all the girls in typical girl groups singing but baby metal is far from typical. I'm learning this quickly haha 🤘🦊🤘
@@Abigirl_Reacts There IS a subsection of Babymetal called Black Babymetal which is when Su takes a break and Moa and Yui (the girl who had to leave due to health reasons) would take over and sing and dance without Su, so you COULD check some of those out too. Su also did solo's without the dancers to give the dancers a small break too.
This song is such a banger live lol. Definitely check out Headbanger, live legend 1997 next. After that, check Monochrome the live and the first take version, then Catch me if you Can, Divine Attack, Yava, Awadema Fever, Syncopation, Kagerou, Road to Resistance, Megitsune. The live is always, ALWAYS, better.
GREAT REACTION !! I would surjest that you do a Monochrome trio: Lyric video, live on first take, live PIA Arena. This way you will see how the girls, sorry woman by now, can hit you in 3 different ways with just 1 song, its mind blowing.
Saw them last fall in Milwaukee. Seeing them again this fall in Madison. My advice to anyone BM-curious is simple: GO. There is no show like a BabyMetal show. It is pure, distilled fun. I never leave the house and I'll gladly drive hours to see the girls.
Good reaction. Every Babymetal song is different. Every touch in different genre and you never expect what you get. Song by song you listen, you going more in Fox Hole 🦊 🤘 1:43 - BxMxC release 3 years ago at 2020 as single.
About Su's voice: in this particular performance she's even putting some extra sass on the vocals we hadn't really heard before with this song. The album version is kinda meh because they put a weird melodyne filter on the high part of the vocal, whereas in the live versions you hear Su on her own.
You do really upbeat, fun reactions. And you're very observant. Which is cool. This was a dynamite time to react to BxMXC (Baby Metal Cypher) live because of the release of this version. Su really spreads her wings and soars on this one. You do see why folks are so adament about live videos! One thing when you're thinking about which videos to watch is when OFFICIAL live is in the video title. Those have the studio Audio synched over a live performance. If you can find a Pro shot of that same performance you get the whole live experience-like here. And Babymetal is at heart a live band. Definitely check out "Monochrome" live at PIA Arena, April 2023. It is epic, beautiful and is from the first concert where Momo officially became a member of Babymetal-lotta joy on the stage. I'm including the link to that performance: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xAZeBm0o7Jo.html
Not sure if that was a typo and you included "live" by accident, but just to clarify with official videos, if "Live" is in the title the audio is also from the live show. The audio is from the studio recording if the word 'live' is not in the title.🦊🙂
@@Grington300 Very well might have messed that up. It can get pretty arcane. I was thinking in this case particularly of "BABYMETAL - PA PA YA!! (feat. F.HERO) (OFFICIAL)" as compared to "Pa Pa Ya!! feat F.Hero (2019 Live with F.Hero live) Eng Subs." I'll try to be more careful, thanks.
if you wanna see the mv, may I suggest "Megitsune". It was back when the girls are only early teenagers, but my God they were already good back then. You'll hear Japanese instruments quite a lot in this and the video are amazing
This is a Su-metal only song, as far as vocals go. Headbanger normally is also Su-metal only, but both Moa and Momo did special versions during shows on their birthdays - just look for Moabanger and Momobanger respectively and you'll find 'em without much trouble. So live vs album? Here's my take: I have been to 4 Babymetal shows in and around Seattle between 2016 and 2023 (side note but I'm so happy that I got to see two shows with Yuimetal!), and I can agree with what everyone has been saying. The thing is, while I LOVE their studio recordings, the live performances are always on a whole other level. Maybe for me that has partially become nostalgia for attending shows at this point, lol This song in particular - the studio recording got mixed and all so it sounds great, but to hear Su-metal powerbelting this live is just WILDDDDD Either way, you can't go wrong! Babymetal is always good no matter how you choose to enjoy it! Kitsune up! 🦊🤘🔥
Oh let me edit a bit: it's Su-metal with backing growls from... I'm not sure? Someone in the Kami Band I think. I hope someday they do a version where Momo provides all of the growls (the backing track was recorded before Momo was a member)
