It's come full circle. People are craving that oldskool deathcore sound again. It's so funny to even talk about it because deathcore was the new thing back then. You can pioneer a music genre like Despised Icon did with deathcore but after 10 years you'll be oldskool lol

I think a really interesting thing with the Abrogations Crown re-do was that by virtue of changing the production, it completely changes the vibe of the music. Like, that original recording sounds like everything is being slammed in the mix, with those DFH drum samples, super loud guitar, super loud vocals. It kind of creates a sound that was very of that time. Whereas in the newer version where everything has room to breath in the mix, it changes the vibe. I think the new version is dope as hell.
11:55 I think it depends. For example Cannibal Corpse pretty much released the same music for their entire career with minor changes. Not a whole lot of experimentation going on there. Yet they're the biggest extreme metal band. BUT there are also bands like Bring me the Horizon who started out as a deathcore band and reached super stardom by drastically changing their sound and trying new things all the time
1:18 Loud minorities are a real thing. For example the majority of your fans probably just listens to your music and never ever interacts on social media with you. So you never really get their input but the remaining 5% or so will comment. 3:25 Bingo! Why spend energy remaking stuff when you can spend that energy to create something new. Never seen any women comment on bands I follow except your band. 6:50 I'm surprised not more bands are asking you for guest vocals sincle you're very respected in the scene and sound unique. Actually I think that's a super effective way to branch out to different audiences

I would love to do vocals on a song with you brother, you wouldn’t regret it. Or even a remake of an old unreleased song or something. I’m game. I’m trying to get my name out there and even find a band that is looking for a vocalist. It’s hard to find a band out there so, maybe this will change that.
