About the Charles Dickens Museum, London 

Simon Callow says in introduction "it's the only one of Dickens homes you can still visit". I think he forgot about the quaint little museum in Portsmouth, Hampshire in the UK. Charles Dickens Birthplace museum is open to visitors. It's like stepping back in time. You get to stand in and absorb the atmosphere of the actual room he was born in. It's a small house but full of history and wonderful to explore. I thoroughly recommend!

I was there in May of 2016. Visiting from New York during my honeymoon! One of the highlights of that wonderful occasion

Nicely done. Looks like the museum has actually improved since my only visit over 20 years ago (and it was pretty fascinating even back then). I'll definitely have it on my "must see" list the next time I return to London!

This place was horrible to an American gentleman who came there at 4:05 pm in September of 2018. You turned him away, when the hours stated you were open till 5pm when he checked the website before travelling there. He was told that he was five minutes late! What kind of a business is this that you turn away a person who spent so much money GETTING THERE only to be told he was FIVE MINUTES LATE in coming in? Horrible, because this young man is a RU-vid VLOGGER and has over 64,000 subscribers to his site, and many more who watch and don't subscribe. WE ALL SAW HOW HE WAS TREATED and this sends out a very negative message to anyone who would have planned on coming there. Great business ethics...for sure!
