Abiquiu Lake is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers managed lake, with recreation areas and a campground. The lake is a 5,200-surface-acre reservoir and offers many opportunities for outdoor recreation. The fishing here is some of the finest in northern New Mexico. Visitors enjoy boating, water skiing, and hiking. Lake shore access for boat launching is 1 mile from the campground.

Abiquiu Lake is located in northern New Mexico, 61 miles north of Santa Fe on Highway 84 at the intersection of Highway 96. From Espanola, 30 miles west on US 84, 2 miles south on NM 96.
