Awesome echoes, sounds so eerie when it’s pointed away. Glad to see you’re making vids again! You inspired me to start my own channel over 10 years ago. Cheers!
@SirensOfSEWI Thanks, man, that means a lot to hear. I've been subbed to you for a few years now, and your videos are great! I'm glad to he back in the hobby and have done a lot more recording this year. After I get around to editing, there will be a lot of hopefully better quality videos coming.
Nice video! A good call back to that one tornado drill where this exact sirens rotator broke and you were in front of the siren for 3 minutes straight.
Depends on what's causing the rotator to malfunction. I'm sure if it's something simple as a dead contacter or a broken/disconnected chain I'm pretty sure, SWS would repair it. Much like the West Allis P-50 with the stuck rotator back in January. If it's the motor itself though, then I'm sure they will just leave it as is until it's replaced.
I guess every siren here slated for replacement got the memo and decided to start showing issues knowing they are about to be retired. In all seriousness though, RIP OG Milwaukee siren system. (When the replacement project actually commences.)
It is a real bummer to see older sirens getting replaced everywhere, but this hobby has served to document and preserve their memory for many years to come.
@@RamFett you're so right. Besides, enthusiast's are gonna get their hands on a good number of them when they get replaced. (Ones already got dibs on the Mobil Directo.) So it's not like it's the last time we will ever see them again. (We might even see a P-50 in sirencon for the first time!)
