Absolutely no need for this video. It's quite palpable throughout this channel that the curators know of and constantly exploit the unfortunate tensions between Naija and Southy folks. Both countries are great in their own respects and have their own struggles, but we don't have to put one down in order to appreciate the other. It's very childish. As a Saffa, much of what I know of Naija is through RU-vid and literature, and I would like to go on an unguided tour of Nigeria one day, meeting and communing with locals organically. The reason we're constantly at each other's necks is not necessarily because of our differences, but more of our likeness. Naija folks have done so much to take up space in the international society, showing excellence in academia, sports, business, tech & innovation etc. It's unfortunate that outsiders look at SA and only see the plight of blacks here, meanwhile, we've made significant strides ourselves in business, science, innovation and academia just like our Naija folks. The only difference is that successful black SAns do not necessarily have to emigrate in order to gain recognition and status. Cape Town may reflect the inequalities that plague it, but black SAns are driving the Economy elsewhere in SA, and sowing back into the community to replicate the progress. It's only been since '94 that we've been able to freely participate in the economy and anyone who's been to Joburg will tell you how much we've accomplished with such little time. Capetown is the capital city as we have 3 of them.parliament in cape, judiciary in free state and administration in Pretoria. Still Pretoria will take the trophy bcos we have so many many tourists attraction and our city roads are well paved. By the way I am living in Pretoria east, based on this video Abuja must still do more of infrastructure

I am Nigerian and you can’t compare the two. Cape Town had a head start before Abuja. Abuja started development in the 1980s while Cape Town have existed since forever. Nigeria has a whole is still younger than South Africa. Abuja still have about 75 percent development to go. Obviously Cape Town wins. Pls stop this fake ass comparison. Nigeria is one the African countries without proper infrastructure after independence. Nigeria started everything from the ground up. I am very sure Nigerian government can do better than what we currently have now though. In terms of beauty and convenience, Cape Town is in a class of its own .You can't compare it to other cities. The prevalence of crime in some parts of it could be a draw back though!. Otherwise, CT beats any other city in Africa hands down!

They are both beautiful but the difference is Abuja upscale buildings are occupied and owned by indigenous Africans unlike Capetown with white dominating and owning majority of their economy and buildings. Nigerians actually live in those houses, Whites there are tenants.

SA is the best in Many Cities compared to Nigeria. SA its geo-strategical position gives it advantage ie. Access to Pacific & Atlantic Oceans which are good for large scale imports & exports. Abuja has better road network with wide lanes like America. Capetown although more advanced have tiny roads and parking could is always an issue. Even the inner streets in Abuja have wide roads. Road network is definitely better in Abuja.

You didn't mention when the development of Cape Town started. Abuja was conceived in 80s and main construction started in the early 90s. So why would you compare Cape Town that started development decades before Abuja. Anyways, both are Africa Cities and I am proud of anything Africa, regardless their beauty. Abuja did not start in 1980's. It is the move, legislalture and outline that were proposed in 1986 by the Babangida's administration. It only started seeing infrastructural developments in 1991, with the buildings of the multiple Barracks (Military base) that are along the Maitama axis. It is safe to say that Abuja is only 31 years old. Infact, today's infrastructure in Abuja can be attributed to the Obasanjo's administration, when Malam Nasir El-rufai took over as the FCT minister. El-rufai demolished all illegal structures and built, state of the arts roads and other amenities. So, Abuja's infrastructure can only boast of about 15 years developement time frame. My uncle is among the few soldiers who were moved from Lagos to occypy the fully furneshed Military apartments (Sani Abacha's administration played a great deal in building them). He served in the Airforce within Abuja from 1988 till his retirement and my dad after retiring in Kaduna moved to Abuja in 1991, some of my siblings joined him in 1995 and I and my little sister joined in 1997. I know the history and development, very well.

Mr displeasure, this video is absolutely unnecessary. Abuja was a full bush in the 70s. The construction of Abuja only started in the 80s and it's still under construction. Capetown is much older than Abuja. And from my own point of view I didn't see much difference in both cities. Capetown is slightly better than Abuja. The video you showed shows that Abuja is very beautiful and well planned. Capetown is a coastal city just like Lagos. Abuja is a pure administrative city and only recently the government started making plans to build sky scrappers to make it more business friendly. You can do a video on Pretoria vs Abuja that will be more better. They are both pure administrative cities

Cape Town looks beautiful yes but I think the comparison is a bit unfair. I'm from Pretoria and I think a Pretoria v Abuja comparison would have been fair. But anyways at least in Nigeria its black nigerians that actually own those building but in SA its our former colonial masters.

I have been to both cities. There is an appeal for both of them. Both are very nice. I think it comes down to if you like a costal city with a beach, you choose Cape Town. Cape Town also has a large white population. But if you want to see the best of black Africa and want to experience living among what I call, real successful African black people, I choose Abuja. By the way, at the 7:04 mark, I don't remember seeing a Waffle House anywhere in Abuja. Where did this picture come from?
They are 4,7+ million ppl in cape Town in which 42,7% is black, 39, 9% coloured (ppl who are a mixture of bantu/khoisan +other races) 16,4% white and 1.4% other races.. It's not like you'll walk around seeing only white ppl
@@MAR-vs3vf I didn't say that. But I don't like it that the whites live in all the nice places. I've seen the shacks that blacks live in there. But in Abuja and other Nigerian cities, black Africans are living good.

You have a very wrong presentation here, (1) Abuja is just a new baby born in the mid 80’s and she is in the growing process of just 36 years, l am very sure you know how old is your Johanesbouge built by your colonia aparted master to seperate themselves from you blacks and did not want to leave you except for the intervention of this same Abuja Nigeria and many other African countries, now you are making comparations, what a shame on your face ?.
No offense to Nigerians but like Paarl and Stellenbosch alone (population around 100,000) are better than big cities like Lagos and Port Hartcourt. Even like Kimberley can’t be compared to Kano.
