Video Recorded on October 26, 2022: Ahhh these BEAUTIFUL elevators!!! Even though replaced, but still have the beautifully decorated elevator cabs that still blends in well with the historical interiors of the building itself. Before I go further, I want to wish Sam Starr (‪@SPS8elevatorsoflakecounty‬) a VERY Happy Birthday! I think this would possibly be the best content to upload in terms of amazing elevators although not vintage though. So, I decided to choose this one. Anyways, this old and historic building used to be the National Union Bank from 1914 until it became vacant at some point in the 20's from what I've read searching it up, until it became a hotel after Marriott took over. Even though renovated, STILL retained almost MOST of the historical charm! I absolutely LOVE the elevator hallway lobby!!! :D These elevators were definitely replaced. The elevator car on the right had definitely replaced an old gated manually controlled elevator based on how small the cab is, but the elevator car on the left was obviously added on as it's a lot bigger than the one on the right. There was only a single elevator car back when it was just a bank building which I could possibly assume. But in the meantime, these elevators were definitely replaced tastefully with Otis Series 4. Cabs still contain a beautiful hand carved walls with mirrors featuring posters displayed on each side. That picture of an EMD F9 locomotive from the left elevator car definitely intrigued me the most...LOL!! XD And do you also want to know what's better? THEY UNLOCKED THE GUEST FLOORS!!! :D :D :D Yes, my reaction was definitely amusing...LOL. Anyways, these are definitely the most beautiful elevators in this old historic hotel and certainly my most favorite in the Houston area. That being said, I hope you enjoy this video and Happy Birthday to Sam. Installed originally in 1914, completely replaced in 2004.

Nice elevators with those paintings on the cabs' walls, especially for a historic building that makes you want to go over 100 years back in time. And nice use of a radial floor indicator on the outside to keep that nostalgia in place and what they used to use before this electronic technology.

Wow! These elevators are beautiful. I love the cabs. This is how you should replace elevators in historic buildings.

There’s a train on the elevator! These elevators are so cool! Like the floor indicator it looks like a clock! Very nice!

So beautiful! I'm wondering if it is easy to go that hotel and film the elevators?

It should be easy. Hopefully it still is.
