Above & Beyond release their long-awaited collaboration with anamē, ‘Gratitude’ feat. Marty Longstaff) on April 14 through Anjunabeats.
This collaboration marks the debut of anamē: a new alias from Swedish hitmaker Marcus Schössow and production partner Thomas Sagstad. 'Gratitude' also marks the return of Sunderland singer-songwriter Marty Longstaff to Anjunabeats, the voice of Above & Beyond's 'Tightrope' and 'Flying By Candlelight'.
Debuted during Above & Beyond's sold-out London festival at The Drumsheds in 2021, 'Gratitude' is both a jubilant vocal ballad and a tough, dancefloor filler. During Above & Beyond's winter tour, which sold nearly 70,000 tickets across the USA, the significance of this record to the group's dedicated fan community was immediately apparent. It has cemented itself as a future classic for Jono, Tony and Paavo, standing alongside some of their best-loved anthems like 'You Got To Go' and 'Thing Called Love'.
Marcus Schössow's production resumé is extensive: he's collaborated with all three members of Swedish House Mafia, as well as Bassjackers, and has released on Revealed Records, Spinnin', SIZE, Armada and Axtone.
More commonly found performing under the moniker The Lake Poets, Marty Longstaff rose to prominence with the moving acoustic ballad ‘Shipyards’. The song accompanies the opening credits to the sleeper hit Netflix documentary, ’Sunderland ’Till I Die’.

My brother just sent this to my sister and eye as our mother is passing away from Breast cancer. They don't think she'll make it by the end of the week as she had several seizures and a mini stroke and is barely responsive. We lost our Dad about 2 yrs ago. This coming Sunday, mother's day, would've been their 40th wedding anniversary. Neither of them made it to their 60s. Eye'm truly grateful that we had them as parents. They were truly the best and one of the most magical people. *Gratitude*

So much gratitude that Above & Beyond are still popular! I first saw them at a a rave back in 2002 when electronic music was still underground. They gave me my first trance goosebumps! I had hopes they would stay popular over the coming years as I grew up. Luck would have it, dance music would become mainstream and popular and they stayed in the scene. Here it is 2023 and I am still with them! 🙂 Gratitude!

It would be lovely to hear a stripped back house mix of this where the vocal is the complete centre of the track. Every mix I have heard is either where the synths are fighting to dominant with the vocal or it goes off in completely the wrong direction when the vocal stops. DJ's just don't like real singers I suppose.