I think another song you GOTTA check out since you really like her voice is From Dusk Till Dawn. I think that one will blow you away as well. IF you do Headbanger next, then you NEED to do the trilogy. Headbanger is the beginning song of a trilogy. If you DO decide to do that, then the song order is headbanger Live Legend 1997 (which is Su's birth year, not the year of the concert. It was celebrating her 16th birthday since her birthday was the day before, Akatsuki Unfinished, and Babymetal Death! Legend 1997. As for BxMxC, the meaning is BabyMetal Cypher. Thats what the letters stand for since, yes, she did rap that one. Not one of my favorite songs as I'm not a big rap fan, but I appreciate the skill that goes into it, and I appreciate the effort she had to put into it to find her personal groove for that song. On a side note, for headbanger, on important birth dates, Su celebrates the other girls' birthday by handing off the mic and letting THEM take over. So should you ever wish to hear THEM sing, look for Moabanger, and Momobanger. One thing I WILL state with Momobanger as there is some .... debate I'll say, EVERYTHING you hear in Momobanger that looks like Momo sings, she DOES sing. There are some music channels that have analyzed the voice and isolated the voice and have pretty much proven that the singing WAS in fact done by Momometal. Some people just refuse to accept that for some reason and insist certain parts of her singing was just backing vocals. I don't want to ruin the surprise for you though so I'm not going to elaborate any further than that lol
@@Abigirl_Reacts well first it's a good song and a fan favorite, but second each member kind of adds their own magic to it, so it's worth checking out. But that being said, no matter what ANY of us tell you, remember it is YOUR channeland we're all here for the ride just like you! So if you choose to only do the Momobanger version, we'll still get excited to watch it. That being said ANOTHER option you could do is to watch the Momo version like you want to do, amd watch the OTHER versions when each girls' birthday hits since that is why they hand off the mic anyhow, to celebrate a milestone in their age. Typically they perform their concerts around their birthdays too.
With regards to the headbanger point, you will only really get the other girls if listening to their respective version. I am sure a lot of the Babymetal fans will not be opposed to reacting to all 3 main ones (Legend 1997, Moa's version (Legend M Nagoya 2019) and "Momobanger" (Legend MM)). I can't recall if I mentioned in a previous comment, but a lot of the songs in the newer albums ("Metal Galaxy" and "The Other One"), both released while Babymetal was just a duo of Su and Moa and don't really feature Moa (or, now Momo also). Some of the collabs they have done do feature them, but fairly briefly for instance Ratatata which you already know (wondering if you caught the scream/growls lol). In another 3-way collab (Babymetal X F. Hero X Bodyslam) "Leave it All Behind" Moa and Momo I think share a brief verse. If you do react to that one, keep in mind there are English closed captions (that work). I find the lyrics to that song very good. Plus, there is no live version that I'm aware of, so you are safe to react to the MV (it's an F. Hero song, so I don't know if his label is as intense with copyright)! The role of Scream and Dance (which is Moa and Momo's role) originated and still is largely to interact with the crowd, do choreography and provide some backing vocals. If I remember right, one of the comments in the past mentioned that in Japan it is generally considered rude to sing along when the lead vocalist is performing, so they had Moa and Yui do backup and lead chants/song parts to include the audience. Nowadays, I think the audience just knows everything by heart lol. I for one am looking forward to what kind of music comes out of Babymetal going forward with Momo on board!
Yes, and the earlier phase (with Yui) involved more backing vocals and even songs without Su. Abi will get there eventually...I'd love to see her reaction to Onedari Daisakusen and Sis Anger (both live)...but all in good time. 😁
Haha great reaction, BxMxC always slaps! It stands for “Babymetal Cipher”, or, more affectionately, “Bring Moa Chicken” 😂. Su had to learn to rap for this 2019 release, and she’s been crushing this live ever since! For *Headbanger:* Be sure to check out the *Legend 1997* version first. This was Dec 2013’s show for Su’s 16th birthday. You’ll get to see how amazing they were back in the day. Then: *Legend MM* version. This was same show as BxMxC in Mar 2024, for Momoko’s 21st birthday. In Babymetal tradition, she takes over lead, and goes from cute to “Momozilla” and back 😂. (Extra copy right warnings though for this version). Look forward to more!!🤘🦊
Definitely agree that the Legend 1997 performance of Headbanger should come first, though I would say that the Legend MM version should be saved for later in the Babymetal journey when it would be more meaningful.
