Heh, awsome channel, I also like same topics lol taoísm, animes, philosophy stuff... I like stocks and macro... Up sub it, I'd find awsome to do the same!! Yeah, F# it, great philosophy!! Lol you won
Helped me and motivated me alot I'm glad I came across this video right now when I woke up, going through really tough times of my life but its all lessons I need to learn 😊
@@user-ze8zo5uv2swhy would you say something like that? It might not be helpful to you but there are people who appreciate this work, besides, there is a person behind this channel who is putting in the effort to create this, so please just keep such opinions to yourself
Some people make it hell, but other people of opposed characters to those people may be indispensable as nothing truly great is done wholly alone (c.f. Malcolm Gladwell). Those who make it hell are pretty obvious - are they, you know, _hurting you?_ The question is more whether you are too attached to them to give them up (and note that some abusers can actually "trauma bond" you to them).
A rhapsody of ill thought. Man is a social animal our passion our desires our greatness is through the extent of people it is then ones ownself who chooses to be hell.
Sure. This sounds nice. But when you think of it, could you give an example how this advice would actually apply in the real world? I am thinking about a situation where you did something one way before watching this video/advice and how you instead would do it after embracing the advice? My point is that most similar videos sounds inspirational, but there is not much you can actually do with it. Sure, finding meaning, to be resilient, increase your freedom anyone would agree are all good things, but this is already clear to everyone.
Absurdism is a great philosophy. I always remember my brother telling me he was having a particularly bad day once when we were kids and he said to our mum “why me?” Mum calmly replied “why not you?”
I always suffered greatly, trying to find meaning behind all the things happening in my life, constantly asking 'why me?' I was in much distress having been through overwhelming and traumatic experiences very early in life, and having a lot of unhealed emotions, I felt numb and detached. But things finally got better, I started releasing those suppressed emotions which came like a wave of flashbacks.... then came the void, the constant despair and the need to find the true meaning of my existence, but now when I think about it more clearly, I understand that anything does not have to be meaningful at all, Life inherently is meaningless, we as conscious human beings give it meaning, and moreover if ever there is anything more to your life than you think it is, it will happen to you sooner or later. So, we don't need to worry so much, just live in the moment and make each second as valuable as your whole life itself.
Your video helped me to understand the true meaning of absurdism. Believing life has meaning and trying to find it out is the root cause of suffering. People become nihilist and raise the next generation with the nihilist approach. Absurdism tells us straight that do not try to find meaning in life as life is inherently meaningless. Instead try to find a purpose and cultivate perseverance to fulfill that purpose.
100% There is no intrinsic value in life, that’s not to say individual people don’t have any value, of course they do. But life itself is just there, don’t get distracted trying to find out why, just enjoy the ride. In the scheme of things, that ride is terribly short, so enjoy it 😊
You can either built a constructive world for yourself or a destructive world. You don't need anything for that. If you know how habbits work and let go of any attachements you cannot reach at the moment. The only ingredient need is true love. Which goes really deep. Thus finding true inner love is hard. For most it will be a long term search. For example try not to do stuff only to be accepted (negative lower vibrating emotions). You sell yourself to the devil and will create a destructive world because that is not real love. True love is also not only positivity. True love means looking objectively at your self and the world around you. Seeing the "Yin and Yan" Understanding that this world is a grey zone, not just black and white and accepting it which brings you to the now. Sometimes you cannot stop these addiction (unhealthy relationsship that make u angry, dr*gs etc.) with no true love. Than it will be a confronting lesson with your inner shadows that you can learn from.
Freedom is an internal freedom not an external adjustment. If you don't take control of your life, someone else will. I will shortly quit my job and take a few months to reset ..can't wait.
Thanks for the video. I was fortunate to stumble across the Rebel by Camus years ago, in my 20’s and pick up on this direction. I think absurdity comes in trying to control things outside of our control. Focusing on what we can control is the most rebellious and liberating thing we can possibly do, and that’s when our lives truly take whatever meaning we give it. I’m 47 and as smart and as strong as I’ve ever been in my life. Society at large is rotting all around us, yet that’s all the more reason to laugh at its absurdity and be as healthy and free as possible.
1. Embrace Freedom - Break the assumptions 2. Find meaning in the chaos - Fullfilment in pursuit of passion / energy 3. Cultivate resilience - Embrace the challenges Anti fragility - Don't let the set backs from having the life you want to live.
True purpose is helping others especially those that can’t speak for themselves. I know it’s hard because there’s more selfish people than giving ones and the western society is obsessed with becoming godlike. Have you ever done good things for others not just me me me?
I've attempted some pretty absurd things in my life, but nothing ever came of it. Although I must say I had a lot of fun and lived most my life as a free-spirited bohemian. Life's a mystery and then we're history!
You're on a humongous stone ball travelling at thousands of miles an hour around a million times more humongous impossible black ball, with trillions of humongous balls of pure energy along for the ride. How much more meaning do you want! You've been given this chance to see the story unfold. I'm not sure how much more meaning there could be!
Amazing video, and an amazing voice which is really important for these kinds of videos keep em coming and work more on these ideas of alienation of life in modern day, essay type videos you'll gain a lot of success, even if you don't who cares.
Thanks for the video. It feels a bit vague to me though. Sure, follow your own dreams and appreciate the moment, but most people already try to do this in some way or the other. I don't see how to translate this to any mindset change or something that will result in some action. Nice pep talk though and a reminder to keep trying.
