You have to be careful. in some texts you can find the water with pka 14 (gas phase). the acidity in solution is predominantly due to the combination of a) polarizibility and b) solvation, and that the electron donating ability of the substituent does not play a significant role.

For this reason, we find methanol more acidic than water.