@@Abigirl_Reacts I would really recommend checking out the Legend 1997 version first. The Legend MM version is a special performance that won't have as much impact if you don't watch the normal version first, and it'll be more likely to get blocked.
@@Abigirl_Reacts Hey Abi Metal! I too would like to suggest the Legend 1997 version first! Don't let their young age in the early years fool you, the production quality, their talent, and stage presence has always been you'll really do yourself a disservice by only checking out their new stuff. With that said, if you're dead set on Legend MM's headbanger first, then there are only compilations available at the moment due to copy rights. They're still good though. Your call afterall! 🤘🦊
@@Ganimal83 "Don't let their young age in the early years fool you, the production quality, their talent, and stage presence has always been you'll really do yourself a disservice by only checking out their new stuff." You´re damn right! And she might miss the most metal stage performance of all time (IMHO), "BABYMETAL Death" from the Legend 1997 Apocalypse concert +hint to Abimetal+ 🤣
Please do Headbanger music video AND the 1997 legend live one. That live performance is a ALL TIME CLASSIC. The music video is good too so that's why I'm saying do both but definitely the 1997 legend live if you only choose 1... but it'd be awesome if you did both lol
Yes, Momo and Moadid sing along at certain times throughout the song. Su drops her mic down and you hear voices from the other two. The video is reversed for us but if not for you the big screen behind them was flashing the lyrics for the most part
I actually think you should watch the not so extensive guide to babymetal. It will tell you basiclly alot of what you want know and stuff you may never have thought about
🔥🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥🔥 This is the song that made me buy the album twice (it is only in the Japanese releases). Generally, the live stuff is better, the only exceptions (in my opinion) being Megitsune, iine, Doki Doki Morning and Karate. You have to see the official music video for those four songs. BxMxC came out in 2019. It's worth watching the original video. In the official music video there's only Su and Moa, because Yui had left and Babymetal were at that time a duo. BxMxC stands for Baby Metal Cipher (or as some fans will say, Bring Moa Chicken 🤣). And yes, Su is rapping in this song. Prepare yourself for lots of surprises. Babymetal do a lot of different music styles and genres, which makes them perfect for collaborations as you have already seen. Moa and Momo have mikes for minor singing parts in some songs and to interact with the crowd. In this song they don't feature, but they would have during the whole gig. Next you need to do Megitsune or Headbanger 😉 I also love how, probably due to time difference, I'm getting your reactions at 7am (I live in Malta), so your videos are the first thing I watch. A perfect way to start the day. 😁🇲🇹
No way! Haha I release them at midnight USA east coast time so that when I wake up, I get surprise comments and views ^_^ it's also a nice way to wake up for me as well. Next on the list is... well you know I hate making decisions. But either monochrome, momobanger, or BMC original music video. I'm going to do all 3 just, WHICH ONE FIRST haha rock on Kenny! 🤘🦊🤘
@@Abigirl_ReactsI don't know if it's too much work for you, but you could do two reactions in one. For instance "Headbanger Live Legend 1997" which is an early live and highly requested, followed by "Momobanger" which is the recent live where Momo sings. And for other songs, you could do the music video first followed by a recent live version to compare. Just an idea 😉. But whatever you do, it's all good. 🙂 🤘🦊🤘
I love seeing you explore Babymetal and Electric Callboy 😃 I am also doing it right now 😊 I discovered Baby metal few months ago and i have searched and listened to "everything" there is on RU-vid already. From the release of Ratatata, the collaboration with Electric Callboy i have mostly been listening to Electric Callboy and still have more to discover about them. About Babymetal, they have already played around 10 years 😮 Yes, it's true. They were only 14-15 when they started. They have changed one member bcs of health problems 😢 I want to recommend few songs with them. They have many good ones but here are a few recommendations from me: Kingslayer-Bring me the horizon feat Babymetal (live in Japan) Monochrome Papaya feat F.Hero Headbanger. Have fun in exploring these two fantastic bands 😊
Great reaction. Yeah "Headbanger" live is gonna impress you. So will "Monochrome" either version. Momo and Moa (or Yui and Moa) do backing vocals, crowd hype, and dance. their official group roles are "Scream & Dance". All of the ladies have been doing stage performances from a very young age by western standards (starting around 10 yrs old). Yui Metal was one of the OG trio, but had to step down due to illness or injury in 2017 I think and Momo Metal was adopted in to take up her mantle in 2022 I think.
