On top of being an excellent musician and performer, I can't even begin to imagine how vast Proscriptor's culture is. Each and every Absu album centers around an absurdly specific theme and story. The man might be a university professor for all I know
it makes me sad that ABSU isnt a well known band. i made my own posters of them, wrote school essays on them, sent a letter to them when i was a kid, tried to get people into them but i grew up in Africa so it was hard hahahaha and still are my favourite band of all time.
dude, i fucking LOVE hearing about metal fans (and bands) who are from places you expect to have ANY metal fans. make the dark continent EVEN DARKER! -l-
He always been the major driving force within Absu, a (very) huge part of this band very soul, right. I still believe Shaftiel, as well as Equitant deserves recognition as well. The Absu that i love started with this trio. I got an old physical copy of barathrum. I never liked it. Nothing against the people involved at this time. I just, dislike this album pretty much. My only wish is that Shaftiel / Equitant was able to keep the vibes i felt in In the Eyes of Ioldanach. Got hooked to Absu as i heard Never blow out in an old osmose compilation. The day i ''re-''heard Never blow out Ioldanach version, i shitted on myself.
Very impressive theatrical live performance of proscriptor & ABSU...truly mythological black metal & unique underground music genre!!!!hope will this band live performances here in davao ,philippines!!!
Wow first time watching a live Absu performance and was not expecting that! Very impressive theatrics from proscriptor and a truly unique black metal performance!! Man I wanna see them live, come to Leeds UK!!
Got to see them in the bumfuck town of missoula, Montana, USA. Supposedly they were not very happy with the turnout, but I cannot express how much it meant to me as a small town metalhead.
Missoula is full of hipsters, homeless, and parasites. I came here in 2020, started working with Bayern and decided to stay. When was Absu around here? Also, know the song they're playing? I had a dream that I played the acoustic part on a guitar. Hails. : )
The album version of this has King Diamond on it and I think Diamond taught Proscriptor that a dramatic addition to metal can add to a band's stage presence
Not quite correct. He may have contributed a bit, but the main clean vocals were by Ronnie Trent. King Diamond appeared on 'She Cries a Quiet Lake' and 'The Cognate House of Courtly Witches Lies West of County Meath'
@@deusintroclades696 Two of the best Absu tracks ever. Proscriptor used to do falsetto (e.g. _Highland Tyrant Attack_ ) but decided he'd outsource to the falsetto O.G. on _Tara_ 😁
imagine a band where proscriptor and immolation's vigna start casting their spells on stage hahaha 2 guys with the best moves in metal (no, i am not counting crab walk, abbath would not fit into spell casting).
Hey, no reason it can't be both funny and awesome. 🙃 Proscriptor is definitely both of those things (intentionally and unintentionally, on both counts.)
Anybody who doesn´t find this one of the most Metal things they´ve ever been exposed to is simply not paying attention to , either what´s going on in here , or to Metal in general .
Never ever should have kicked Melissa out of this band. I saw them in Boston with Proscriptor on drums and it was amazing. Too bad Russ couldn't get over a non-issue, I guess. Massively disappointing.
I owned their complete discography one day, but just sold everything at once. At the end the band started to bore me. Somehow their albums started to sound the same. 'Of Celtic Fire We Are Born' will always remain a classic though. Hey! Wat doet Martin van Drunen daar dan?! 3:21 x) Martin is echt overal aanwezig! haha
Come on.... sooo gay we all know it Mr. Givens. some pretty skimpy pants there too :P Its OK u know, you still rule. Just wtf was all that with your guitarist about? Are you that insecure about coming out that you have to punish you fellow bandmate for coming out as trans? Come on man..... seriously thats not a cool move id want better from one of my fav musicians out there. its 2021, Rob Halford did it and metalheads still respect him and they will still respect you cause you made really good music.
I busted out laughing when he started singing, no wonder Slayer didn't want him.Yeah ,i watched his audition , he missed a fill and didn't add lib like Lombardo did. Staite power cords, Did the guitar player just learn to play guitar ? Hes one ugly chick ,same with bass player. Protractor (is that his name) stoll Diamond Dallas Pages hand signal , and moves around the stage like Arthur Brown and King Diamond. If Protractor is so awsome , why did he even bother trying out for Slayer ? Drummer was ok. Sounded like" The Horror Of Yig" bagpipes at the end of the video. WTF !
