Awesome review. I ordered it after watching this video. Looking forward to using it on my deck this summer. Would be nice to get the links to the brass parts to replace the plastic stuff.
Just an update. I upgraded my nozzles with shut off switches and it’s 100 times better because you can adjust the mist to just one, and regulate the amount that comes out of each. I had to cut off a little bit of plastic on the misto with a saw to make the threads of the shut off valves fit, but it was super easy. I also used some plumber teflon tape to make sure it didn't leak. Here are the parts: 3 Metal nozzles ⅛ NPT (10/24 is the thread size) and the (0.020 inch) orifice depends on how much water flow you want. Amazon was out so I bought from mistcoolingdotcom. 1/8 - 27 NPT Misting Nozzles 0.020 Inch - High Flow (10/24 Thread Size) mistcooling.com/1-8-27-npt-misting-nozzles-0-020-inch-high-flow.html 3 shut off valves, ⅛ NPT HongBoW Hardware 2 Pcs 1/8 inch Mini Brass Ball Valve - Chrome Plated Female x Male NPT Shut Off Valve www.amazon.com/gp/product/B099ZKVP62/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 If I were to do it all over, I would get an outdoor fan and just buy good metal parts instead of getting the cheap plastic misto parts. Those nozzles suck compared to the metal. The plastic nozzles came with o-rings that fell apart when soaking them in vinegar, which you need to do every few weeks with misters.
Could you please clarify cutting off with a saw. I have all of the parts from your links, but not sure about the cutting procedure. Thanks for the great review!
Excellent review. I just bought this from the Costco website for $79.00 and it arrived this morning. Super easy to set up and works as good as I could hope for the price and ease of use. We live in the Chicago suburbs and our summers are hot with stifling humidity. Our deck has western exposure so it is brutal on 95 degree days like today. As you point out we can't sit out there in the day due to the heat but now we can! Is it perfect as you point out? No. But for the price it is very robust compared to the other cheaper options we have tried.
@@trophyhusbandreviews Thank you! We had guests over yesterday and it really made the deck noticeably more comfortable. I am also going to get the filter too as our water has a really high mineral content.
New update after two seasons: with the upgraded parts below, this thing is awesome. The shutoffs and the metal nozzles are a game changer for regulated the right amount of mist so you don't get soaked and the cooling effect on full blast is incredible. ------- (Old update with parts) Just an update. I almost wanted to hit you for being like everyone else in this video but I continue to watch and I actually learned quite a bit about misting and things I never knew to even look for so thank you I don't hate you for that
Since you said you would do it differently if you were to do it again….can you shoot me over exactly what setup you would use? Send me affiliate links :) I don’t mind spending up to $200 to create something worthy.
The other nozzles it came with will change that, but those nozzles all suck. Get shutoffs and metal nozzles (i mention in my other comment) and it will be 10x better.
😆😆😆 This just made my whole night 😁 I don't usually find men funny... Sorry if that sounds sexist. 🤔 Or IS sexist... 🤣 But whatever, it's true. However, this was just fabulous. You're clever and knowledgeable 🙌🏼 super awesome combo. Subscribed and looking forward to watching more of your videos in my free time 😁😁😁