Great reaction, you see they are better live.. yes, headbanger should be next, but there are 3 separate versions (technically 4) you will need to start with legend 1997, with Su doing full vocals, then move onto moabanger, with Moa taking over the vocals, and finally momobanger, and I’m sure you can figure out what happens in that one.. Can I suggest either doing all 3 in one triple reaction, or 3 reactions in a row… believe me, all 3 are unique, and all are awesome… Much love from Australia 🇦🇺
Baby Metal Hypeee! This song was so cool and I had no clue Su-Metal could sing rap, I feel like their isn't anything she can't sing :D. I can't wait to see what you react too next ABIMETALLL!!! 🤘🦊🤘
What makes her performance of BxMxC even more impressive is that off stage, our little Suzuka is so sweet and dorky! But when she is on stage, as Su-metal, she becomes a 7 foot tall badass vocal beast!🤘🦊🤘
@@Abigirl_Reacts Yes, she learned this from Metallica. In an interview for a magazine she talked about this. Back in 2013 (Su-metal was 15 years old) at a music fest in Japan, Lars from Metallica visited them backstage during their set to see what they were about. Then the girls visited Metallica during their set. Su said that all the Metallica guys were so nice and kind, but she was surprised how they became like metal gods on stage, basically completely different people. It was from this moment that she realized she could be, or maybe that it was ok for her to be, Suzuka offstage and Su-metal onstage. When I read her say that in the article, it made me think that she had figured out it was normal to have an onstage persona...like how Beyonce becomes her alter ego "Sasha Fierce" when she goes on stage. I think because of this, she felt free to be more than her normal self on stage, which really helps with songs like "BxMxC" which requires more attitude. What is interesting is that in the "Ratatata" music video and in the "Leave it all behind" music video (which is a collab with F.hero and Bodyslam), both are recent music videos, you actually see Su-metal acting cute and a little silly like Suzuka in real life! Seeing her be like that in an official music video was really surprising to many of us long time fans. She normally only shows her cute and silly side when performing live during their concerts or festival sets. By the way, Metallica in 2017 asked BABYMETAL to be their opening act in Korea. Lars in an interview said they asked them because "we were astounded by their awesomeness".🤘🦊🤘
I recently got into Babymetal. So everyone is suggesting Legend 1997 concert which was on Su's 16th birthday (1997 is her year of birth). But there is a lot of context that is needed to fully appreciate it. The whole concert was themed around growing up from a J-pop Idol to a metal goddess. It starts with Ave Maria and both Yui and Moa offer the legendary neckbrace (revered to a drummer who had to wear one on stage, because he suffered a serious injury from head banging) to the big statue (A Maria statue, with Su's face?). Then the first song was a weird fever dream version of headbanger where Su had to playback, very pop/electronic feel. Then the next few songs were early songs but now they are singing, but the band is still fake. Then later on the Fox God sends them a real band. The last three songs in this concert are revered to the trilogy of Death. Headbanger (the version everyone wants you to watch), about a 15 year old girl going to her first heavy metal concert, at the end she collapses (normal as she is tired, but has extra connotation in this concert). Next is Akatsuki (unfinished) a Su metal solo with piano arrangement, in this version she is basically saying goodbye to her life, it is very emotional and she cries at the end of the song. The last song is Babymetal Death, which is normally done at the start of the concert (Death is a word play on Desu meaning I am/We are) to introduce themselves, but here they take "Death" literally and offer up Su to be reborn as a metal Goddess. The last song has not much singing, but is an absolute spectacle. Su's running eye shadow is on point and extra metal for this last song. So if you want to do Headbanger Legend 1997, then I suggest doing the whole trilogy of Death.

