LOL. I have that midi controller since 2019 and people keep telling me to buy Push. Nice to see somebody who helps electronic musicians save money instead of upgrading to the newest piece of gear just because it looks cool.

Yes! That was our goal when demoing this controller. Accessible & affordable!!! We actually have used the MAudio trigger finger for years which is comparable to this one and it hasn’t failed us. Where there’s a will there’s a way!!!!

Neat. As a long time and pretty advanced ableton user, I wasn’t sure if I was gonna get much out of this. Decided to have it on in the background while doing the dishes 🤣 Figure I could look up and pay more attention if something I didn’t know came up. I have a tendency to over complicate things, especially if others just need to do something relatively simple, or mapping too many controls etc Also, it’s hard to decide what I want to do in some live sets I’d love to do this year. Was keen to see how tempo mapping was explained for beginners and other concepts. Also, it’s hard to know what you don’t know if you’re self taught and the software has also evolved in the past decade or more. All that was great But the mapping of the selector part on tracks and devices… 🤯 Never thought to do that! Solves a real workflow problem I’ve been facing! I find ableton has that daw attitude to “looking at one track a time” I’d love to see more things laid out I. Parallel like in DJ software etc But failing that, this will help make it faster and more intuitive to navigate ❤ Cheers for the tip guys ❤

The content and your style is awesome guys! Only feedback is the info is a little fast & furious. Also, didn't see how you transitioned from the 128BPM to the 133BPM with the tempos locked. The Follow Action/scene tempo tips were brilliant. Thank you! :)

Thanks for checking out the video! Yeah we had alot to cover and thought that if needed rewind a bit back and re watch if you wanted. At about 27:40 or so when I transition back to the Last track with the click,I like to use Master clip launch with the tempo set into the Launch action. The tempo will automatically play at the desired tempo. Works like a charm especially when you need to get back on the grid from some freestyle jams. Hope that makes sense

Great tutorial tnx a lot 🙏. Quick question guys, can i somehow sync ableton 11 with cdj nexus 2? So the dj will play a regular dj set and for example i want to follow with some loops, fx, percussion etc. Our gear is Pioneer Cdj nexus 2, mixer DDJ 900 with 2 sound card integrated, ableton push 2 and roland handpan. It seems is really hard to follow the bpm of the dj set, i tried everyrhing, but too many cables, too complicated setup with midi sync clock 😰. Tnx a lot guys keep up with your good work.

Hi Paul, my fav and I still use it live sometimes s the Trigger Finger Pro, M Audio makes then but they might be discontinued. Great controllers with a sequencer built in, very assignable and great coloured leds for easy on stage use. Hope this helps, and thanks for visiting our work!

Hi Jeremilicata, we have tried it but the latency is too much , best to get a separate mixer with usb interface and run tracks from that and your vocal Into a channel on the mixer for no latency. There are digital mixers with built in fx or cheaper beginner ones with the sound card built and a compression channel that might work well. Depends on budget and portability!

@jeremilicata , I know it sounds great, but for us the latency is a hard to keep tight for performing, you might be able to use an Apollo twin UAD live, what’s your sound card ?

Absolutely that would be the best bet. Use two channels for your Ableton mix and then stack up your Apollo, twin mic channel with whatever you used to record on and that should be latency free. You could even put reverb and delay on that as well, and that will be as little latency as possible as well as keeping Ableton nice and tight and not taxing the computer too much👍😊we love our Apollo,

If your looking for the Mastering Limiter that was from the presets folder from the video like I was type Mastering Limiter in the search field, its in the folder on the left Under Places in Packs. Hope that helps

Some good stuff in here, but i have to point out a few things, some bad misinformation in here. A limiter does NOT protect your ears nor does it protect the speakers. A limited limits the dB in the track/master/whatever. It limits peaks and thus you can reduce your dynamic range and increase your perceived loudness (ie metalica albums), you can still turn up the volume as loud as you want and blow your ears or your speakers, there is absolutely no relationship. The second, you certainly do not need to "Warp" any track that is in time and you know the tempo, why warp a song that is in time? Makes absolutely no sense apart from reducing the fidelity of the song and increasing you CPU work.

We use a limiter as one protective level to catch any peaks that might overload our in-ears. It helps. We also use warp in re-pitch mode once we have the exact tempo. It uses little to no processing. It’s not miss formation from our end. Ableton is like a Swiss Army knife and you can do pretty much what you need with it. If you check out some of the other FLM tuts you can see how unconventional our requirements are.
