This one of my favorite non-full songs he has made. It’s catchy and may or may not a have a meaning that is interesting enough but ignorable if you’re not in the mood
The most “horifying” part was the last few seconds of video. The dark snyth, the bolt gun and after all that we can imagine what happened. Beside that catchy song!
I can’t help crying because the cow sees that the farmer gives him everything to live thanks to his hands but she only has hooves, and when he sees the slaughterhouse doors to reassure himself of inpending death he imagines having hands and managing to free himself from the slaughterhouse although we already knows what happens to him
I don’t think Jack could make a extended version. No words in this song has more than 4 letters, and I think that’s intentional. If Jack were to extend it, than it wouldn’t be able (hehe) to have that factor, making the song lose itself.
As my English teacher would say, It’s a monosyllabic song which “would show that the cow is panicked as people tend to use short words when scared and in difficult situations”
Bruh, you do know there are songs with no lyrics right? I've also seem several songs with similar quantity of dialogue, with some of it even being gibberish
@@-hello6177 I see your point, and that could be one way to approach it, but to do one song with a clear lyrics and themes and then the "extended" is just music and some gibberish with words mixed in feels like a cop out and not what the fans expect from Jack. It wouldn't feel complete. I hope that addresses your concerns. Also, if you like instrumentals, have you heard "Kaleidoskull" by Lemon Demon? hits different on a rainy day.
50 - It's a cow fantasizing about breaking free from a slaughtering line, and waking up just before they get a bolt through their head. It's "An Occurrence on Owl Creek Bridge," but with cows.
I'm surprised by the amount of people who don't recognize the nail-gun they use to kill cows at the very end. They stopped using sledgehammers decades ago, guys, c'mon.
Have you seen SHOP: A Pop Opera on adult swim's channel? That's only about 15 minutes long total so not really a movie, but it tells a whole story with songs in each one so it's pretty close.
Honestly, jacks stuff is such a good representation of trauma that others have experienced, even if that wasn’t the intended interpretation of this piece. I’m so glad I found u Jack, thanks for putting my feelings into videos
I take it as a cow desperately trying and thinking of how to escape her fate, not having the Capacity to escape or the thumbs to be successful at it. In the end she accepts her death and calms her mind
@@fisherninjajk7261 she as udders, only female Bovine have those. Often referred to as a cow or a heifer. The male counterpart being a bull (wittjout udders, and a penis.
@girl what damn that sucks. While I mostly eat vegetation I do partake of the flesh, you know when I can catch or shoot it. Mostly catch, I prefer fish.
The cow sees the farmer milk, build, and feed. She comes to the realization that it's all thanks to hands (when it opens the door). She knows that her hooves can't do these things and that she's stuck. She imagines herself magically growing hands and she does everything the farmer did. She can milk, build, feed, and even open the door to the exit. However, she opens her eyes and accepts that there's nothing she can do about that and accepts her fate.
Something tells me the cow doesn't actually accept her fate though, more like she imagines being capable to do the same things as the farmer, in an attempt to avoid reality. That reality, being turned into meat, probably. We can see the cow is being moved through a tunnel. She's probably about to die and it's trying to distract herself from the dread. "God, no, no, god! Take my mind, I can take my mind and I'm fine." kind of speaks for itself. Anyway, that's my point of view.
now kids, the weird machine the man's holding at the end is called a stunner let me tell you how it works: *it pokes the cow in the head so hard it gets put into a life long coma.*
The video as I interpreted it, shows a cow with the naive notion that it is "unable" to do all the things that the man is "able" to do (milk the cow, build a shelter and prepare meals) because it doesn't possess the man's tool (his hands). While she's standing on the belt about to be shot by the bolt gun, she comes to the conclusion that if she were "able" as the man is, she wouldn't be killed, and so at the last second she closes her eyes and dreams a desperate dream of her growing human hands out of her useless hooves and is finally able to milk herself, use hammers, and literally save herself. Cows are unintelligent animals, but they are very aware of the human's hands and recognize them as of great importance, as humans use them for everything they do. The fact that the song comes from the cows perspective (which is more believable thanks to how simple and short the words in the lyrics are) makes it all the more strong as a song. Everything else is perfect, the song is catchy and poppy and escalates with tension as we near the end and then it vanishes with relief, and the video has very impactful and cold images (especially here 0:20)
cows are actually quite intelligent. Just not in a human way. they remember stuff for a long time and make friendships, and solve problems. This is the case with many animals.
@@gonzalovazquezavila535 ones set up by scientists. Ya know, _like a fucking experiment_ . How else would they determine if they had problem-solving abilities?