BABYMETAL: Live songs > Studio versions. Don’t get me wrong, the original songs are amazing in itself. But listening to the live audio version, you can almost feel the atmosphere of that moment. (I recommend Road of Resistance Live or Syncopation Live) Great reaction! Welcome to the Foxhole and enjoy the ride!
You can hear more from Momoko in the legend MM 20+21 Live Concerts. It‘s Momos Birthday, the first concert she is 20 (day before). Next Day she went 21. Many special for Momo goes on. Most in Headbanger and Meta Taro. And if you want see Su in younger Age search for Suzuka Nakamoto 2008 Asu ne Tobira
I'm more interested in new baby metal content, I'm not sure I'll be going into thier younger performances but I've been enjoying everything so far! ^_^🤘🦊🤘
Great reaction! Your enthusiasm is infectious. I agree that Headbanger would be a good next stop, and the best version that won't get blocked on youtube is the one from Legend 1997. It was the third-to-last song at that show, part of an extended encore that culminated with two of their most incredible performances to date: Akatsuki (Unfinished version) and a special performance of their traditional opener, Babymetal Death. I would recommend watching all three of those back-to-back, even if you split them up into separate videos for youtube release, and I'll put some links to good uploads of each one in a reply comment. Cheers!

@@Abigirl_Reacts No problem! Always better for both the reactors and the audience if you get the good stuff 😁 Edit: I forgot to mention, but if you put all three of those performances I suggested into a single reaction video instead of splitting them up, it might get blocked. Hopefully not, but I do recommend splitting them up just to be safe (plus more views 🤩)
Live Babymetal is best Babymetal. BxMxC (pronounced "B.M.C.") is the Japan exclusive bonus track from their 2019 album "Metal Galaxy". Although it's never been explicitly stated, it's assumed that it stands for BabyMetal Cypher. This was filmed at Legend MM at Yokohama Arena on March 2nd and 3rd this year. I was in the moshpit at this show, so I was one of the people chanting "B-M-C!" This is Babymetal's take on nu-metal/hiphop, so Su-metal is absolutely rapping in this song. In interviews she talked about having to "find her flow" in order to perform this song because it was so outside her vocal comfort zone. She obviously relishes the challenge, because it's become one of her favourite songs to perform live. Su-metal does 90% of the vocals in most of their songs, with Moa and Momo leading the crowd chants. In this song, Moa and Momo lead the crowd in chanting "BMC!", but other than that they're mostly dancing in this one. If you want to hear more of Moa and Momo and you want to watch Headbanger, you need to know that there are three versions of Headbanger that feature each of the girls on lead vocals. It is Babymetal tradition that when one of the girls has a major birthday, they have a special concert for the occasion and the one whose birthday it is takes the lead vocal on Headbanger. Su-metal performs the lead most of the time when they perform it, but Moa took over the lead vocal for her birthday concert at Legend M in 2019, and Momo took over the lead vocal earlier this year at Legend MM for her birthday. You can choose any/all versions to react to, but if you want to see Moa or Momo on lead vocals, this is a good chance to do so. Classic Legend 1997 Su-metal version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YjjWZpf_jSs.html Moabanger: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MToMx6RCW-M.html Momobanger: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TDb5KObVjOU.html Su-metal is a remarkable vocal talent who began singing professionally as a ten year old. Kobametal chose her to be the lead vocalist of Babymetal because she had a powerful voice that wouldn't be overwhelm by the noise of a full metal band behind her and because of her unique stage presence. She has now been the lead vocalist of Babymetal for more than half her life and she's only 26.
Watching the live performance was the right choice but you do need to see the music video. Very different but everything they do is different. Also no twerking by BabyMetal and I can't see them ever doing that. BMC came out about 3 years ago.
Great reaction as always! Not sure if anyone explained why live is preferred, but think of The One as BABYMETAL (the ladies), Kami Band (backing instruments), and Kitsune (the fans) all taken together. For studio mv / tracks literally a third of the "band" is missing.
