His current approach is so forward-thinking and mature which I love, but if you're in the mood his old stuff is hard as fuck too. He's got it all. And theres something about his flow that just seems to steal the show, even rubbing shoulders with a rapper as prestigious as Brother Ali. Mad respect.

I stay in Orlando, when Abstract came to my city I caught his set at The Social. His set was real mellow and chill. Some hype parts to dance but for the most part he really just did a solid set. Anyways me and my cool ass hip hop friends got to chill and smoke with homie for a bit. We cyphered for a while and he killed it with the freestyles too. A true performer. Dudes dope.

I’m not sure if this is something people even take notice of, it’s a weird specific thing that is probably specific to me, but the way someone starts a verse (especially when they’re coming in as a feature) is one if my favorite parts of hip hop and there’s certain rappers where I just love how they come in on every feature, Slug is one of those so was DOOM. I’ve been rapping for a long time now and I’ve grown a lot from when I was in high school starting, but even those early days making songs with my friends I remember consciously thinking about how I’d come in on the feature, I’d always want to be second because of that haha
