Watching 3 years later and really enjoyed hearing about your life Caroline. I’ve been a subscriber about a year now and do enjoy all vlogs. I’m a 58 year old plus size mom of 2 boys in their 20s. One graduated and now living & working in London, one in his final year at University and we live in the West Midlands but have holidayed in Devon & Cornwall for over 20 years exploring different areas. X
What a great inside view into the life of my favorite celebrity!! How I enjoy your content and how you present yourself. I giggle, laugh, sigh and moan as you present your take on makeup, clothes, and your life. You are a charmer that’s for sure. 🙏
Hi Caroline, it was so nice to hear about your background/life growing up, jobs, etc. The job working on the cruise ships sounds wonderful - what a great opportunity to see the world! Thank for sharing with us : )
Thank you Caroline. That was lovely and I really enjoyed it. Very honest content. I seem to remember when you did House tour you told about how you had to wait for completion as the owners were ill or something weren't they? I did personally find you first with the reselling but I always love your vlogs and ramblings. Thanks for sharing your story. X
Thank you, Sue, always nice to know that people enjoy the more lifestyle-y content as well as the reselling stuff. I'll do a video about the purchase of the house at some point, it's a good story! x
Caroline I was born in 69 and many aspects of your life are so similar to mine. I've just commented on your Cruise Liner video, Same, I sailed out of New York in 1989 on Sky Princess 6mth contract. Missing my 1st love, I returned hone in 1990 and brought him presents and it was clear he didn't want us to be back together. I too can still remember the conversation and I can honestly say I cried every day after for 2 years. it was the most awful awful time in my life and as you say even just thinking about it 30yrs later still brings back all those feelings! There are certain songs I cant listen to..I was truly heartbroken and with everything else I went though I honestly believe I suffered with a kind of PTSD as I became very depressed and introverted. I am a true empath and introvert it has definitely shaped me as a person. I am tearful typing this as it all comes whooshing back. So glad to have found you my dear. Julie x
Thank you for a lush look around Marks, I’m not shielding and not of an age but just enjoy your content, keep up the good work! doing a service for front liners who often after a shift don’t feel like shopping much appreciated .🌸
Funnily enough, Tracey, I've been thinking of doing more of this sort of video, I've got lots of stories I could tell, so I'll try another one at some point :)
It's been really nice to hear your story; it must seem odd to not know much about your viewers - I happened to be over in England for the first time when you got married, driving all over the place. My husband & I came over again in 1999, to drive all over & up into Scotland for about 6 weeks (we got married on the Isle of Mull, not Gretna Green - lol). I learned to drive in a right hand steering MG Midget, so driving on the other side of the road comes naturally for me. I sure get the attachment to a parental home; my Dad just passed last Sept and we decided to live in his home until I could get to a place I could let it go (not yet); my folks bought it in 1982, so a lot of history in these walls :)
I think it's nice you live in your Dad's home, Heather, a good way to come to terms with him no longer being with you and to reach a point where you're comfortable to let go. And yes, the 'relationship' with viewers is a weird one way road that I've talked to other you tubers about quite a lot - people feel they know us and yet we know nothing at all about them. Strange really! :)
Great video Caroline - always nice to know someones background! Agree with Sue's Piles of Shame - I came across you through reselling vlogs but then really enjoyed your "ramblings". There aren't many ladies of a "certain age" (although I am slightly older than you!) out there doing those types of videos.
Thanks, Cathy. I think a lot of people came via reselling and it's always nice to know that people enjoy this more lifestyle-y content as well as the reselling :)
Really enjoyable Caroline - great video. Thanks for sharing your life story. The view from your balcony is just amazing - I'd never get any work done! Phoebe x
Only just found this vlog. How interesting, I'd decided I wanted to be a stewardess or work on ships but before I actually did something about it ... I met my husband and never persued it ~ huge mistake and one that I've regretted all my life. If only ..... Thanks for sharing, it's nice to know a bit more about you xx
Can't believe I was reading your blog way back before the sale of Ashley's parents' hotel. Love the vlogs, and yet still feel a bit sentimental over your great Frock It posts! LOL Loved those. I just last week had my 10th anniversary blogging. Quite shocking to be at it still.
`Hi Kathleen - there are very few blogs I still read (time, mostly), but yours is one that's still on my weekly read list. 10 years!! There ought to be a 10th anniversary blog award - well done!