@@Abigirl_Reacts so, kitsune just means fox. I don't think a fan being called a kitsune is official, it's just something we all do. But yeah, I've been in this for 2 years now, and "the foxhole runs deep" is an understatement. 🤣 thanks again for the reaction! 🤘🦊🤘
Su is usually the only one that sings. The others' position is officially "scream and dance". I don't think Moa generally likes to sing. I've heard she's been offered more singing parts but has declined. Momo may start getting more singing parts but she's only been officially in the group for a year and a half.
Well it is one of her most recent songs and at the same time Sus easiest song. Her entry into zhe Rap genre simply meant that she had to get into a flow, her voice manages the rest. Especially the last part is her favorite, when she tries to give the audience a kund of a capella presentation of her voice. This was still from the old Babymetal, this means Momo is silent, therefore Moa doesn't want to sing. This song is simply a presentation of Sus Voice. While we all know that Moa has a beautiful voice it is an act if she shall perform Solo, she prefers to be a part of the background chorus. With Momo together it is ok, so Momo was quite confused when everyone wanted to hear her voice. In reality the idea behind was Moa should sing more, so we need Momos Voice, so that Moa doesn't feel the pressure. And we see this works. The last album was released under the old babymetal, so a silent Momo and now everyone wants to hear her and Moas Voice
[Supplement to my comment] BABYMETAL fans know that Moametal and Momometal are both excellent singers but they prefer to concentrate mainly on dancing. The two girls have multifunction : ① Conductors to orchestrate unorganized crowd, ② Interpreters of lyrics using body moves like sign language, ③ Cheer leaders to ignite the audiences (they are already & always on fire, though 🤣) and more importantly ④ Forming a triangle with Su that makes their performance look more dynamic 3-dimensionally. That is my understanding.
I haven't heard them shine vocally so one of these head banger songs are incoming soon. They dance great though! But I need to hear them WAIL on the mic lol 🤘🦊🤘
QUIET DOWN OR ILL GIVE YOU DETENTION hahahahaha ok that one actually made me laugh out loud, they're just blue- light screen glare glasses, not prescription or anything 😅
Oh, while I think about it - it's an old one so it has Yui rather than Momoko but if you check out Catch Me If You Can it has a lot of non-Su parts, lol. Or the songs that were *just* Moa and Yui like GJ, Sis Anger or Onedari Daisakusen which you can find in the modern day as Moa on her own.
Crowd interaction? I got one for you! Like EC from my home country. One of our oldest powermetal bands. They started in the 80's. Very humble guys and you can see how they perform two of their songs at a big german metal festival called Wacken Open Air, in front of up to 80k fans. It makes sense to do a reaction to the whole video, so both songs, it will make sense. Believe me. If you want to hear a crowd sing along, this is so far the best thing I found! The video is called: "Blind Guardian - Bard's song/Valhalla - Live at Wacken Open Air 2016". A "must see" imo! Nice reaction! This song is great and different. Have a good one! ✌🏻

Asking questions and wondering out loud is just awesome in these reactions ^^ Very natural when you hear stuff for the first time! I actually never heard this song myself! They're so versitile and Su is just so amazing
I think you should react Monochrome PIA Arena 2023, and all the recent Legend MM 2024 performances of songs, you can pull them up them by searching The song title and "Legend MM 2024". The ones on YT are: Doki Doki Morning, Gimme Chocolate, Syncopation, Elevator Girl, Believing, Shanti Shanti Shanti, and YAVA! with Kami band intro. The official channel cut the Kami band intro for YAVA!, but other channels uploaded the song with it.
@@Abigirl_Reacts Awesome. Also more of their latest Legend MM 2024 concert performances are becoming available now on YT, as some copyright blocks were lifted. Not exactly sure how many until I get them uploaded.