Bro. I know this video is dark But that farmer's design genuinely freaks me out. The way his eyes are lit in the dark with a strange realistic mouth It freaks me out.
Aviator Man It’ll spook you more when you realize at the end the hand is holding a cattle gun of sorts, used to incapacitate or kill cows before butchering as the cows head is just entering.
fun lil fact, no word in this song has more than 4 letters Edit: Since every other week there's another comment saying I'm wrong, here are the lyrics as I understood them to be when I wrote this comment: I can, I can, do I, do I? (la la) I do, I do, can I, can I? (la la) I can, I can, do I, do I? (la la) I do, I do, can I, can I, can I? God no, no, God no, take my mind I can take my mind, and I'm fine (fine) fine (fine) God no, no, God no, take my mind You can take my mind and I'm fine Edit again: please stop fighting guys
Ėvėlýň_ Bėäř well he goes from uploading a video about a father and his son and their cute relationship to a cow with a scary farmer and the cow is implicated to be dead at the end so i mean
The cow realizes that it's going to get killed. To cope with this she creates a reality in its head where it's in control of the situation, turning itself into the farmer, a figure that it has seen being able (in the cow's perspective) to do whatever he wants at the farm
Able I can, I can, do I, do I? (La, la) I do, I do, can I, can I? (La, la) I can, I can, do I, do I? (La, la) I do, I do, can I, can I, can I? God no, no, god Take my mind I can take my mind and I'm fine, fine, fine, fine! GOD NO, NO, GOD! TAKE MY MIND I CAN TAKE MY MIND AND I'M FINE! Fun fact: every word in this song has four letters or less, even the title
This made me so sad. The cow desperately trying to escape but can only do so in her mind, creating an alternative reality where she is in control of her body. The end where the bolt gun lowers is so haunting. Thank you for this :(
Oh... Your comment made me realize what the image was in the last part of the video. It was the chute the cows come out of, and someone holding the bolt gun ready to kill the cow.... :(
Ok I’m gonna gush about this: I’m mentally disabled and i keep coming back to this video ever since it came out. The heifer thinking about how she can, in fact, take care of herself, and doesnt actually need the farmer. Her confidence that she can be independent, and her resolution to take her life into her own hands. Only for her to be struck down in a cold, systematic way and probably cut up for meat. I get into a cycle of feeling like I’m able to do things, and that I can live a perfect, average, neurotypical life if i just make another list, see another councilor, keep denying the problem. The heifer thinks she can act exactly like the farmer, and even grow her own hands in a way. Sometimes I feel the same, like the underdeveloped or dopamine-deprived parts of my brain will just fix themselves and the problem will be solved. Even the title “able” really speaks to me. Its just a beautiful way of framing a feeling and an idea that I’m so familiar with. It doesnt offer a solution, it just communicates. I find that very nice, and somewhat refreshing. Idk if jack knows how much his art actually helps people, but i hope he does.

I really needed this disturbingly motivational video. I'm inspired to grow hands from my hooves, corner the farmer, and milk him for a change. See how he likes it
I feel like this song wouldn't be as impactful if it were extended, since it's supposed to be the last few seconds of the cows' life, and having it last 3 minutes would take away from the sense of panic or incoming threat. On the other hand, a longer song could make an atmosphere of incoming dread, like the fear one feels a few hours before something bad will happen. A sort of slow burn, with the rising anxiety and tension. In the end, it's really up to the artist to choose what to do with their work.
Eyes too wide, too a degree that’s inhuman, or at the very least something would have to be pretty wrong for a persons eyes to look so big. Always staring straight at the camera, unblinking. Gaping, dark mouth. Kinda corpse-like. Pale/red accented skin looks sickly, or dead even also maybe just me but the high pitched voice is pretty creepy too idk. tldr; this man is very wrong and is Too human and also Not human enough. Uncanny valley is a hell of a thing
its kinda cool how the cow imagined itself doing all the things the farmer did. i didn't realize what was in the hands until after i watched a few times. i love the effort jack puts into his songs and videos. hope this gets turned into a full song
...Can we lay off Jack? Constantly whenever a new song is out or an old good song exists everyone is always like "pls extend pls extend pls extend" Like we have so many songs but we don't stop. I think we should. We need to give him a break without constantly badgering him to make stuff for us. Let's just calm down, and let him do the stuff he wants.