This came up as a recommendation so I clicked on it, very glad I did, feel like I know you a little better now 😊 I always wonder when I see things pre 2020 how we would feel if we knew what was coming up. Very interesting Caroline, thank you for sharing ❤ x
Wow, what a great video Caroline! Amazing how life has its twists and turns that bring us to this particular moment.... My career path has been equally varied - maybe I'll do a similiar vlog although I think it will take some time!!
Thanks Caroline. What an interesting video. It got me thinking about how to surmise ones own life in 30 minutes or so and what bits 'make the cut' and what bits don't Also - you have a very house, you should show us round one day, is it art deco-y? It always looks so light in there 'William was the worst sleeper ever.... he didn't sleep through until he was two.... (bitter hollow laugh from me here)
Glad you enjoyed. I did a house tour video when we first moved in, but perhaps I ought to do another one as we've made a lot of changes since then, I'll put it on the list :)
Really interesting Caroline. You have come a long way from that nervous 20 year old who couldn't do public speaking in front of other BA interviewees! You have had an interesting life and lots of different experiences. I'm a townie too, wouldn't enjoy living in the country. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your story! I’m only one year younger than you. My dad passed in 2018 but my mom still lives in the house we moved into when I was 5. The time is coming soon that it will need to be sold. A sad day indeed! For some reason I was sure you were Australian! “Off the ark”- lol....I’m going to remember that saying!
Loved this vlog Caroline - always love your vlogs but this just cheered me up whilst having my breakfast and wondering how to cope with another day in Lockdown. Really liked the Amazon top!
Only found your vids fairly recently and having a bit of a look at your back catalogue. Enjoying them very much as I work at home and am at a similar stage of life. Also I grew up in Ferndown 🤔. Thanks for sharing 💕
I really enjoyed this video and I have been watching some of your cruising videos too; you really have a knack for this and now I'm going to watch some others of yours as they're so entertaining. I'm glad that you enjoy making them too, that shows by the way.
Am enjoying your blogs/vlogs (difference? Anyone tell me ?) I know Bournemouth and Torquay well. Currently retired veteran HM armed forces. Just subscribed to your blog-vlog. I'm in my sixties; that's me.
Great vlog Caroline, i to wonder how my son will cope being an only child making those decisions on elderly parents lives. My husband is 73 this year and I'm 62, I'm glad you were honest it proves I'm not the only one that thinks like that even though people gloss over it you have to be realistic. Look forward to your future vlogs
Thanks, Karen. My mum was an only child, too, and I know she felt a great sense of having sole responsibility as her own mother aged, so it is a concern, but I guess that the thing is that none of us know what the future holds, so no point worrying too much (fine advice which I will be hopeless at taking - I'm the world's biggest worrier!)
Hi Caroline i enjoyed listening to your life stories , i am 54 i will be 55 in Sept i am happily married to my best friend Mark we have been together since we left school roughly about 16 and a half when we met we had the longest engagement in history i think we got engaged after six months we had our son in the may before we were both 21 me in Sept and Mark in Oct we eventually got married nearly seven yrs ago now , that’s just a wee bit about me lol . Enjoyed the video. Some interesting topics in there - esp as I am an only child. Interesting you worked away so much as I once did and my partner still does he is forever away and it sometimes is not easy, at least I can spread all the eBay all over the show whilst he is away!
Thank you Caroline this was so interesting to listen to you have had a full life and still having one l love you top it is very beautiful can l ask were you got it as well you have got a lovely son you must be so proud of him you had a wonderful full life which you have worked hard to get l admirer you for that and for being so onist hope you have a lovely weekend x
Very nice. Always nice to know back story. I'm in US but originally England. My youngest daughter was lucky enough to get chosen to work cabin crew for Emirates and has been all over the world these last three years. She's working Business class now. You never know, we may end up back in the UK. Wouldn't know where to start eBay there. So used to the US market.
HI Jean - Emirates seem a great airline to work for, I bet your daughter is having a fantastic time. Agree about the different markets - I watch some US clothing resellers, and all the brands are so very different.
Good video, new subscriber .I to worry about my son he is not an only child we have a daughter with a learning disability so he will have a lot to deal with when we are no longer herex
So many over the years, hard to remember just one. Possibly a perfume that I picked up for £4 at a car bootsale and sold for over £100. About ten years ago.
Hi Caroline lovely potted history you are so real lovely vibrant lady I'm a newbie at selling just starting out your videos are very helpful and I am a plus size lady who has always loved fashion and shopping xmo
