Every single video done by you is a MUST WATCH!🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍👏👏👏 This POLYTERRA does look like a very useful PLA for quite a few applications. I certainly would support their efforts in finding more environmental materials! And they sent it to the right person for unbiased testing, that is the way of success!

Amazing review! I wish all filament reviews were like yours, not just "look how pretty this benchy comes out" hehe Keep it up!

I have been using polymaker pla two tone filaments for about 4 months and they are super high quality.

I was surprised to find Polyterra on our local online shopping site, and I was surprised at the price (about USD14) which is why I ended up watching this video. This is about what you would pay for a lot of the PLA/PLA+ filaments here. I will have to try some.

Amazing review! I am glad I came across this channel. Very detailed quantitative testing! Unlike any other filament review I've seen. Thank you so much for your hard work!! Hello from Australia

I was looking for a review for PolyTerra and came across yours. It's a good review style and love the accent! Good charm in your videos, more down to earth compared to some of the bigger channels. Keep up the good work. Your video convinced me to buy two rolls (Charcoal Black and Cotton White) for the 20cm statues/sculptures I'm printing. Time to do some testing of myself soon.

Great video, good that noticed the extra friction on the spool. It could impact print quality. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to your next video.

Thanks for this fantastic review! I was considering trying PolyTerra, but wanted to know the detailed tradeoffs. Your review told me everything I needed to know. Thanks for all the work you put into your filament reviews, they’re the best on the internet and immensely valuable!

Thanks for posting this excellent video. PolyTerra is one of the only aftermarket filaments with a pre-defined profile for the Bambu Lab printers, calibrated and tested for a high flow rate and thus fast printing speed. The video makes it very clear exactly what uses this filament would be good for (and not so good for).

Thank you for testing the layer adhesion, as that is usually the quality I'm most concerned about with the filaments I use. It looks like Polyterra won't be replacing Polylite as my go-to PLA. =)
@NvrchFotia
@NvrchFotia 3 года назад
Layer adhesion is better in pure pla than blends so that's fine. Thinking of using this stuff to replace esun pla+ since it's cheaper, more environmentally friendly, and seems to have decent mechanical properties.

They're amazing for miniatures. Matte finish allows for much easier painting and shading, especially if you're as lazy as I am and just use Contrast Paints.

I'd be interested in how well it does break down since normal PLA will only break down in temperatures around 60C. If you're interested in environmentally friendly filaments I switched to using Filamentive PLA about two years ago. They use up to 90% recycled plastics for their filament and I have not noticed any difference in strength or finish

Maybe I will include PolyTerra in temperature test in Part4 of my big PLA brand comparison. This is the first part: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-L9tNhfxs9BU.html

I just received my spools and tried them out on a Ender 3 . I have two such machines. My first machine ended up being clogged after the first layer peeled off several times even with the application of stick glue . My second machine had issues with adhesion however I fixed that issue and let the print continue. The print turned out good but I am not sure what nozzle temp will work better and what fan speed. The bed was at 60. I normally print with a bed temp at 55 and nozzle temp of 205. The second printer nozzle temp was 210. Fan speed 105.

I haven't tried a lot of filaments yet, but this one has odd properties. Left a print overnight, and once the plate cooled the parts popped off on their own (almost perfect adhesion while it was hot). It technically prints a lot slower than most PLAs but is that info just... outdated? I know printers are probably getting a lot faster now so maybe it was never tested above 70mm/s when it was first made? Yes it gets less glossy when going fast but it's already so matte.

I'm having such a hard time printing with this filament on my vyper. Bed adhesion and blobs are my big issue. I even followed polymakers retraction settings.
@MyTechFun
@MyTechFun 2 года назад
First solve the bed adhesion (glass?) Try some hairspray or PVA based glue stick. Blobs? Check the z offset distance and temperatures

Can someone tell me, since the website says, it is slightly more abrasive than normal pla, if after one roll, your nozzle still has 0.4 diameter ? i dont really want to wear out my nozzle just yet

I ordered some of the plastic without having watched the video and god forbid it is unusable if you plan to put any sort of mechanical stress on it. The layer adhesion, no matter the temperature and cooling is unusable.
