Wow!! Those turned out super neat. I have to also invest in a fiber wheel and conditioning belts myself. They definitely are a game changer. Thanks again and see you next time.
Great clean up on those pliers mate. The cold blueing turned out really good too. I’m liking your shop and the tool wall. Very nice. I was watching US Navy pilots landing and taking off aircraft carriers during the Vietnam war with AC DC Thunderstruck playing in the background when your video dropped in. Mate I’m thunderstruck with how those pliers turned out.
They looked really good after the clean that I wasn't sure the blueing would improve them, it did! They look spot on, nice to see the little adjustable too. Great job mate👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Absolutely perfect resto George. The conditioning belt plus cold blue is my favorite finish for tools. And I am jealous of the awesome Kraeuter pliers,
Mr. John I couldn't have finished them out this well without those belts . Thank you again I really appreciate it. I tried to do a John Fix resto finish. Bring them back to original condition. I'm glad you liked it and if I come across another pair I'll send them down your way.
It's good to see someone who have the same problems I have belts flying off dropping nuts and you leave them in that's why I like your videos keep it up
Thank You Brother. I try not to edit out all the "money shots" meaning my shop calamity..Just keeping it real. You guys all know the struggle is real sometimes..
Mike,Mike,Mike! Thank You Brother , it's the first time i have ever seen them and like I said i couldn't have done it without Mr. John Fix! Stay Cool Brother and keep on keeping on.
Those jaws looked good in the first place. Teeth are sharp, and makes me think those pliers are low mileage. When you hit the pliers with the wire wheel after the Evaporust, I noticed a big difference. Nice restoration of a top quality tool with cool handle embellishments.
Thanks Pat, Ya I think they were very low mileage myself. After the evaporust and wire wheel I knew I wanted to go a little farther but wasn't sure how much. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
@@Uwannawatch - I wanted them ever since I seen 357magdad using them and how long they last. Thanks for the video. I always pick up tips from all you creators. BTW, I just watched ScoutCrafter and now I have to add Red Glaze to my list.
@@Uwannawatch I found a pair similar but only 2 slip joints and no name on it. I didn't make them as nice as you did yours but I use them a lot and I generally am not a plier guy.
Hey !George vraiment une très belle restauration de cette pince, une des plus grandes. Et George des gants pour protéger les mains et le capot de la station à bande. C'est pour la sécurité, vaut mieux prévenir que guérir. ❤
George I did not mean to actually be that kind of rude that it came out as sounds bad After reading it I realized I might have stuck my tootsies in my yapper
I see you had to break out your bonnie is in the wild crescent ranch You know some of us like a little more leverage than a 4" 1 you know But hey who am I to complain I'm not your wife
Here in Minnesota Because where the10,000 lakes state We're talking 4"We like to just tell you the truth It's not how big the rod is But it's how you wiggle wiggle your worm
I have never recognized the Kreauter brand prior to finding your channel. They are obviously a favorite brand for you. I have been dismissive of ALL slip joint pliers for my entire adult life. My son gifted me a Snap-On pair of slip joint pliers, definitely the best made slip joint pliers that I have ever held, but I can't find any purpose fir them or any place where they out perform other tools. The Kreauter tools that you show look like common and ordinary tools. That doesn't explain your deep admiration for them. Are they a superior design or material? Are they a collectable prize? Other channel fans show similar affection for the brand. Maybe some of you can talk about what makes them a prize.
Hey Paul, Those slip joints are absolutely useless in the real world, unless you are an 8 year old trying to change the wheels on your bike and that's the only tool you have. Kraeuter tools were made in NJ and for that reason they are sentimental to me. They are a quality tool and at least for me a rare find in the wild.
@@Uwannawatch Thanks for the answer! I do own a few things that are just collections. I have a Dake H frame press that has proven basically useless and a Dake arbor press. Both are too small for my needs. I keep them, because I really like Dake and I don't own any of their big brothers. I cleaned up the little Dake and intend to special purpose it for pressing out stuck router bits from collets in the woodshop. I haven't thought about using the little H frame press in probably 15 years having H frame presses now up to 50T. Writing this note inspires me to drag it out since I now have shop space to set it up. It is a manual screw press that might offer some finness for delicate work. I do own a few trophy machines that I won't likely ever use. I have a Scheer Tumico optical comparator. I want it simply because its previous owner is a hero. I know what it is and sort of how I would use it if I really had a need. I have a little 3 phase second operation speed lathe, that so far serves me no purpose. I thought that I could repurpose the chuck, but didn't do that. It works fine, but so do other options that are more convenient. I bought an American Pacemaker lathe and then discovered that it is heavier than I can affordably rig (about 9.6k). It still sits in the seller's shop. I did bring home a 14" pedistall grinder recently. It is a definite project. The owner repurposed the pedistall, including the tool rests, to display a trophy vise. I "will" use the big grinder to sharpen tooling for the big American Pacemaker when I can get it home, but I need to fabricate the missing base. I generally don't collect just for collecting sake. I did almost purchase and keep a Precision Instruments 1" torque wrench last weekend. I don't do work to justify owning that wrench, so it went to my son. I generally don't think of myself as a tool collector. I collect with the purpose of using tools. I do have several trophies, but most of my collection is in service or projects to put in service.
