This time Abrams X, which is not a prototype of the next generation of the abrams tank, but a technology demonstrator. The new solutions will undoubtedly be used in the construction of the tank of the future, as well as in subsequent versions of the conventional M1 Abrams.
The unmanned turret is equipped with a 120 mm XM360 smoothbore cannon, powered by an automatic loader. In addition to super armor, the safety of the Abrams X is enhanced by the Trophy active vehicle protection system and laser radiation and the launch of anti-tank guided missiles warning system.
The tank also has new digital imaging systems, as well as a new fire control system. There is a remotely controlled Kongsberg Protector RS6 weapons module with a 30 mm M230 automatic cannon, enabling the destruction of unmanned aerial vehicles.
The crew is located in an armored capsule in the hull and it was reduced from 4 to 3 soldiers. The Abrams X uses a hybrid power unit - combustion engine and electric motor. In addition, the tank has a hydropenumatic suspension.
The model released by Amusing Hobby is a great product for a quick project for a few evenings and the opportunity to use your own ideas for painting and weathering. For me, this is another project, next to KF51, that powers a number of my models that represent prototypes. This series show my modifications and ideas used to turn this kit into interesing piece of modelling stuff! I can say that this is the next generation of badass!
