The devs really knew how to make it anxiety impacting. I don't know how to explain it but the game is just somehow very creepy even though for the most part it seems normal-ish (of course excluding the fact it's about a kid being abused and neglected)

Smelly dying actually almost made me tear up how is a video game this sad,my god. I’m glad the child escaped the dad, he deserved his freedom after being tortured over and over again, being hit by a bat over and over, his anger reaching his limits, and Smelly dying triggered his wrath.

God that was tough to watch. Having known people that have gone through some rather bad physical abuse it's hard to stomach. I've also been the victim of neglect (though not abuse) myself, so seeing a kid have to live in absolute squalor effects me on a personal level.

We as gamers,youtube watchers and youtubers united the loss of smelly may have been the saddest moment in all of gamer history and while the loss of him made us sad he wouldve wanted us to move on but forever remember him not only in our mind but also our hearts and we know that if smelly died he will always still watch over us from the heavens and always try and tell us hes not gone and he never is gone and that because of that smely will not only live on in our minds but also in our hearts smelly was a legend and legends never die

This horrifies me, but its well made and teaches about horrors kids have to face, at least some kids. [Psst, to let you know this bit contains spoilers!] Smellys death honestly hurt me, especially since my one cat is identical to the way Smelly looks.. None of the characters (but the dad) needed this treatment.. The mom didnt need to die..Smelly didnt need to die, those bullies can just, go away..and the Kid definetly didnt deserve it.
