Hey RamFett! Glad to see you back here! The guy that taught me everything I know! Nice recording! I tried several times to record that one, but I got stopped by security twice, and the cops once.
Hey man, how's it going? I remember you from way back! I've really gotten back into filming sirens this year, and im glad to be here. What were the circumstances of security/police bothering you? I guess I've been pretty lucky to just be judged as weird but otherwise ignored while recording.
Great video of this beast! I always see this siren off in the distance when we take a trip to Chicago or further. I've always liked how its near that water tower. Quick question, I'm honestly surprised these P-50's are still here right now. Did the replacement project get halted or is it just taking longer than I thought?
@zachzebra56 Still ongoing, it's been a slow process. As an enthusiast, I'm thrilled to have the chance to record all the ones I've missed out on over the years. But for the people of Milwaukee, this seems like beauracracy and government inefficiency at its finest.
@@RamFett That sounds pretty accurate LOL! Wonder why it's been a slow process. Anyways, I'm happy you got the chance to catch the ones you missed over the years while you can!
You know, I noticed that as well, and I'm not entirely sure what causes that. Some P-50s seem to have more of a warble sound, while others have sort of a steady air rushing sound. I was in Hudson WI at the RM 135 recently, and it warbles just like this one does.
@@RamFett I've heard that it's just because of massive amounts of air rushing in to the siren, but it almost sounds like a nearby T-128 running at about 480hz and clashing with the 460hz from the 8-port row
@lonely.toaster Basically, from what I understand, the Compulert is supposed to control both chopper and rotation separately, but they use two relays wired together. So effectively, yeah it's cutting power to both at once.
