The windup speed also depends on the voltage going to the siren usually these have about 280vac to 480vac going to them if higher then faster windup speeds if lower slower windup speeds.

It’s not you. It’s simple science and physics, with some elementary school math in the mix. We need to think of 8/12 (the port ratio) as a fraction, which can be simplified to 2/3 by dividing the top and bottom by 4. This means, if you look at the rotor, there should be 4 identical quadrants. So, for 1 full rotation of the rotor, the 12 and 8 ports only sound “together” 4 times, giving the illusion that there’s a 4 port, or a 4/8/12 port ratio. A 2/3 pitch ratio is also known as a fifth in music theory. I also sometimes hear that low harmonic in a fifth when certain instruments are played, especially synthesizers.

Pro Gamer Chris Paris has 7 or 8, there's 4 of these, a P15 by PHS and a couple of new FS sirens because they have started an improvement/replacement program, and they said it will take 2 FS per current siren.

Those P-50s are staying. They’ll keep expanding I believe, but they’re keeping those beasts after Goddard Enterprises convinced them to.

I wouldn't say "so easily" because these have been here for decades and yeah with time they're gonna take a beating. P-50's do tend to have a lot of holes just cause they're so loud haha

+arey1211 I just wish they would be refurbished instead of being replaced... These were (and still are I believe) the biggest AND loudest sirens ever to be made, and why replace something that holds that title? A good refurbishment and a modernization would most likely cost less than a whole new modern siren...

+Fifthcell i completely agree with you. Kenosha refurbished their P-50's so they will be in service for a very long time. The only issue with these sirens is the incapability for battery backup. Cities looking for upgrades or replacements will only get sirens with battery backup. The T-135 AC/DC is 132dB (loudest in production and still probably largest) & it has battery backup so thats a nice choice. T-128 same way.

+arey1211 You'd think with today's tech, they would be able to modernize them by giving them that ability for battery backup... I mean, if they can refurbish them to make them sound and look brand-new, they could (possibly should) be able to give it that ability...
