Absolute nightmare at Romanian border on Royal Enfield Himalayan

Thought I would take a trip into Romania on my Royal Enfield Himalayan 411. Rather than wait for the ferry I decided to cross the river Danube on the road bridge. What a mistake!! Miles and miles of lorries. The cars didn't stand a chance.

Knowing myself, I suspect I would never be crossing the border. Not even on my Himalayan. Are there other more "rustic" crossing points somewhere? A small ferry that doesn't haul trucks? Man, it did look like a genuine nightmare to me!

It was a nightmare. Usually I take another route and catch a ferry over but thought I would try a different route. Never again! I will stick to the ferry crossing that is only about 28km from my home.

In fact I feel sorry for all having to cross that mess. No wonder commodities are expensive. Schengen might be a good idea after all.

That's bloody NUTS! I hope those truck drivers are being paid by the hour 😳 I thought the peak hour queue to cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge was bad 🤣

Considering Romania and Bulgaria are supposed to be poor countries the roads are better than England. Ours are now bloody awful!

They are not so good here. Problem is in summer it's 40C + and it melts the tarmac and in the winter it's - 10 to - 25 and blows the tarmac to bits plus all the lorries totally destroy it

It's hit and miss I think. The problem is they are checking every lorry for immigrants as the lorries have come from Turkey through Bulgaria marking there way across Europe.