The lyrics (by my interpretation are) “I can i can Do i do i *(La la)* I do i do Can i can i *(La la)* I can i can Do i do i *(La la)* I do i do _Can i can i can i.._ God no no god Take my mind I can take my mind And im fine -fine fine fine- God no no I can take my mind I can take my mind and *im fine* ”
I'm scared Jack is this the prequel to "Milk" Edit: ...or maybe hamburger family Edit 2: I'm dumb its cheeseburger family. Maybe they're using the milk to make the cheese?
Ugh that fantastic juxtaposition. The haunting notes of the farmer are lovely. I greatly enjoy this. Please consider making an extended edition. I feel silly replaying it so much.

OMG so this is a cow that is helpless, tries everything, can't escape its destiny and at the end the closed bolt mechanism lowers into position as the cow meets certain death.when it pokes its head through that dark opening. very dark very sad
I think youre kinda right but it also has to do with not being able to escape its fate and creates in its head a fantasy where its in control of everything and is able to escape the mechanism there leading it to calm down and feel "fine" i think its a metaphor for humans ofc like most of his videos

Maybe it shows how the cow knew it had the ability to do certain things like make milk (i can, i can,) but never was sure of itself and didnt do all that it could (do i, do i?) when it is being led to get killed for its meat, the last usefull thing it will give, it thinks about all the good it could have done if it really tried and regrets not taking action, only asking “do i?”. Idk why it then says im fine tho, i wouldnt think it would be fine. Maybe it accepts tjese mistakes and thinks its fine to be killed since ultimately, that is what it chose?
Like maybe but it's hard to believe cause first all the cows eventually goes to slaughter no Matter what and getting milk out of them is extremely hurtful so I can't even think how a cow think it's a good thing to do...we all know this song (at least the visual video) is a criticism in some way about the meat industry i hope some people will choose to get the idea portrayed here
The song and video is about how raising someone to be dependent on you is the same as killing them. The farmer gave the cow a purpose, gave her shelter, gave her food, then let her out to be on her own. As she tried to do everything herself, you see that she's unable to do anything right. The farmer killed her. Most importantly though, this is just one interpretation. It's not the right one. None of these are the right one. Abstract art like this is meant to be personal, and we're all going to project our own personal meaning onto it.
Isn't it a bull? They grow horns? (As bulls for "US taste" have their testes removed because of an off taste) so their horns never develop fully. Which is why males are used for slaughter and females are used for milk production
It reminds me of Stampylonghead's role in Minecraft : Story Mode, when he steals the Enchanted Flint and Steel although it was a prank so he ment well. Stampy gets established in the same episode when Captain Sparklez takes you to the main hall, where Stampy, StacyPlays, and DanTDM all enter with him. You see him utter his most important line, "I hope there's cake." Which is like his character in his RU-vid videos, where in every video he would walk outside, greet everyone, and then enjoy a lovely cake, in his lovely world. Stampy and the others are in the same room, all invited to a mysterious person's house, presumably you, the player (Jesse) thinks is a person wearing a white pumpkin via a dialogue option. Needlesly complicated things set off due to DanTDM making a mistake and pressing a button, killing Captain Sparklez, and so you interrogate, and question everyone. Though you don't know who it is, a few details emerge. Whoever it is is good with potions, redstone, and knows about Tinted arrows. In the case of Redstone, Details are given by DanTDM, and LaurenZSide, (Two other people you interrogate), that Stampy is a Redstone Expert, having been the certified, "Tri-Block Champion", Three times, after denying this he eventually gives in. But still says he's not the murderer. Such a perilous situation, but it is true he has details stacked against him. But he is later revealed to not be the killer. When you and Petra (your soulless partner) find a cave, Stampy inadvertently finds, and scares you. You find evidence to prove that he is not the killer but it was Cassie Rose. She fakes her death and you fall for it, and leave the mansion, Stampy, Stacy, and Dan are the only RU-vid survivors, and they leave. Stampy leaves with a clear, " Goodbyeeeeee! ", Just like in his RU-vid videos, and with this (until later on) , Stampy leaves you, Petra, and Ivor. Although your character wants a sexual relationship with Stampy, killings and adventures in Sue and you must wait until season two. Where in episode 6 he gets turned into a cute anime girl and joins your team. You and Stampy become close partners and then you and her fall in love at the end of season 2 with a kiss. Then Stampy's character arc is complete, and you and her become a great adventuring duo for years to come. Honestly, I can't wait til' the next season of Minecraft : Story Mode.
So basically at the “god no no god, I can take my mind and I’m fine” part the cow thinks that he can grow hands and can do whatever the farmer can do only to find out that the cow was getting killed.... Wow I want to cry because jack also made the cow really cute-
