Every time one denies truth, even in little, the harder it becomes to see it. Making excuses, trying to see Ellen's words as not contradicting the Bible's words. Lesson studies only keep Adventists from reading the Bible daily for themselves, keeping their eyes shut from truth. It is a system to keep them locked in. Thank You Colleen for your continued attempt to help them see and in helping us who have family still studying their indoctrination every day in lesson studies.

This is not exactly on topic, but felt lead to share this. I came across something in Christ in his Sanctuary, it was actually an excerpt of The Great Controversy, and what I read stood out like a sore thumb. Ellen expressly states that the Law given to Moses is an exact transcript (an exact transcript, mind you, word for word) of the Law in ark in Heaven (according to her). So I went back to Exodus 20, and I read the decalogue. If this be true, and the Law given to Moses is an Exact copy: -Why is Egypt mentioned in the eternal law if Egypt be but a temporal nation on earth? -Why warn against making images of things on the earth or water below if the earth and sea are temporal things that came after the "eternal decalogue"? -If the sabbath is based on the 6 days of creation, how the heck can the "eternal law" be based on something that hasn't even yet come to pass, since the earth came into being after the "eternal law"? -How can a person honor a father and mother in heaven, if no one is given in marriage in heaven and thus give birth to children? What is this land that he is given them? is not the land promised to Abraham? Once again this earthly, temporal things that came into being after creation, after the "eternal law" which always was. -Can one murder in heaven? -Can one commit adultery in heaven? -Will we be thieves in heaven? -Will we be liars in heaven -How can one covet one's neighbors wife????? We don't get married in heaven! Angels don't get married! She said exact transcript (exact means what exact means) and a person think she's God's prophet, you have to deal with this teaching of hers.

ROMANS CHAPTER 10 says it all Not understanding God God's Righteousness the go about establishing their OWN righteousness/ Paul goes on speaking of this disobedience. We are not called to establish our righteousness. We are to display His already established Righteousness by having Christ formed in us! Because of the Adventist "Great Controversy" lie, They are blinded to this foundational truth. AS Paul tells Timothy, "ever learning, never coming to the knowledge of the truth."

I would love these text to be explained because I am totally confused KJV Acts 2:29, 34 29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, KJV Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

*I would love these text to be explained because I am totally confused* *KJV Acts 2:29, 34 29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,* It is my understanding, that David is being quoted about his prophesy about Christ and that He would die and rise again. The author is witnessing, that this event had already happened and was contrasting that though David’s body was still in the grave, his linage (Christ the king) had risen and was now forever on His throne. Reading verses 22-36 together helps explain this. *KJV Ecclesiastes 9:5-6* *5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.* Again my understanding is that, Solomon is describing what happens with our physical human fleshly body when we die. He is not describing what happens with our spirit. The SDA counterfeit pseudo-Christian organization has taken this verse, applied an interpretation that the writer was not saying, then have made it a proof text to prove their false doctrine of soul sleep. Miss Colleen, I appreciate how you motivate me to double check things in the Bible. When we look at the passage in Mark 12:27 (ICB) "God is the God of living people, not dead people. You Sadducees are wrong!” It is important to look at the parallel passages in the other gospels. Luke 20:38 (ISV) "He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, because he considers all people to be alive to him.” And another translation, (CEV) "So the Lord isn't the God of the dead, but of the living. This means that everyone is alive as far as God is concerned." To me, Jesus is specifically addressing the erroneous belief of the Sadducees that didn't believe in a resurrection. Jesus was saying that God IS LIFE, and that God owns each life and has power over it. Jesus was not saying that Abraham was alive in heaven somewhere (that would not agree with a ton of other scriptures), He is saying, in the same way that all of time--past and future--is as real and known to God as is the present, so all persons, weather they are dead, currently alive or yet unborn, are alive in the mind and heart of God. Thus God can resurrect anyone at anytime, it is completely within His power to do so.