How absurd would it sound that absurdism has it's own boundaries in the course you apply it in an intelligent beings' mind. Like Moralism and the phase of Justice. It's absurd to ignore the consequences but also absurb to embrace the consequences. Absurdism,in conclusion,is a cycle of mentality that begins with a fault and ends with a fault, where flout can be generous and also a pain to face but when applied with laws and polished with a fabric of light doesn't becomes an absurdity of a philosophy but a medium of sagacious model.
as a Christian, I look at absurdism a bit differently then most (if I am wrong about this, please correct me), instead of believing life has no meaning, think of it like this, we are all like children, learning and growing, we are taught subjects like math, science, and such, but for most of us, we believe that it is meaningless simply because it makes no sense to us now, and that it has no use now, but slowly as we grow, we relieve that math isn't some torture device parents made up to make us suffer, it helps us in so many things, the same with history and other subjects some people thought where useless and meaningless. the same is with life, life doesn't make any sense, it is absurd, but that doesn't mean it has no meaning, we are simply children, learning and growing, the journey is not more important then the lessons it teaches, because it is like a book, after the story reaches its end what are we left with, if not the lessons? the same is with life, we leave it having grown and learned things we couldn't have if we didn't feel pain, rest, joy, sorrow, war, peace, prosperity, famine, illnesses both physical or psychological, wholeness both through experience and wisdom, for we need the experience, both pain and joy, to gain the wisdom, but we need the wisdom in order to see the beauty in both. that is why I love absurdism, as it is a breath of life into western philosophy, which it is good to cover many dark, yet important problems, (i.e. Kafka, Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, etc.) as a dark room makes us appreciate when the lights are turned on, but if we simply just let the darkness consume us, if we believe everything is meaningless, there really wouldn't be a lighten room, just darkness. edit: amazing video, I really love how you described absurdism so simply, yet effectively. thank you.
Thank you for sharing your perspective! I appreciate the thoughtful comparison you made between learning in childhood and finding meaning in life through experiences. Your analogy to subjects like math and history, which may seem meaningless at first but reveal their value over time, is quite insightful.
@@Whisperingideas I am glad to share, and I am thankful for you sharing your perspective through these videos, it is great to see more and more channels sharing meaningful philosophical discussion, rather then just mindless click bait.
Hmm. I just now tried to use focused willpower to see if I could bifurcate myself to exist in 2 places at once. No success, but you did, after all, say to "ATTEMPT" the absurd. So I need to find more absurd things to attempt now. Which raises an interesting point, though - is there a "cadence" at which we should attempt such things? Because what if it would work (no scientific proof, but many anecdotes in various religions and mystic philosophies of similar things) if considerably more effort were put toward it? But all such effort comes an an opportunity cost in that one could be trying a different absurdity with potentially greater chance to yield fruit. Interesting!
There is even higher sense of freedom - when you realize coming up with meanings is usless since you can change it every minute. Essential experience of life remains the same, all meanings are locking you up. Let life live itself and let all illusions fall apart.
That's brilliant . Or you can choose an impossible goal like becoming something godlike . listing down the qualities of it and constantly try to adapt to it and grow endlessly even knowing that you'll never reach it , as then growth tends to infinity.
@@risesekken9596 It's ok if someone choose to pursue whatever possible or impossible. You have eternity ahead, so that's not wrong. But I realized there is no growth or evolution in any way. We are just changing (not to better, not to worse, just changing). Progress is a concept and in my perception it has vanished.
God protects those that dare to be bold to him. In Christ alone I will stand. In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my strength, he is my light, he is my song. No guilt in life no fear in death. This is the power of Jesus Christ in me. From life first cry to last breath. Jesus Christ command my destiny. Stańczyk (c. 1480-1560) was the most famous Polish court jester. He was employed by three Polish kings: Alexander, Sigismund the Old and Sigismund Augustus.
You took your time to read the books, do you take your time to slow down, and do things slow while enjoying them? Something that gets you somewhere, something that is meaningful, something you can be grateful for. Like the taste of your favorite food. Have you tried to put everything aside, and just slowly enjoy what you truly like, breaking yourself from this constant circle of routine, thinking, and numbness? Charlie chaplin said, that we think too much and feel to little. What we feel is what we enjoy.
Thank you for the thoughtful comment! I absolutely agree. Taking time to enjoy and be present in the moment is so important. It's all about finding joy in the little things and truly living. Appreciate your insight!
It is important to maintain balance in life, but if you are healthy, well-fed, and surrounded by happy people, then why not seek meaning in life? Living without purpose is like being an animal that only focuses on satisfying its hunger. When you have some time for yourself, why not reflect on your own existence? If you have even more free time, then why not contemplate the deeper questions of life? Albert Camus, after much thought and reading of absurd philosophical concepts, concluded this term called "absurdism".Or he was lazy to think because this take lots of efforts, energy and , endless thinking. So, It's important to note that what may be beneficial to some may be harmful to others. Not everything is meant for everyone. For example, if workers were to start pondering lofty philosophical ideas and philosophers were to take up manual labor, it would not be meaningful. Therefore, deep thinking is not suitable for everyone, but it's definitely not absurd.
Question, Is Absurdism a form of Stoicism? I find a lot of stoic references here. If it isn't, could you tell me a prime difference between the two. Please, it would help me alot.
A mind that is set don’t move and only reach it’s destined point. It’s called a mindset which why building one is absolutely absurd and idiotic. Many won’t comprehend that.
