I try to make an effort to keep the work surface free from clutter when I film the videos, behind the scenes is very untidy. That wasn't coffee but the water i was using on the artwork. Although I usually have a coffee during filming and try not to mix the two.

How do the chalk marker ink not dry out for you? Every time I try it's dried before I can apply it.

Work in small sections and just keep applying when dry, it takes practice and you need to work fast.

I'm really beginning to like the Chalkola monoprint pieces. They have a poster quality due to the matte finish. How on earth did you come across the idea of using these markers for this purpose?? Love the finished piece. Your process is fascinating to watch. Thank you.

I was asked by the company to try them and film a demo, I too was surprised by what you could do with them, they dry fast and come in a fantastic range of colours. I still experiment with them.

It is just recycled plastic, try bin liners or carrier bags.

This is not paper but just recycled plastic. Try bin liners or carrier bags.

Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks, I only discovered these a few months ago so I am still experimenting with them. I forgot to point out in the demo that all finished work must be sprayed with a fixative and finished with a matt varnish.

They are something that I have only just begun to experiment with but I recommend giving them a try.

@dan tirels Try Kwik Stix tempera paint sticks!!! They are vivid, beautiful solid tempera paints, in glue-stick form! I use them for my gel plate mono-prints. (Or Ooly brand "Chunkies"...they seem the same quality.) I also use Ooly Chalk Crayons with great success!