First, the more literal translations do not render these texts the ways the versions do that you use. Second, the texts are not saying that "so all persons, weather they are dead, currently alive or yet unborn, are alive in the mind and heart of God." That is your Adventist-interpreted understanding, not the plain meaning of the text. Read 2 Corinthians 5:1-9 and Philippians 1:20-23. I recommend that you read this article for a more in-depth study of the biblical teaching of the human spirit and what it means to be "alive" and "dead". blog.lifeassuranceministries.org/2021/05/27/are-humans-more-than-living-bodies/

@@stevedaley3107 No, this is just repeating nonsense statements that are similar to the responses given when they hear that Christians are not under the Old Covenant law. “Well, I guess you can just lie, steal and kill then.” I would recommend watching the video and read the article linked in the post above. Those caught up in the *SDA counterfeit pseudo-Christian organization* are physicalist and usually deny that humans have an immaterial spirit that departs the body at death and then await their eternal destination. The righteous believers *will be* united with their glorified bodies, designed to live in the presence of God. It is the *‘when this happens’* that there are differences of interpretation.

Is a possible application of the issue, "God of the living," be the dead are not dead, but sleeping, live people do sleep. The Father certainly does have these people in mind for the first thing that happens at Christ's return is the waking of the dead in Christ. You commented that spiritual beings are alive in heaven. I do not know what that means, what is the consistency of these spiritual people and what happens at reresection of Christ's people?
@jimliley8850
@jimliley8850 16 дней назад
First, as former SDA’s, the ‘soul sleep doctrine’ is rejected outright. We accept that what we read in the scriptures using normal rules of interpretation and application. When Paul tells us that just before the tribulation Christ will bring with Him all the believers (New Covenant believer spirits) will at that moment, be reunited with our glorified human body designed to be in God’s presence. Paul is very clear that when a believer dies our spirit is in that moment, instantaneously in the presence of God. Our spirits have some conscious awareness similarly to the rich man and Lazarus as told by Christ and written in Luke. (Christ never used an untruth to teach a truth) God is spirit and I understand that it is our spirit that is the image of God as told in Genesis. We also see in Revelation the spirits under the alter are communicating with God and He comforts them and gives them robes to wear until they are given their glorified bodies.

I have a suggestion for you. Take your Bible and read the entire book of Galatians (only six chapters) every day, from beginning to end, for one month. Ask the Lord to teach you what He wants you to know from that book. When you have finished with Galatians, go to the book of John. Get a notebook, and literally begin copying John, a few verses every day, into a notebook, asking the Lord to show you what it is actually saying. Also, if you want to know the true definition of the gospel, look at 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. it is very simple and straightforward: Jesus died for our sins according to Scripture, He was buried, and He rose from the dead according to Scripture. This is the summary of the gospel. There is no ongoing application of His blood in heaven. There is no new work that began in 1844. I challenge you to open your own Bible and begin to read-IN CONTEXT-what it says. the Bible is an amazing thing: it is living; it pierces our own hearts and reveals us to ourselves and God's will to us (Hebrews 4:12, 13). None of us can escape dealing with God; He has given us everything we need in Jesus, and His word reveals His purposes and our true natures. Literally, Kenisha, open your Bible and take the time simply to read IN CONTEXT. Don't explain away the plain meaning of the words. Read it; believe it, and ask the Lord to teach you.

@@kenisharobert2369 you misunderstood me. Read a while book for a month-six chapters a day. It’s a short book. It is studying Scripture in context that exposes Adventism. I know you have not read Scripture systematically in context. If I “proof-texted” you, taking phrases you have said to different people at different times and combined those phrases to “prove” you said things which you did not say in context, you would rightly accuse me of lying and misrepresenting you. Yet that is what Adventism has done to the Bible. It’s easy to say “the critics” don’t use the Bible and that I am not giving any Bible texts ( although these accusations are not true), but if you really believe the Bible tells the truth, then it should not be a problem for you to take my challenge. If you really believe the Bible tells the truth, read it systematically in context. The only way to really know what it says is to read it on its own terms.

The dead will come back to life at the Second coming of Jesus, to them it will appear as if it is only a moment or only one Second not even an hour, because in their death Eccl 9: 5 they know nothing about the psssing of time, at Lazarus' death Jesus said he sleeps, only a living person sleeps, this is how God says that He is the God of the living. We SDAs are not making any mistake in this matter to understand such simple statement.
