Abilify (aripiprazole) Side Effects - List of Side Effects, Dangers, What to Expect... 

I had a very bad reaction to this drug. I was told (by a psychiatrist) I had a mood disorder when I was a very young teenager. Although I was just a very troubled and heartbroken child who had been through a lot and needed guidance. This medication pretty much temporarily paralyzed me. I will never forget it. My tongue started swelling up so bad I couldn't talk, my neck started pulling sideways on its own until it reached my shoulder and got stuck there and I could no longer move it. Then my arms and legs started drawling up and I lost my ability to walk. Absolutely terrifying for a child. I was given several different shots immediately. One was a steroid shot, cortizone shot, and I don't remember what else. I mostly remember how terrified I was and the nurses frantically running around then several holding me up and helping me around until I eventually gained back some control of my limbs. This experience absolutely traumatized me for a long time as a child and I'm so thankful I was already in a hospital when it happened and I came back out of that reaction okay. Please know, this can be a very dangerous drug.

I think everyone taking these should be compensated.

Was on 10mg abilify...I almost lost my mind literally. I'm not describing pain from side effects. I mean i almost went mad.

Hated how abilify made me feel. The insomnia was horrible but I had no energy and was always tired. I also just felt drugged up.. and I really didn't need it (was already on two antidepressants and am diagnosed dysthymia and anxiety) But I stopped taking it cold turkey and things became way worse. I was suicidal for months after stopping it. Also got very sick. So if you are taking it and don't like how it makes you feel, tell your doctor so they can get you off it properly.

Im loving Abilify, risperidone made me fat, Latuda gave me the movement disorder and vomiting. All the other ones are too high for weight gain so luckily this is working for me

Out of all those side-effects listed I only had drooling ... it also made me completely stupid.

If I took it during the day I was sooooooo tired and yawning all the time. My dr suggested taking it at night and I found it much better. Good luck people, too bad we all have to be chained to a drug in order to stay sane. I take it for mania and I’ve put on 45 lbs but at least I can be a parent now.

I was injected with abilify which caused me incredible akathisia for the past 2 months. I've been pacing the entire time and the past 4 days I have fell to the floor moving all over non stop for hours. I have to see a movement disorder specialist in 2 days, but the symptoms seem to be gradually fading.

Got told today this didn't have many side effects, it sounds awful. Glad it was only suggested to me....

I was a two year user of abilify, within one month of stopping abilify I developed a major allergy to metal. makes it difficult when I am allergic to most belt buckles snaps and watches. I have to admit that I experienced around half of the side effects he mentions. I just wish I would have went out gambling so I could sue abilify.

Increase appetite and weight gain I noticed sometimes dizziness not very often though and some rashes but that could be due to the cold and dry skin.

I got this described to me for my tourette syndrome and to be honest if I knew how this med fucked up my mental condition before taking it I would've just tried to live with the tics I got this described at about the age of 15 I guess and immediately stopped taking it the day I turned 18 and got the say in wether or not I wanna take it I'm almost 21 now and this medication had a very big part in me not being able to move on in life I have reaccuring depression(in the time of taking it I was depressed and had suicidal tendencies and failed attempts), my overal mental state is very weak and on a social scale I completely missed out on certain important developments, however it did actually help against the tics but thr issues I am dealing with right now I do not consider it worth it...

I'm getting now the highest dose of Citalopram, take Seroquel every day and now they also gave me Abilify. They just keep pumping more medications in me but it seems i'm a hopeless case.

Abilify may able to help somebody but it may make lots of people sick too. Chemicals are not really meant to be part of the body. Nowadays we know organics are better for the health overall. Do we really need drugs? You have to work for good health especially when we get older, there is no miracle drug gonna do that for you.

I'd rather deal with the side effects than deal with mania.

I think Abilify substantially worsened my symptoms of psychosis leading to additional hospitalizations.

I have a deformity from the long acting injections. I received the majority of my long acting injections on my left buttock. Now I have a fat deposit on my left hip in the front six months after stopping the injection. How can I get rid of it? Has anyone else experienced a fat deposit pocket from the injection?

Anthor side effect is the price of abilify with no insurance. $706 dollars for 30 2mg pills. $23.53 per pill. Absolutely ridiculous!

Do people who get scared of these drugs that can actually help people realize theres a zillion more options and side effects vary from person to person if any at all. One med doesn't mean another wont work. So don't go making your kids suffer cuz you're scared keep searching for one that works.

i didnt watch the video. the effects im feeling are depression, a heavy down feeling. (no more energy etc.)my hands and tounge are slightly swollen, thats 10 mg atm. the idiots i have to live with are forcing me to take this drug, even though i do not wish too. so i have too too have a place to live. fuck do i hate it. marijuana fixed my ails. not abilify, that causes depression in the undepressed!
