Wow. That is how you command a power play: pinch on the corners of the blue line if there's a loose puck, distribute, and pass the puck around take the time if you're not being challenged. It takes less energy to pass the puck that your opponents skating around to defense it, especially if they're not challenging like this. Digging for it helps a lot as well. Total domination, and it just wore these guys out. Did the Canucks win this game? If they did, THIS was the backbreaker.
@dfowls
@dfowls 14 лет назад
It's true in a way, they didn't allow a shot on goal until very late in the powerplay. That being said, they didn't clear the puck for over 1:30 which led to the goal.
@rattymcrat99
@rattymcrat99 14 лет назад
i like right around 10 seconds left on the powerplay, the oilers defender slid in front of one the sedins in the corner, and just laid there until he got rid of the puck, he was definatly dead tired
@choderama
@choderama 16 лет назад
Canucks make every NW team look like an AHL team, and that's crazy because the NW division has some very good teams. Even the mighty Flames with their big run as of late have only beat the Canucks once in five games. And even that game was only by 1 goal and they barely won. Not to mention Canucks are injury riddled and still doing this.

Two minutes and twenty seconds a shift by the Vancouver Canucks. That was quite a shift! Even if the Edmonton Oilers did kill off their two minute penalty, they still could clear the puck out of their zone. It was only a matter of time until a Sedin scored the goal.

No disrespect to futball players, it's a wonderful sport. But the reason I love hockey is that you become as tired in a couple minute long shifts or a powerplay shift as you do in a half a game of futball. It's really fast and relentless. This shift is prime example.

I'm an Oiler fan, but the Sedins are amazing at controlling the play and keeping possession of the puck, and Kesler can just be a beast when he wants to, as he was on this shift. Tarnstrom was the big weak link for the Oilers on that PK--no idea what he was doing out there to begin with, but that's MacT for you; he had some crazy ideas sometimes.

Souray has to take full blame for that goal. Although obviously he's tired, there is still no excuse to leave your man wide open like that for the cross ice pass and to make it worse, he just stands there and lets Daniel shoot.

I hate Vancouver. I was probably cheering for Edmonton in this game, which as a Flames fan is pure vomit. But that shit is just amazing. You never see that. They held it in at least 4 times, collected tons of rebounds and looked creative the whole time. It looked like practice. Vancouver were pretty deadly at this point. If Luongo wasn't such a fucking sieve and Aaron Rome didn't go head hunting, Vancouver would have a cup.

Yes, I do agree there too, we lean on Bobby Lou... ALOT, But we kinna have to when we don't score lol. Nazzy just needs his confidence up, which, when we played Dallas, it was.. Scored twice in the game, & in the shootout.. & Yes.. Linden said it did bug him too, but he knows his role, and thats to help the younger kids, in practices & games when he's playing. Im pretty sure that When he retires [which will be a sad day] he'll come right back into the organization, sorta like Stevie Y.

@AndyE8D what do you think is hardest, scoring 5on5, 5on4 or 5on3? Resorting to personal jabs like that doesn't validate your argument. Why do you think there are "power play specialists"? Marc-André Begeron had 10 goals on the power play but he's useless 5 on 5. Because 5 on 5 hockey is harder because you have to be able to do more than "Standing around, passing tape to tape, taking shots". A power play goal is easier than a 5on5.
