She was not found "Not Guilty" - The conviction was "quashed" due to the defense not having quite enough evidence for it to stick. The Judge who presided over Maggie's appeal set aside the conviction and dismissed all three charges, saying he was not satisfied beyond reasonable doubt. This does not mean that she was not initially guilty of this abhorrent crime. I am absolutely disgusted in those on here saying why didn't that girl come forward earlier? Are you fucking kidding me? This sort of thing can't be easy for anyone. I believe this filthy woman did it and so do some of her former cast mates which is why none of them wanted to come forward in support of her.
She hasn't been proven innocent (In the eyes of the law she has though) but instead the Judge agreed she shouldn't have been convicted on the evidence. I must agree. The jury didn't do their duty. She will never be able to prove she didn't do it. No DNA, CCTV etc. is going to prove her innocence so there will always people assuming or believing she is guilty. Perhaps she is guilty or her accuser lied. PLEASE NOTE: I do NOT believe she is guilty. The evidence should not have convicted her.
she hadnt had her appeal yet and they are calling her disgraced. so pleased she was cleared. it must have been hell for her dealing with the trial and pathetic media.
It's disgraceful that a number of the former Prisoner actors did not want to talk on camera, nor wanted to be seen supporting Maggie because they weren't sure of what to believe, despite disbelieving the claim and being shocked about the claim. Shame on them for that, but I'm glad Maggie was cleared of the crime and found innocent, because of the court case being a total farce with the judge believing the so-called "victim's" story instantly, and the dodgy "facts" that did not add up at all to anyone with an ounce of sense.
Pamela Cook I'm very happy to hear today that Val Lehman supported her, although I never heard about that on any Prisoner related pages on Facebook, nor anywhere else online. 😃😊
Disgusting that the majority of studio references was about the Freak and not Mrs Kilpatrick. This was another case which should not have progressed and thankfully her appeal upheld and innocence prevailed
Questions can be asked on who was chasing whom and if there was any shenanigans then was it expected with the advancements. Maybe Maggie did show affection to the women that she allowed into her house after being stalked. She was a single women so she may have got desperate for company, even if wrong. The case was appealed and Maggie wasn't found guilty of the allegations. It's kind of a ridiculous case, unless it was a child, and Maggie was the predator.
That's why alot of people don't want to offer their help. It gets twisted and made into something sick; So sad. The judge didn't seperate the Freak's character; she portrayed. From the actress Maggie, the actual person. Innoccent she is, but the damage is done. The appeal proved her innocence, the judge should be liable.
I don't think it's true 😐.maggie seems such a sweet genuine lady. Yeah she played the freak. But don't think she's anything like her characters in real life. I hope & pray that someday will come forward & clear her name. She an amazing actress. I honestly wish💫 her all the very best 🍀 & that she clears her name once & for all.
Fans who are obsessed with PRISONER doesnt know anything else about real people behind acting thats why they are fans :obsession- only Maggie and her friends and her family have a say in this. Let me tell you FOR SURE, people may say Maggie comes across as kind in 'interviews' - from forehand as i myself have been interviewed ITS JUST LIKE ACTING ANYONE WOULD PUT THEIR BEST FORWARD DESPITE IT BEING TRUE OR NOT!
Perhaps this psychotic patient thought Prisoner was "real" & I wonder if it happened before during or after Maggie's Prisoner days, not that that is relevant at all. I'd better watch myself or I'll lose my Buy-Up for 2 weeks and go to the pPound.
she will always be a legend in my eyes because of her character in prisoner cell block h showed me what prison is really like if i didn't change my ways. and i saw a showing of the programme as a child and it scared me but since then i have never once been to prison but sadly i have been in trouble with the law but nothing too bad cause i remembered one of her phases " if you don't want to end up in here don't do the crime if you can't pay the time"
ACA is the worst show on Australian TV. It’s not journalism it’s trash and it continues to trash people’s lives. Tracy Grimshaw sold her soul hosting it for 17 years!
Everything I saw seemed to conflate Maggie Kirkpatrick with Joan Ferguson, really bad reporting. I well remember Prisoner but who was charged, the actor or the character? Shocking reporting and as others said - she was later cleared and the video should be removed.
She did it! And just for everyone's info the conviction was "quashed" due to the defense not having quite enough evidence for it to stick. The Judge who presided over Maggie's appeal set aside the conviction and dismissed all three charges, saying he was not satisfied beyond reasonable doubt. This does not mean that Maggie Kirkpatrick was not initially guilty of this abhorrent crime there was just not enough evidence for this poor girl to win her case. I am absolutely disgusted in those on here saying why didn't that girl come forward earlier? Are you fucking kidding me? This sort of thing can't be easy for anyone. I believe this filthy woman did it and so do some of her former cast mates which is why none of them wanted to come forward in support of her. Why on earth would any adult take home a 14 yr old "disturbed" girl (as Maggie called her) and cook them a meal when there are other avenues to take to help them? Buy them a meal, give them some money for a room for the night, contact crisis care or something like that. No, I'm not buying it at all. In my opinion she had sinister intentions from the get go when she lured that "disturbed" kid back to her home.
@@glenysnewchurch7957 If it was a bloke who took home a 14 year old girl just that act alone would've been enough for him to be condemned and understandably so. What responsible middle aged woman takes home a 14 year girl 🙄. Her motivations sound totally legit. Riiiiiiight. 😒
30 odd years ago there was not the help for waifs, strays, homeless and disturbed people like there is in todays society 2023. I believe Maggie was helping the girl rather than leave a vulnerable young person out on the street. It’s the kind of thing I would do because I’m too soft hearted and want to help 😞
In the video here she is referred to as straight, not gay. I've always heard and read of Maggie being straight, never gay like her character, Joan Ferguson. She has been married with a daughter, and she is a proud mother and grandmother. 😃
+FredricEric Aww, thank you. You're very welcome. Regards from London. 😃 PS: I'm currently learning Swedish and I love what I see about Sweden especially on Swedish language channels. I'd love to visit one day. I think Prisoner (Kvinnofängelset) is on television in Sweden still at the moment. 😃
