Oil on canvas 19" x 15"
Paint used: Daler Rowney - Georgian - Oil Colour For Artists
(I used a sharpie marker at the beginning)
EDIT: there is a section of video that I lost and consequently it skips a part of the process. a lot of people have asked how i went from blocks of colour to getting a blended effect. All i did was blend the blocks of paint into one another by smudging along the curves using mainly my fingers. You can see me starting that briefly at 1:42 ...then after that it jumps on ahead.

Love the piece....and that ending was adorable! I can't count how many times I've gone home from the studio, stopped at the store for something and then gotten home only to realize I had paint on my face (and clothes, and shoes....).

Landscapes are what I have eyes and a camera for. I do not know who let you into teaching art, but you have to be the most closed-minded teacher I've heard of. I bet you spent a lot of money to make it as an artist but had to settle on teaching middle school children how to be judgmental of others.

Thats one of the nicest paintings I've seen recently, in my opinion. I like how abstract art can promote feelings without "telling" you what to feel. Very nice work man

Oh wow! I love your line direction choices, colors, and the music fits it so well. I can see the waves. Really beautiful abstract painting. It's hard to be interesting enough with abstract work, but you did so successfully.

I am such a huge fan of abstract art! I am remodeling my bedroom and the walls looks so bare. I wanted to splatter paint it but my parents disagreed. Now it seems art would help these barren walls.

@JennyxCookies119 thank you. that's great! i didn't use acrylic for this painting, just oil paint. and i used it straight from the tube. no thinning at all. it's quite thick already and blends very well. with acrylic it would be difficult to produce an effect like i did here due to acrylics drying very quickly. hope that helps!

i like it. especially the color scheme. reminded me of the time vortex :D and this is why i use acrylic instead of oil. it's not as messy :)

Amazing Abstract. You have inspired me make one for my Art Class. :D But I have a small question. The how much water does it have to be the Acrylic. Does the paint have to be thick or thin? Hope you understand me D:

@Redfoday In early stages of a painting it's sort of a good idea to use thinnssr to make an underpainting. But I would suggest underpainting with watercolors since those dry quicker. When you've got a good color basis in your underpainting any black spots on the canvas will show through as the color you layered underneath. But never put thinned paints over fatter paints or you get cracking. That's the "Fat over lean" rule.

@dvdvns you could try. although acrylic is fast drying so you wouldn't be able to blend the paint so well like i've done here.

@classypockets i'm often the same, as good paint is so expensive, but if you've just got to go for it! don't be afraid to slap it on. like @elpelone said, use water to thin acrylics, or turpentine for oils. that'll help if you don't want to put such a thick layer on. and thank you! glad my painting could inspire you :)
