About the piece: I have a friend who is a writer. She gets her inspiration from 3 crows that live in her back yard. When she wants to write she walks to her window and calls the crows to help drive her creativity. I truly enjoyed creating this piece; it was fun, exciting and inspiring

Hi there - thank you for watching the video - sorry for the delayed response. I used a few tools for this piece. I started with sponging which I really like to blend colors. I wanted to smooth out the sponging technique with a soft brush. My favorite tool is a simple puddle knife which is what I used in the end. I also like using a spray bottle with just water to allow paint to run. I hope this helps. Would love to see you work. Cheers Shari

Hi Brenda - thank you for watching. I hang my canvases on the wall with screws placed strategically so I can hang different sizes. I use screws because the head is thicker and catches better on the wood frame. I hope this helps Cheer Shari

You work is absolutely beautiful. Can you tell me if you added anything in your acrylic paint to make it stay wet for you to be able to blend it later on and also it seems like you are using a straight tool to sometimes paint with...what is it?
@sharikreller5645
@sharikreller5645 8 лет назад
Hi and sorry for the delayed response. I don't usually add anything to my paints unless it's a little water. I use the spray bottle to help keep the paint wet so i can blend it. Sometimes if too dry i add additional paint. As for the tool, i bought some paint trowels if that's what you call them from the art store - mostly used for oi. they have many different edges and enjoy using them. I use to use the good old puddy trowel from Homedepot and still do. It's my favorite. Some other fun thing you can do is use ordinary stuff from around the house... BBQ sauce brush, plain piece of cardboard, bubble wrap ... you name it. Just try and it and see what it will create. thanks for watching Cheers Shari

@sharikreller5645
@sharikreller5645 8 лет назад
+Kevin effner I Kevin, thanks for your question. I just put screws in the fake wall I built - I placed them strategically so i could get at least 2-3 screws to hag a large canvas on. Because i used large screws the head of the screw fits nicely under the wood of the frame. I hope this helps Cheers Shari

Hi and sorry for the delayed response. Thank you for your kind words. I actually love to watch other artist paint. Then i try their technique and create something beautiful. I love using a sponge because to doesn't quite blend the color completely and leaves each color chosen the remain in its own way. Thanks for watching Cheers Shari

Hi Jiou, I paint with emotion and mood if that helps. I wanted to paint a picture based on my friends interaction and inspiration of crows.