@@Abigirl_Reacts One of the new Legend MM, was the recent performance of Road of Resistance, by far the best performance we have of the song so far. Highly recommended. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vC1eKk4qrT4.html
completely agree, there is something about Su's voice that brings the chills. Headbanger is fantastic, the version called Momobanger is my fav as its live version with Momo taking over the 2nd half (for her birthday) and she does a growl. I think the reason the live versions are best is because Babymetal is full on entertainment, not just vocally but visually. Fantastic choreography, lighting, effects and crowd chants add so much more to the experience. Plus Su's voice is so clear and strong you dont miss anything, you dont miss a word as you can with some bands live. Great to see how much pleasure you get from the band.
In my opinion it is often better to watch the way you first spoke of MV 1wst then a live. Often you will see the maturation of the song as well as the girls themselves. Your channel do it your way.
there are two other versions of headbanger from the original where moa and momo sing in it, moabanger and momobanger, the original mainly has su. Can't wait for the next! ❤
When this song came out theor was only 2 of them but thier are somgs out their under the name of black metal where moa and yui duets theirs like 3 songs
Yui & Moa have 4 songs, no Su ( she can get a break at live shows). FYI the music vid and this some had the lyrics on the screen in Japanese and English ( Wanna be and want some beat)
Every version of headbanger live is fire, but be aware that some videos are a mashup of live footage to avoid copyright (still the audio usually is from a single performance) and because of that you may sometimes see lipsync issues (but only with the compilation ones)
I would say that the "Legend 1997" is probably the most popular version of Headbanger but if you want to check out the other girls sing, but you would need to look up the special versions of the song where Momo/Moa/Yui(Former member that left in 2018) take over the lead vocal role in the second half of the song. They typically only do this for special occasions such as birthday concerts.
@@Abigirl_Reacts Not sure why but I think Moa has said she doesn't want to take on the lead role as her passion is for dancing. There was/is? a sub-group called Black Babymetal which was just Moa and Yui leading the vocals and they had 4 songs together, but I don't think they have performed those songs since Momo officially joined last year. Besides the Black Babymetal stuff Moa & Yui each did a solo performance and covered a popular song from their birth year, I believe it was the Legend 1999 concert. Su did the same for her Legend 1997 concert.
@@Abigirl_Reacts 'Headbanger' is a coming of age song about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday - but also having to grow up as 15 is the end of compulsory education in Japan. At concerts in 2014 on or near their own 15th birthdays Yui (in Paris) and Moa (in Cologne) took over lead vocals for the second half of the song. Only fancam videos exist for these. 20 is the official age of majority in Japan so you are officially an adult. Legend M was Moametal's 20th birthday concert, she took the mic and lead vocals again for Moabanger. Momoko was not a member of the band for her 20th birthday, but in March this year she turned 21 and they had the Legend MM concerts to celebrate. She took lead vocals for Momobanger on the first night - the last day of her being 20.
Nice reaction :) "What in the world is this?!?" This is BabyMetal :) Headbanger!! is one of BabyMetals tracks that was off of their first album and a huge fan favorite. The definitive version is from the 'Legend of '97' concert ('97 was the year Su was born) and was held in 2013, the day after Su's 16th birthday. It also has a long ending ;) There are also versions called Moabanger and Momobanger in which Moa and Momo take the microphone from Su halfway through the performance and finish it off to celebrate their birthdays. The song is about a young girl going to her first metal concert. There is also a Yuibanger version performed by YuiMetal who sadly had to leave the group due to health reasons. Su, Yui and Moa are the three girls in the 'Legend of '97' video. I highly recommend you watch the original before the others. Have fun!
@@Abigirl_Reacts There is a horrible compilation video for Momobanger, please don't watch that. The BluRay has been released now, wait for a decent version form that to be uploaded. In the meantime - so the Moabanger and Momobanger version make more sense, watch the original 'Headbanger' from Legend 1997 that was suggested. abr metal has a high quality video you can use for that.
@@Abigirl_Reacts As Grington300 said, the one that's out there isn't very good. In fact, I totally agree when he says it's horrible. There is a good version of Moabanger if you search for it but I really recommend watching the original Legend of 97 version first. The singing, crowd control (Like nothing you've seen so far), stage presence and musicianship are all phenomenal!
@@Grington300 Yes, this compilation video is not very good, sometimes showing Su singing when Momo is actually singing. It's "ok" to watch, but not before watching another better Headbanger live version.
