In an interesting twist of fate a Thai monk who spent almost all of his life in the most rural and the poorest province of Thailand became the bringer of The Dhamma to the West and started the most wonderful thing-the Western Sangha. His merit is immeasurable, it is of cosmic proportions.

Same here, from 2001. After that I never wanted to look elsewhere in search of a perfect teacher. He taught that it would be dangerous for someone to have found a perfect teacher. A perfect teaching....

Better to read Ajahn Jayasaro' s biography on Ajahn Chah as this is pretty dismal to listen to, very American and lacks Metta , considering how treasured luang por actually is to us all.
