I exhibit dogs at AKC shows (Shih Tzu, Chinese Crested, French Bulldog, Cavaliers, Japanese Chin) and wondering what standard the dogs at these shows are judged by because none of them fit a particular image of what the conformation should be? There isn’t any info on the ABKC website under the education tab.
The ABKC standard for FBDs is identical to AKC other than they allow up to 30 lbs (similar to FCI) and allow all colors, much like the original FBDCA standard prior to 1912.
I would respect it but he gave a dog 3rd place in a different class with one blue eye. While we have a perfect lilac there that should of taken 1st place🤷🏻♂️
That was wild, LoL. As you look at them, none of them were close in appearance. This is what happens when you have people breeding for new colors and hair length, instead of focusing on a standard performance appearance and letting colors happen organically. I am cool with all colors but the breed has to have a uniform appearance.
@@christinacarry1323 it really depends on the judge they all judge different… my girl was the second lilac she got her final 20 points and is champion now .
If you mean NBS French Bulldogs when you say “exotic”, there is zero scientific evidence that color panels equate to poor health, with the exception of certain Merle sine lengths. If you’re going to make a drive-by statement like that, come to the table with something not anecdotal.
The person behind the camera must not know the real standards of the true French bulldog breed. None of those dogs are even close nore the colors. I’m glad they were all disqualified since those dogs are a joke of the real standards. Learn the breed and quit breeding muts to muts
Each one structure was off 😂 first legs too skinny not enough fat on neck. Second neck to long and too tall and nose too long. Third too short body wise. Fourth tail erect legs kinda thin. My opinion
French bulldogs are supposed to have a neck. I know that’s not popular in all show rings, but particularly for this age, a heavy-set female with no neck would not be something I’d want to see at 12 months. Can you share your version of ideal 12 month old FBD female?