The music industry works differently in Japan and South Korea. There is an idol system, and many or most popular music is "project driven" not "band driven" (in a way a band is founded naturally and grows naturally). For western people like me, it's difficult to get familiar with that and to accept it as cultural differences, since especially the idol system is a heavy ground for criticism from a conservative western point of view. Babymetal is also a project. There was once a business idea. To realize it, components needed to be brought to life. One 'component' is singing, realized by Su. Another 'component' is dancing, realized by the other 2 girls/women. They are in the spotlight, and that's intended. But there is also the band as 'component', the stage as 'component', the composition, the production and even the crowd is a component. So here is the clue. Every component is fulfilled at the highest quality level. Each component has its own specialists, whose job it is to get only one component right. Sue is an outstanding singer, the other two are outstanding dancers (e.g., synchronicity), the band called Kami band is an all star metal band, the staging is made out of things maybe never made before, the compositions and production are awesome, and the crowd is not watching a show, they are part of it what's intended, they have their own parts of singing and choreography. Over the time, most 'components' evolved from 'outstanding' to 'next level'. The 'components' are not only fulfilled by people to make the "machine" as a whole run; they are additinally fulfilled with creativity. Babymetal is driven by music industry, but it's not limited to that. That's why Babymetal stands out. And that's why they outgrow the idol system. The carrier of most idols is over when they are as old as the three girls/woman are. But Babymetal is too good to stop it, so they break through the age "limit". They started, like many other idols, very young. You will find out, i won't spoil the details. Sry for wall of text and sry to Babymetal experts when there was something wrong, I'm just an old western guy who still tries to figure out what this phenomenon and japanese and korean modern music in general is about. When you do Headbanger, i really really really really highly recommend the high quality live version, which is time-wise nearly to release. It's a 7 years jump into Babymetals history. Thats the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YjjWZpf_jSs.html BTW: The "missing frames" are no problem. I even would appreciate when its done on purpose in respect to protect the interests of the original content creators.
See, this is the explanation I needed! I'm western. The girl bands here all sing AND dance. That's all I was trying to explain that I'm used to. I now understand the components of JPN culture in the bands now, they have their roles and mostly stick to it. I get it! Especially when you point out everything that comes into play with the performance. It explains the level of participation from the audience. You're the best. Thank you so much for the wall of text, it was highly appreciated. 🤘🦊🤘
@@Abigirl_Reacts "they have their roles and mostly stick to it". That nailed it and its not limited to music, its a historical form of society. But its important to mention that we talk about modern democratic societies and that all of Babymetal incluing the band are humans, young individuals. So its luckily not 100% strict anymore. The band has their extra spots in the shows to shine and present their virtuosity and the girls/woman have their spots to break out from the common shema. And i think they grow over time in self-confidence to do it on their own. Moabanger will be a good choice to reflect this themes. But i think you will need the comparison to the "old" version "Legend 97" for that. In the end, you cant make mistakes, its not an examination of Babymetal, its "just" about enjoying art.
@@Abigirl_Reacts Sry, i have to write a little bit more because i found the perfect comparison. Popular Japan and Korean music is often made like movies. Some write a film script, some build scenery, some are actors, cameraman, producer, music.. you get it. If movies were made like many western bands handle things, then the same people would write the script, acting, producing, using the camera and so on.
You really wanna see the other two sing...in your last vid many suggested the headbanger versions with both Momo and Moa taking the lead on their birthdays. There are 4 old songs where Su does not perform, and Yui and Moa do duo lead vocals, while Su is off stage resting. Unfortunately they dont perform these songs anymore it seems. But honestly, they were very young back then, and their vocals are fairly childlike. an example is "Onedari Daisakusen" Yui and Moa performing this live is hella fun though.
Right, I've looked into it and so far it seems there are no recent good quality versions of momobanger but it should be getting released soon from thier DVD! (So I've heard) 🤘🦊🤘
I'd suggest you do headbanger from legend 1997 b4 you do moa-banger and momo-banger....there is also a fancam of yui-banger, unfortunately not the greatest quality.
