Abs and pbt are both good. It really depends on manufacturer. I just hate when they spray paint on whatever plastic because that spray is handoil magnet

Corsair lied to you, they do it cuz of the money. Pbt keycaps cost way more. They can easily make a budget keyboard expensive.

I used to have the HyperX Alloy Elite RGB with standard ABS keycaps and after a year or maybe a little longer than a year, they really got glossy and felt quite greasy. Even after I cleaned them, it didnt take long until it was like that again. Now I have the Razer Huntsman V2 TKL with the PBT Keycaps and they are far superior with not collecting any grease or finger oils. They feel absolutely fantastic!

HyperX Pudding keycaps (white ones) are the best by far. Then I would say the Razer PBT keycaps.

Man I have had my BlackWidow X TE since Launch with stock Keys and None of them have any sort of wear and tear on them!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel lucky. Tomorrow I will be replacing them with the HyperX Black Pudding Keys. So this will absolutely Extend the life of my stock Keys in case I wish to use them again in the future.

I am a fan of cosair. I CHANGE EVERY OF MY KEYBOARD FROM COSAIR BECAUSE COSAIR HAS THE WORST KEYCAPS IN THE WORLD.( k65mini, k70 and one k95, and a all three keycaps can't be better then the $30 keyboard that I bought whatever brand it was when I went back to visit my parents)

basically changing keycaps doesnt change the sound as much as different mods do, lube, PUR accustic foam, tape mod etc fix the sound WAAAYY more

but i don't understand the "better rgb" thing. look at duckys keyboards for example. the most crispy rgb i have seen. with pbt keycaps. i think that they are just tricking us.

Question for you. When one considers buying a premium keyboard what things should be considered? Does product support such as replacement parts and warranties factor into your purchase? For example do brands like razor, Logitech and Corsair stand behind their products or does one buy their keyboards only to toss them in a few years of and when they fail? Alternatively, are brands like Ducky or WASD on a completely different level when it comes to quality and protect support?

Can these all be used for keyboards from other brands?

I think why manufacturers are choosing ABS is because it's better for marketing the products, it looks very clean before it'll get all worn fast

Thank you so much for doing this, just got my Razer BWV2 Chroma and I was wondering if I should upgrade to PBT or not. One thing which they fixed is the lighting on the alternate options for the number keys and symbols, wish they also did this with the function keys. Btw I got the orange switches (tactile) and I absolutely love the feel but, I don't like the sound. Do the linear ones which you have sound similar?

i used my blackwidow chroma since 2016 to last month. I only sold it because i made a full PC upgrade and got a huntsman TE. It literally looked like out of the box when I sold it. I dont know what you all talk about, the keycaps were literally shining new after 4 years. What the fuck do y;all do with your keyboards, do you hammer them once in a while? Also, it's not the keycaps that started to give in after 4 years, but the actual switches on WASD started to slightly loose the clickyness (razer green). Other than that I call bullshit, (good)ABS, PBT, they all last a lifetime, I cannot imagine what the fuck you people are doing to your poor keyboards.

How do you "lose" your shortcuts? They are still there, just the "legend" for it is gone. Nothing is lost. I swapped the keys on the keyboard, and then had the reference chart up until I remembered the shortcuts. Also doesn't the razr keyboard have an issue with finding the bottom row for the keycaps? My favorite layout is the 80% layout with some carbon keycaps

For me is the feeling, the abs keycaps feel hollow, soft, like you keyboard is made of lego or something, pbt caps feel strong, heavy, full and like an actual keyboard, even the cheapest pbt keycaps feel better for me.

Glad I watched your video as I was a bit disappointed in my Razer PBT keycaps. Some of them have dark spots and as a whole they are darker than the ABS. Thought I had got a bad set but your explanation clears it up. Cheers.
